The character development was insane! How is it still superior after ten years? This franchise literally went from the best and then slowly degrading in that aspect for every new Killzone.
It started with the fake e3 footage they tried to pass off as real gameplay back in 2005. First they tried to go with Halo Killer as it's marketing motto, Sony thought grouping it in with the other fake games of the ps3 E3 presentation of that year ( look up the trailers to these cancelled but were never ever actually in development, Killing Day, 8 Days, The Getaway 3 and Killzone) using fake pre-rendered cutscenes and trying to pass it all off as "gameplay" but when everyone outright asked they had no choice but to say "Oh it's run by the ps3, just 25 PS3s were running it for this one presentation...." but everyone for the next 6 months thought they were going to see games like Killzone 2 fake marketing stunt. After that people were kinda left with a cool IP that had mediocre marketing and design. Basically they took a cool world and never did anything with it except try to make it a cool trailer.
I don’t understand how this game is good when every time I fire my gun the characters Parkinson’s set in. On top of that look a Rico he’s literally a stereotype. Best game in the series my ass I’d rather play cod ghosts than this.
Shamus Bob At the end of the day, IDC what anyone says, but Killzone 2 is perhaps the best looking game of the 2000s. Better looking than GTA IV. I know it’s all cinematic effects that did it but that’s not the point, the game is just bloody good to look at. I love the graphics of KZ 1 2 & 3.
The script, storyline, characters, violence and language... They don't make them like they used to. This is how you portray a strong female character. Not superior in firepower or strength, more all the more so in swiftness, brilliance and temperance. Happy childhood memory.

Why couldn't Templar be the protoganist in the other games? He's such a better character than that artard Rico. Why they made him into the old man--commanding an entire invasion after only being a captain for some reason--who dies for no real reason.
He didn't die for no reason, he crashed the ship into the Helgan network. Shutting it down so any ISA who escaped would have a better shot at survival.

In the sequels he's celebrated and treated like a lovable mascot which I find more annoying. That said, I think Hahka would make a much more interesting protagonist than Sev. Could barely remember anything about that guy.
Back in 2007 when i was a kid - i have only 4 games on my ps2 - Gta Vice City, Gta Sa, 1st God of war & this one & for almost a year - i play hell out of those masterpieces - good times!
This is the only game that I could play from start to end. Even using each on the Warriors. Rico my favorite one. Second one Shadow Marshal Luger as Sniper mode.
This was one of my favourite games on ps2 I remember getting it for Christmas and Man I was super excited.. me and my cousin played it all the time we’d vs each other or play on the same team against the bots it was so much fun

How would one describe the Helghan accent? It to me sounded like the British accent with a slight hint of German accent in there. To this day it amazed me how they managed to make the Helghan so compelling.
They are 100% Brittish accents in the first and three games. Then they start switching to North American accents in Shadow Fall because Helghan gets destroyed in KZ3.
I bought this Killzone HD for the PS3 recently (2019). Boy does it suck. You kill zillions of helghan soldiers meaninglessly forever. It becomes super boring very quickly. I want to give Killzone 2 a try, but I couldn't stand playing this one. Thanks for the cutscenes... at least now I know what the story is about.
Dude I felt the same way got half way through and gave up super boring clunky controls constantly getting lost and walking around trying to figure out where to go this game was absolutely terrible I had to come here and watch it to know what was goin on I started on killzone 3 and that was awesome dont let this one ruin it for you
Dated it is, but I quite like the B-list acting and voice work, gives this game some character. More down to earth like the everyday man than the hyper polished stuff in Hollywood.
