Personally, this was my favorite game of 2018. The doctor vampire dynamic and people killing effecting the game just gripped me. Idk. But I loved this game.
It was my game of the year as well. If you could pick one thing about the game that made you love it so much what would it be? Mine was the amazing atmosphere.
Absolutely. I loved it with a passion. And I loved my ending as well. I roleplayed as a guy who killed people (not everyone but quite a bit) but took care of my patients at the same time. Basically a serial killer that's also a good doctor. I loved that balance

Reading the comments and glad to see I'm not alone. I absolutely loved this game and it has one of my favorite narratives in recent years. Also the voice acting is some of the best in gaming
Me as well if I recall they said it met their expectations, I dunno if that guarantees a sequel but it cant hurt. I also heard that they are going to make a tv series as well, could be interesting if done right.
Excited for the new Bloodlines!? :D Knowing Bloodlines so well and then playing Vampyr, the first thing I did when able was try to feed from a rat. I was so jazzed to see they included it.
This game is a sleeper classic. For all its technical faults and polish, this game is masterclass in mature story telling. One of the best vampire stories I've experienced on any medium.
Imo this was my game of the year last year, beautiful atmosphere and amazing time period. I think I liked it so much because of how they made the npcs seem so real, I just liked how they tried something new and imo they pulled it off.
I disagree very much with the notion that WWI should've been shown. Its status as a vague 'other place in time' is important to the 'coming back' aspects of the narrative, you see the world and especially individuals affected by this place, this thing that's happening somewhere far away but is ultimately illusive to people who haven't experienced it, and those that have can't - or don't want to - express it to others, and those others would likely be unable to fully comprehend it. That's war from a distance, or rather - wartime. Vampyr is very much a period piece despite its fantastical central elements, and the feeling that London is somehow suspended in time, an island amidst a darker worldscape is (while exaggerated) based in the feelings of the times. Think about it, you have political and social turmoil at home, a devastating war abroad, an open revolt in Ireland and a bloody suppression, and now a fucking god-awful flu epidemic that will eventually kill more people than the World War will kill. To a lot of folks it seemed like the end-times, and the best way to depict this without being hokey or conflicting with those fantastical elements is to express it in atmosphere - a general sense that something is looming and ready to pop off at any moment - and to express it in nervous, anxious dialogue framing these vague other cataclysms. In this game, you can not show historical 'events' by themselves, they need to always be tied with anxiety or emotion in a character and always from a healthy distance. They have to seem like they are themselves monsters looming in the shadows and pulling strings - and they are, even in reality. There are ways to build a backstory for Count Docturla, but showing his time in the First World War, particularly in the setting itself, would've been a misstep I think.
***A Couple of quick corrections*** 1) You do get to see a 20 second dream-flash back to Jonathan during the War. 2) In case it wasn't clear, some of the 'Vampiric' abilities don't rely on blood but rather are based on a countdown timer. If you find any others, let me know! Thanks for watching! Remember to follow me on Twitter: @LukeStephensTV
You neglected to mention the weapon class that let's you draw blood from enemies with each hit. It makes a "clean" run a hell of a lot easier as you can gain blood just by hitting someone in regular combat.
Hey Luke thanks for this critique! This game has a few problems, but I enjoy it nonetheless. There aren't that many vampire games so (until Vampire Bloodlines 2) I regard this as a decent enough vampire game.
Hey man, great vid again as always! Was just thinking, I'd love to hear your thoughts on kingdom come: deliverance in a critique type video! I have no idea why I thought of that game but still, would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it!
For a lower budget game i though it was great. I didnt go into it expecting aaa and i was shocked by the quality of the production values, easily rivaling and surpassing high budget games in most aspects. Ye, it wasnt perfect, but it was good enough and i hope they make another one.
a little chauvinism here: in france, we may not have the history of big studios and great game design;, but we have great art schools. As a result, quite a few french studios come up with really tasteful art directions, even if other aspects are not always quite as polished.
This is truly fascinating to me.. as a medical professional I was immediately drawn in by the moral dilemma of a doctor feeding on his patients. And him being a medical professional immediately made a connection with me.. so interesting to see another’s experience without the medical background.
