Wii has a more powerful cpu, the xbox has greater fillrates/texture mapping/polygon generation, the Wii has more advanced rendering techniques. It's more akin to the same machine with faster revisions of the cpu and gpu. And that was the entire point. I don't think I entirely agree with that. I agree with beezie, the PowerPC Cpu was definitely more capable, compute processing power yields many advantages. Mifos, let's not get carried away. Nintendo has only stopped caring about power ever since the dramatically more powerful Gamecube was stupidly trampled by the technically inferior and hard to program for Ps2. At that point, it was like why bother, if ppl don't care about good hardware... And the Snes was anemic when it came to processing power which it definitely needed, so many games suffer from slowdown, even the Genesis which was 2 years older was a faster machine. And the Switch is a handheld, and a pretty capable one at that so I don't think your point goes across there.

Its worth noting that the PC version of KotOR II has been put up on Steam and features a number of improvements, like higher resolutions, achievements, bug fixes, and most importantly of all, easy support for a mod that actually reinserts a good chunk of the content that was originally cut.
most definitely one of my favorite systems of all time along with the gamecube! so underrated and one of the only systems that supported western RPGs at that time!!
I really want to start collecting. This console was amazing. So underrated in the retro gaming community, but I really think it will start to get popular relatively soon. This video brought back a lot of childhood memories too. Thank you.
Great list, you two! I remember sadistically playing halo2 (solo) on legendary and fighting for every inch. I also lived in Morrowind longer than I should have. But after growing up with the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale D&D series, it was cool to play a deep RPG in first-person (just missed Daggerfall). I'm still waiting on that Time Splitters sequel, too. Incredible shooter. And bioware before the buyout? How things have changed. 😔 Lastly, killer shirts, guys! I can't wait for the live-action Attack on Titan film! 👍
Out of context it could sound like he was referring to her graduating college, when really he was talking about how in general, players of Halo 1 also wondered how they made it through college while spending so much time playing Halo
Otagi 1 and 2, crazy taxi 3, shenmue 2, ninja gaiden black, the suffering 1 and 2, tony hawk pro skater 2x, sega soccer slam are just some other awesome games

I just recently bought my own Original Xbox off of Amazon and it will be my very first console that I fully own. Lots of good memories playing the Original Halo when I was little. I still have the disc in mint condition and it works.
From watching this I went on eBay and bought one since when they were out I never had one and they actually seem like the best console of that time in my opinion thanks for the great advice Metal Jesus and Kenzie
I remember getting my own Xbox controller for my 5th birthday I’m pretty sure it was the transparent duke or some sort of off brand see through one even tho I didn’t have an Xbox yet cuz my brother got one cuz we lived right next to my grandparents like you could literally run over there I’m like 30 seconds and we’d go over there every day and I’d play Xbox all the time me and my brother would play halo 2 and play the second mission over and over again cuz it was the only mission I was good at or didn’t scare me. Halo 2 was the first game I played there’s videos of me when I was 2 playing it with my dad and I still have my grandpas original special edition copy he passed away and it’s the only thing I personally have of his. The Xbox is such a nostalgic console for me
DUDE I HAVE THAT SAME SHIRT, WE BUY SHIRTS FROM THE SAME WEBSITES LOL. Love the Mario/Bowser shirt and the Doom/Ash vs Evil Dead one too! What a legend. Long time xbox fan and you introduced me to a bunch of games.
SSSHHHHH, NO IT DOESENT, IT ALREADY COSTS TOO MUCH FOR THE ORIGINAL GAME, THE LAST THING I WANT IS FOR THAT PRICE TO GO UP BECAUSE PEOPLE KNOW ITS ACTUAL WORTH!!!
I still play it. The combat where you control your actual hands was insane. The dark somber vibe of the game was really intriguing and left me very uncomfortable. I loved ever bit of it
Don't forget - Prince of Persia series - Splinter Cell - Star Wars Battlefront - Mercenaries, at least I thought it was good - Half Life 2 Also some racing/car games like - Burnout 3 or Revenge - Forza - PGR
GTA 3 Star Wars Battlefront 2 Fable ESPN NHL 2K5 Halo 1 and 2 SSX 3 NFL 2K3 Jetset Radio Future Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 Time Splitters: Future Perfect NHL 2004 Amped 1 and 2 Spider-man 1 & 2 GTA San Andreas are my great original Xbox games
That is a great find! I found a Sega Master System in the box at a thrift store. It was the deluxe edition that came with the 3D glasses. The only thing really missing was the game it came with. It wasnt on the floor yet so the manager sold it to me for 15 bucks. My hands were shaking because I could not believe what I just found!
I love my green Halo Xbox. A few weeks ago it wouldn't even power up, so I took that sucker apart and found 4 bulging capacitors. Replaced them and now it has new life...which makes me love it even more! I have some games in my amazon cart...Voodoo Vince, Oddworld Strangers Wrath, Toejam and Earl 3 and Stubbs the Zombie.