I enjoyed this critique but I found your conclusions to be way too harsh. A lot of what you mentioned it accurate but personally I loved the game and had a lot of fun with it. 8/10 for me.
Most choices having objectively undesirable outcomes thstblovk you out of whole areas and characters really pissed me off though. Sure have some tradeoffs but don't completely fuck a whole chunk of the game just because I didn't realise what the best choice was
I dunno what copy you had picked up but I've played it loads of times and I don't recall encountering any game breaking glitches, but I really agree with the loading screen problems, for a 2018 game you would expect loading screens on something like this to be non existent. But it really slows down and harm's the game in my opinion
I really adored this game. It has issues, but my god is it nice to enjoy a unique single player game in between all the online multiplayer rubbish. Also I actually loved the dialogue and investigation parts.
I just has my first playthrough was on ps5 after the performance patch, and I was unbelievably good. I disabled my mission reminders, and slow walked for immersion. I experienced no bugs or glitches either. I thought this game was fantaaaaastic
Thanks for the honesty! I adore Vampyr, it lived up to my expectations and was my 6th favourite game last year, I didn't experience any glitches, but the sequel should definitely have a bigger budget!
My only playthrough was under the mission of gaining the „not even once” trophy. And while I completely understand people coming to the conclusion that refraining from embracing NPC’s and essentially limiting yourself by refusing to utilize a huge element of the game, I really enjoyed it. To me, it felt it was most in balance with Jonathan’s character of being a doctor. Walking through London, helping out people by visiting the many destitute and bleak places and giving them medicine. Healing and maintaining every district so it won’t fall to the epidemic. I really liked it. But I totally get why this is considered boring.
Dude idk, for me I loved the romance between Elisabeth and Jonathan, it felt built up and kind of awkward at the start because I mean like, they’re vampires lmao Whatdya gonna day to a chick that’s centuries older than you. I liked the twists regardless of how predictable they were! It felt like a great game. Got it at full price $40 and I don’t regret it, the first time through I was like tearing up when Jonathan stopped Elisabeth killing herself, I was like genuinely happy for the two of them. Anyways that’s enough of me, you came her for Luke
I'm playing this game right now and although the loading screens still is annoying I found that the game is still worth a buy because of the decision making in the game, the characters do a great job at voice acting especially the main character when you get those cut scenes that could change the district completely. I admire what the devs did with this game and truly believe that this game is worth your attention if you have not picked it up especially with different endings depending on your decisions of the game
Remember watching your Witcher 3 videos just because I was very very obsessed with it. Now it’s more than that. Your critiques are very well explained and justified, unlike other reviewers that use “big” poetic words that say nothing to justify said thing if it’s amazing or horrible. Basically what you say isn’t just a bunch of words...
he didnt even touch base on any ofvthe games best qualitys hes just pissy cuz itd no witcher but the game is till amazing wont find another vamp game like it. ill give it has a few problems but he paints it in a horrible light
I played this last year and was a sleeper hit for me. Loved the narrative choice gameplay, combat was decent, the characters are interesting and well developed and I love the setting. I hope there's a sequel. *edit: as with other comments I see, never had any bugs or glitches on ps4 that I noticed at all. Frequent crashes is infuriating in any game and significantly dampers the experience. Unfortunate that was such an issue at launch
I absolutely LOVED the game and couldn't put it down. I literally could not sleep as I needed to see where the story went. I was so invested and immersed. There were little things I believe could have been improved upon, especially the loading screens. That was the only aspect of the game that I had a problem with. But overall it was an awesome experience and definitely has not gotten the attention it deserves. It is for sure a hidden gem of a game and I really do hope they make a sequel.
I had a fair few technical issues but this game was unique and intresting enough that I beat it and had fun. Didnt want it to last much longer but I had a lot of fun with it. I likes reed a lot and I hope we get a sequel. These inventive original AA games I love. Games like this and we happy few, that are genuinely just different from AAA games I love.
Don't worry. Vampire the Masquerade 2 is being developed, and if it gets more time than the original did, it'll end up being the best vampire rpg game ever.
I agree with most of the stuff you said but the thing that killed it for me the most was the loading screens. I could've got over everything else but those loading screens killed my gaming experience
can we talk about Geralt having glasses?? i missed that opportunity in two separate playthorughs... as for Vampyr, i couldn't finish it because it felt like a slog after about 10-12 hours....i really wanted to like the game, some very interesting concepts but with flawed execution...
Now that this game has been updated and fixed, the game is fantastic, i didn't experience any bugs at all. I'd recommend buying it today if you haven't. The load screens are still long though but thats my only issue.
This game was disappointing. Many character arcs didn't end like I expected. When you meet your sister, the decision to fight doesn't make any sense! She's literally back and they can survive together. Town is not big enough for two vampires? Whatever
I looked a lot of reviews about this game because i was feeling divided. I saw a lot. And you were the best one. And 10 seconds of loading screen? Mine was always 4 minutes (literally) every time I left or enter a place
There seems to be some rule with video game videos on TH-cam that if you mention a bad video game or it's about one Mass Effect Andromada HAS to be brought up one way or another
Thank you for this video. I really wanted to love Vampyr and even though I enjoyed it well enough, it could have been so, so much more. Hopefully this is just a start for more Vampire narratives that aren't just "vampire bad, stab it with a cross"
I love this game, it's one of my favs! Excellent voice acting, writing, and the conflict between being a killer and a healer made believable by the protagonist having been a frontline medic soldier in a world war. Thanks for spotlighting it Luke even though I don't agree with most of your critique
Vampyr is actually a really good game in 2022 and on PS5 with the 60 frames patch I really liked the concept of vampire/Doctor one of the best vampire games overall it was a good game but with at least another 6 months development it would have been something
Well considering our PC systems are so very close we have very different opinions on this game although I believe it could have been longer and it could have been more elaborate I do think it was a very great game considering it was a huge departure from their other game Life is Strange. i7-8700k OC-4.7GHZ RTX 2070 XC 32GB DDR4 RAM, 2666 mhz 500GB SSD 6TB SG Barricuda also >5TB hd space with other hdd
I got it with PS plus recently and it's really buggy. Yesterday, it crashed twice and I have had issues with it glitching and acting up, constantly. I'm worried about putting time into it and then losing progress, especially since I realised it's a better game than I thought. The atmosphere is excellent and it's a shame I'm having these issues. Seeing as others are saying they haven't had the problems, I might reinstall at some point to see if it fixes them. I can see myself really getting into it.
It's 2023 and I just finished this game, mostly playing on my Steam Deck, but also a fair amount on my ryzen7 6800xt ndme system and imagine there must be some great patches that have come out, our perhaps my system just powered through stuff, because I had very little of the glitches and loading of which you spoke. It took a relatively long time to load after each death, but my main gripe was the level design and frustrations of navigating areas. Otherwise I loved this game and I was surprised by both the quality of the story, the incredible audio, including both the musical scores and the voice acting. I truly enjoyed this game.
This was actually one of my favourite games of 2018, but I agree that it did hit a few points that could have made it a masterpiece. I hope they make a part 2 and refine the formula and the game.
I enjoyed the game for the most part. Though my biggest complaint was that I wanted the vampire society to be more in-depth. I wanted a longer narrative experience where you can really navigate the high vampire society in an open world setting. Overall I would give it about about a 7.5/10 but there’s a lot I would’ve added to it. But I do get that it was from a smaller developer so it would’ve been difficult to put out a full blown open world where you can choose to the run city, or all of Britain, from the guild of vampires.
After hearing about the Ascalon club I became giddy with expectation, and then there was only two characters you could talk to with minimal dialogue and only one mission. I guess I felt that the vampire society in-game should have been as involved as in Vampire the masquerade.
I did enjoy the game, even the combat and RPG mechanics and loved the side story quests. The only thing that disappointed me was the forced romance and lack of real choices in the main story as it's quite linear.
Yeah i remember the sceen where you start off having a brew with your mentor and mid discussion the characters profess their love for each other. Had to take a minute to get over the laughter after that Still love the game though.
@@alasdair0j yeah, that scene totally took me by surprise. I didn`t do anything over the course of the game which would imply that I fancy Elisabeth. And suddenly it all went "Yup, guess I´m in love now..." This and the fact that it took me ca. 2 hours to really get into the game I absolutely loved it.
I adore this game, the atmosphere is brilliant and heavy, reminded me of Nightmare Creatures. Voice actor for the main character done an amazing job here too, yes it's not perfect, but it doesn't have to be. I've played on xbox one x and never had any issues and I've completed it 3 times for different endings. I like your videos man, I really do but you're being to harsh
I totally agree! I would only add that the romance is especially disappointing because of how forced and half baked it is. I was genuinely surprised when the doc and his li started to call each other beloved and such... like when did this happen and why? I ended up not caring for the lady at all, which is unacceptable for someone who wept like a baby in the end of Dragon Age Trespasser :)
I really loved playing this game during the summer. I just wished we would feel a bit more... powerful in the game. Sometimes, I'd just get abused by NPCs. I also hated how BEING a vampire would give you a bad ending. Kind of sucked, to be honest. But overall, the game was a really fun experience.
I liked this game, I thought it was interesting enough. I didn’t expect much going into it; it was not a full $60 game even on release (I think it was around $30 or $40) and I got a good 8 hours or so out of it. Didn’t experience any bugs or issues, which can really make me hate a game. Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice was a game that I had to restart it (halfway through the game both times) because of game breaking bugs. That was probably over a year ago and I’m still pissy about it.
That sucks, especially for a game like Hellblade that relies heavily on immersion. I also experienced a bug were one of the rune stone became a copy of a previous one, and therefore lost the achievement, but that is a minor thing compared to your experience. And about Vampyr, I agree. The game is definitely worth playing, just not at full price.
Awesome video as ever Luke 😁 I tremendously enjoy the way in which you go through and give a structured & well-balanced analysis/argument while also taking the time to further explain and justify your reasons for your opinions and conclusions. I'll definitely check out Vampyr eventually if I see it on sale in the foreseeable future.
@@redwolf6263 Its not really nitpicking, i couldnt get over how odd the combat was. Bite mechanic conflicts with itself in combat, i found the story uninteresting with only a few good characters. And the environment looked nice but it felt like 16 people in an elevator, cramped as fuck. I have a passionate hate for this game because i really wanted it to be good. The only arguement ive heard is that i was expecting too much but, i mean, i played life is strange so expectations werent high at all for a narrative rpg.
Honestly I really enjoyed this game as the more indie or AA ARPG that it is. Along the kunea if something like Mass Effect or spiders games in a way. It was a super cool concept with vampires and the historical setting. I lived the ending and the majority of what the game offered.
The problem with this game is that is very difficult to create a great game with this idea. Yeah, the idea is great, but is so difficult to make a game based in that. And certainly a developer like Dontdod doesn,t have the resources for a game like this. This is clearly reflected in the loading times, something that you mention. Anyway, is a game that tries to do something different and it doesn,t totally fail. If you like the setting or the story is a very enjoyable game.
Still think this is one of the most underrated games ever. I've beaten it 3 times, choices are great, story is good , combat is loosely souls like. Lots of rpg elements. Absolute gem
They may have rebalanced it but it wasn't that hard going through without drinking blood. You just have to make sure to heal people and do side quests, it gives you decent XP drops. I definitely agree with the stagger bar issue though, it was super frustrating. They've also really improved the performance, I had no stuttering/long load times playing in 2024.
Give anything to cd project red and they will make it good no matter what. Saying this game doesnt need improvement is one of the furthest things ive heard from the truth
Having great visions is so important for progression even if it's a "failure". Some of the best games built on something someone tried some time ago. I wish we would frame failure more positive. You can only fail if you've tried something what you believed in.
I got the game a few months ago on a Steam sale for around 15 euros and well, I loved it! The loading is much less of an issue on PC (there are only loading screens when entering some buildings) and yeah, there are other issues but it's a very enjoyable game if you get it on sale.
I don’t remember the game having as many technical issues as you say it did. But I’m replaying the ps5 version and it’s awesome. I couldn’t disagree with you more. Further more, your complaints are kinda ridiculous. If you spare people the game is harder, if you kill them it’s easier. Who gives a shit about balancing. You can also draw enemies to “invisible lines” even in souls games, so giving this game crap for it is kinda stupid. I guess it’s different strokes but Skyrim and the Witcher 3 both kind of bore the shit out of me. That said, if minimum wage is a gauge of the value of ones time, 60 bucks for even 10 hours is pretty much fair trade.
I loved this game too, along with most of the people here who left comments. I had no issues with the "balance" or lack thereof, however. I played the game and did the "Not Even Once" achievement. It was obviously more difficult than if i had embraced people but it wasn't bad at all and i thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough. I guess i'm a good gamer? Had no idea lol
I played this game on my XBOX console (through XBOX Game Pass) and unlocked all its achievements. This game is rough, but something is genuinely precious at its core. If it had a better budget, more development time, and more refined and polished gameplay mechanics, this game would have kicked ass. This game had so much going for it, but so much of it felt tedious. I played through it multiple times, and the problems that you mentioned in this video really exposed themselves. A properly implemented New Game Plus mode would have made this game much more fun for numerous playthroughs and easier to manage. They didn’t even include it in an update.
I played it on PC and didn't encounter invisible enemies, bugged textures nor the loading while going around the map in over 20 hours. I think those are issues only related to consoles. All the other issues are valid though.
Despite it's issues , one of my favorite games in the last 2 years. I enjoyed speaking to everyone and figuring out there secrets , or rooming the streets fighting werewolves or whatever ! the story was meh but surprisingly, The game had great sidequests ! It's definitely fun game
I played this on pc and alot of his technical complaints I never experienced any of em like the loading issues which I'm pretty sure is a Hard Drive issue but wtf it's 2018 who doesn't have a ssd in their PS4?
Great game 7/10 !!!!!!!! LMAO that makes it a good game great game is 8/10 9/10 is amazing 10/10 is an epic masterpiece ( The Last of Us, Arkham city, Uncharted 2, silent Hill 2)
Well, I really loved atmosphere, plot and MAGNIFICENT music. Fighting system is OK at most, bosses are meh, animations are clunky, morality does not work, most of this game just does not work as it should be, sadly disappointing experience, mostly because of expectations and not realized possibilities. I still enjoyed it, but it did not worth the time in my opinion. RDR2 was my GOTY2018, followed by God of War, no second thoughts. Those two were too good
For a game where narrative choices and people's deaths do really matter, look at Pathologic 2. That game has AMAZING stakes. Not every single npc there is important, but basically everyone you interact with, everyone you know by name, is. Because if they die, their quest line and/or connection to you gets cut off. And since it's very hard, and you're always short on time and resources, especially on the first playthrough, when u don't know where and what is, you're always going to lose someone. On like the 2 or 3d in-game day I've heard that something weird is happening to MC's childhood friend. And i wanted to go to him. But I had so much stuff on my plate, I simply haven't have the time that day. And when the clock struck 12, and the voice starting reading out, who lived and who died that night, I was utterly shocked. Because he was done. My childhood friend, whom I wanted to talk to, to reconcile with, hear out his perspective on the epidemic, just.. gone. Simple because I hadn't check up on him, I couldn't. And like wow, that games really makes you prioritize. And the fate of the characters impacts the fate of the city. I won't tell how, for the sake of the spoilers and the fact that I haven't reached the ending yet, so I dunno, how it all affects the ending
Well when a saiyan is beat near to death, they get way stronger when they recover because of it. If this game is anything like that then im certain ill love the next game
yeah I almost pre-ordered this because I´m a sucker for vampires but, then I saw a trailer featuring that combat system and it just deflated all the hype I had for this.. gonna have to wait some more for an awesome vampire game for this or the next gen, sadly..
I don't care what game you review cause' the way you present yourself alongside that soothing voice is what makes me watch you so keep up the great work man!
17:30 Don't empathize with someone whose job is to solve what you're describing. They must have had experience with balancing game features, if they didn't, nor had the talent/potential for it, maybe they shouldn't have the job.
I bought this a few months after launch and my oh my was it a mess! I played for about 8 hrs and it crashed about 10 times! I just shelved it and kinda forgot about it. Now I might go back and give it a new go. It is an interesting game and the whole vampire/doctor dynamic is pretty cool.
Games like this interest but also intimidate me. Multichoice and multioutcome games trigger that gamer disease of wanting to know every outcome of every dialogue choice for every character, which would be a lot unless I plan to play it thru several times over the next several years, which is intimidating.
I heard it had issues on consoles, but on PC it ran and looked beautifully. I think the issue people had, was expectations, as it usualy is when gamers end up dissapointed. I just bought it on a whim and had no clue what I was going into, doing that I ended up having a great time, it all worked as the game told me it will so this critique seems very harsh to me. Also, no offence to your buddy, but you gotta be kidding :D How is one of your arguments built on something like this, even IF a person would not be certain about whether combat mechanic influences the story (which simply is not the case in like 99% of games) a quick search would immidiately answer that question. I played the game as a good guy, didnt embrace anyone, had super hard time and im not even that adept in games to be honest, but it certainly is doable, saying its build with being half and half in mind is nonsense, since there are specific endings for good and bad. If you are good, its harder, it makes sense and if you are evil you are essentially a vampire lord, wrecking shit, also makes sense. Its a roleplay thing, if you dont care about that, you wont care about being good or bad and just do what seems most fun to you.
Have there been any patches or something that re-balanced the gameplay since it came out? cause a lot of people say that the game is neigh impossible to beat as a pacifist while I found it normal; And I'm not even that great a gamer.
@@SantosAl there have been quite a few patches for the game, cant say what they did tho I finished the game shortly after launch and didnt come back to it. Id recommend playing on easier difficulties or mod/cheat if you truly cant move over some struggle.
Vampyr is technically the classical spelling of the word....since "I" was not a largely or popular letter in dialect/alphabet or formally adopted in most cases. Spelling it with a "y" is also more occult than the modern secular spelling.

Especially if you think at the Meta aspect of the plot that you the player ARE the "blood curse" making the choices for Jonathan Reed
@@TheMeccio Ooooh, I really like that.
***A Couple of quick corrections***
1) You do get to see a 20 second dream-flash back to Jonathan during the War.
There aren't that many vampire games so (until Vampire Bloodlines 2) I regard this as a decent enough vampire game.
you suck cant see a good thing when you got it
Hey man, great vid again as always! Was just thinking, I'd love to hear your thoughts on kingdom come: deliverance in a critique type video! I have no idea why I thought of that game but still, would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it!
@@redwolf6263 its just an opinion based on his experience, calm down lol its not that serios
Same here. The twist of being a doctor/"good guy" vampire was very interesting.
For european people who still wants to play this game. It is discounted right now on the ps4 store

Bored of cleanprincegaming too I guess!

@@redwolf6263 The best part about it is the concept of the embrace system. Most of the stuff in this game isnt implemented well
I played this last year and was a sleeper hit for me.
Played on launch on pc, had no issues whatsoever
Ooof
@@grahamhill676 Yeah... 😅
I agree with most of the stuff you said but the thing that killed it for me the most was the loading screens. I could've got over everything else but those loading screens killed my gaming experience
Mine too. I stopped playing because of the loading screens. I never even finished the game.
I had my phone handy for each loading screen, was able to read a lot while the game was loading lol.
Luke could you do a deep dive into The Order 1886?
Lol wait for discount. Def worth playing. It's a gem

Gameplay wise I agree with you but narrative wise I liked it a lot. Hopefully they make a sequel and figure the rest out
can we talk about Geralt having glasses?? i missed that opportunity in two separate playthorughs... as for Vampyr, i couldn't finish it because it felt like a slog after about 10-12 hours....i really wanted to like the game, some very interesting concepts but with flawed execution...
I watched the Book of Mormon the day this came out. 2 hours before
I reckon with a few enhancements a 2nd game could be incredible 🔥
The supporting characters just needed a lil more TLC in their character models.
There seems to be some rule with video game videos on TH-cam that if you mention a bad video game or it's about one Mass Effect Andromada HAS to be brought up one way or another

I'm watching this before I download it.
Tell me what to do luke.
I tried on ps plus with no expectations and had a lot of fun. It's a vampire rpg and it succeeds at that.
You know your intros let us see how much of a likable person you are , seriously you are so grounded unlike most other TH-camrs trying too hard
Well considering our PC systems are so very close we have very different opinions on this game although I believe it could have been longer and it could have been more elaborate I do think it was a very great game considering it was a huge departure from their other game Life is Strange.

What console were you playing on? I've not had any of the loading problems you've mentioned on my Xbox one X
PS4 and PS4 Pro GOW edition.
@@LukeStephensTV ps4 pro shouldnt have very bad load times, maybe your just impatient.
His running posture and form is actually excellent for wearing minimally supportive shoes or being barefoot.
?
I did enjoy the game, even the combat and RPG mechanics and loved the side story quests. The only thing that disappointed me was the forced romance and lack of real choices in the main story as it's quite linear.
Yeah i remember the sceen where you start off having a brew with your mentor and mid discussion the characters profess their love for each other. Had to take a minute to get over the laughter after that
Still love the game though.
Hoping all issues with the first title is ironed out with a sequel, I would kill for a sequel. Adored this game.
Your videos are sooo good right now, keep your work and we will absolutely keep watching and loving your content and the community will grow.
Gambit896 man he gave no credit to the games good qualitys he nit picked alot and even then i haven't had any bugs just a few loading screen problems
You should a video on vampire masquerade Bloodlines as a good counter comparison
I just starting playing this on ps5 since the patch it’s really cool
It's definitely alot better.
Give this idea to CD Projekt red and they would have nailed it so perfectly it would be unbelievable!
I liked it the way it was.

Having great visions is so important for progression even if it's a "failure". Some of the best games built on something someone tried some time ago.
I wish we would frame failure more positive. You can only fail if you've tried something what you believed in.
It's a game i loved the concept of just to bad the delivery wasn't so great. i hope it gets a sequel to improve on a cool concept
I'm from the future. Luke has two kids now and is killing this TH-cam thing. 2023.
I got the game a few months ago on a Steam sale for around 15 euros and well, I loved it! The loading is much less of an issue on PC (there are only loading screens when entering some buildings) and yeah, there are other issues but it's a very enjoyable game if you get it on sale.
It's a very weird thing to say but to me the little issues the game had add to the charm of it all.

Both games are quirky tumblr girl shitholes
Played this at launch, on PC. Zero technical issues or glitches. Was the PS4 version that bad?
I played this game on my XBOX console (through XBOX Game Pass) and unlocked all its achievements. This game is rough, but something is genuinely precious at its core. If it had a better budget, more development time, and more refined and polished gameplay mechanics, this game would have kicked ass. This game had so much going for it, but so much of it felt tedious. I played through it multiple times, and the problems that you mentioned in this video really exposed themselves. A properly implemented New Game Plus mode would have made this game much more fun for numerous playthroughs and easier to manage. They didn’t even include it in an update.
Do technomancer next. I really wanted to get into it
I played it on PC and didn't encounter invisible enemies, bugged textures nor the loading while going around the map in over 20 hours. I think those are issues only related to consoles. All the other issues are valid though.
I played on a base ps4 and never ran into any major glitches(this was about a month after release), I dunno maybe I was just lucky.

@Dalle Smalhals okay mister sister
Sounds like the developer can learn a lot from this release - I think the next Vampyr game if it ever comes out could be awesome :)
They will probably make another game they surpassed their numbers of copies sold
Well when a saiyan is beat near to death, they get way stronger when they recover because of it. If this game is anything like that then im certain ill love the next game

Did it give a reason to why it was called vampyr instead of vampire
Vampyr is technically the classical spelling of the word....since "I" was not a largely or popular letter in dialect/alphabet or formally adopted in most cases. Spelling it with a "y" is also more occult than the modern secular spelling.
TorrB well shit, thanks
The name is just as edgy as the game