Dreamcast was discontinued March of 2001, Xbox was available in November of the same year. Microsoft supported Dreamcast with Windows CE, they were never competing against Sega, which is why Microsoft got a lot of Dreamcast games ported to the Original Xbox. www.tomsguide.com/us/dreamcast-xbox-sega-microsoft-games,news-5579.html
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was always one of my favorites. I was soo excuted when I found out that Microsoft made it Backwards Compatible with the XBOX ONE. It looks great. You can even play Spies vs Mercs and Online Co-Op via xLink Kai System Link since the XBOX ONE is compatible with Kai.
I still have my Xbox from 2006. I’ve switched out the DVD drive, changed the capacitors, installed a new power block and painted the console sport yellow including the gem and have RGB coming through the controller slots. Still okay it to this day and currently replaying Halo 2 and PGR 2.
Don't know why so many people hate external power supplies. They are easier to replace and removes a heat source out of the system. It also helps to save space for better cooling solutions...
Diablokiller999 most of the time the power supplies take up too much space in a room, and just add to a mess of wires which can be dangerous. It gets pretty annoying when I have to look for the power brick to most of the consoles I own. I'd rather take a wire from one console that's plugged into a wall and plug it into a different console. It saves time and space.
I have the Crystal Limited Edition Xbox which is the first ever gaming console I bought with my own money that I earned from work. The controllers already broke but I was able to fix one of them by taking parts from my other controller and replacing the cable from a cheap controller but the console still runs to this day! Sadly I do not have the games anymore but I kept the console anyway as it has a special place in my heart.
Great vid guys, only recently bought an original xbox again after having sold mine in 2003 or 2004.... I had totally forgotten what a beast of a machine it was for its time...playing it again feels as awesome as ever before, it’s def a keeper this time...
Hopefully buyers will softmod their Xbox or get a modded one shod with the Xecuter or Xenium modchip :-) This original baby started XBMC aka Xbox Media Center aka Kodi. One of the most robustly built consoles for its time. Mine is still running. Just finished Chronicles Of Riddick: Return To Butcher Bay
Mark you may have to trawl the Web for more info. I did the softmod in 2009 & I do believe a lot has changed from a tech perspective. The softmod is your best bet although you require a PC that has IDE ATA HDD interface & a CD/DVD-ROM drive that can read the Linux ISO burnt on a blank CD. Then you require about 2 hours of time & a few commands to be inputted. That's it. Note - Some CD/DVD drives cannot read the burnt CD.
I can imagine why you said that & you are right. But there is this unquantifiable & sublimely amazing feeling that you have truly unlocked the potential of your Xbox. There is a potent slice of nostalgia when I switch it on and it comes on and I... Am....believe it or not... Actually using it to read my comics in the CBR & CBZ format. & The pan and scan using the controller is flawless. Apart from that Halo 1 & 2, Ninja Gaiden, Conker, Dream fall, Syberia series & so many more awesome games makes you realise that this was the pinnacle of console evolution for its generation. Way ahead of its time in terms of quality and concept. Ok, I shall zip up :-)
Hello, Complete NOOB here. My original Xbox doesn't have a dashboard [a work mate gave it to me, for free]. Awesome video. I'm currently going for a full North American Original Xbox collection. So many great titles on the Xbox to check out for new Xbox collector's. Keep up the great work bro.
Growing up we had a huge finished basement and my dad turned it into a "movie theatre" with a projector that would project a huge display onto a wall (like 12 feet wide and 9 feet tall) and a state of the art surround sound system for 2006. We also had a giant L-shaped couch and 2 recliners down there, and like 6 bean bags. We could hook up our consoles to the projector (Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2 etc), so our house was the HUB. Man, I would have like 6-8 friends over and we would play Halo 2 at 4x-split screen slayer in brawling tournements against each other for hours in the theatre basement. A theatre and surround sound made me and my brothers quite popular haha.
The original Xbox is hands down my favorite system, when it came out it was revolutionary in so many ways, it brought home alot of awesome new gaming expiriences to the masses, and it's aged so well and resurfaced atleast to for myself as quite possibly the best way to emulate just about anything so open ended, I got mine running Linux w/xbmc, upgraded hard drive with practically every classic system with complete libraries from all regions running perfectly, but what's the crowning achievement is MAME, Coin ops ignite..simply amazing
Fable is a great game. I played through that entire series, with Fable 3 surprisingly being my favorite as you could REALLY be evil in that game especially as the king.
Xbox versions 1.0-1.5 have a bad clock capacitor that should be removed asap. They have a 100% fail rate and will leak out, possibly ruining your xbox.
Yeah I watched and figured out I have a 2005 v.1.6! Newer clock capacitor! Everything on mine is original,no modding or anything, but everything on and in my og is probably cleaner than what it was in 06. I keep it all dust free
iidk I was pretty young playing an xbox about 3-6 before my brother sold it... the games I remember him having is dead or alive 3 (which got me on the series)street ball halo 2 or 3 ( I played only Co/Op with my sister I was afraid of those weird alien things that made weird noises)
I used your eBay affiliate link on this vid to buy $200 in duke controllers and games (the two TimeSplitters, GTA VC , GTA SA, burnout revenge, TH underground). Thanks for the content!
+MRPyro Gaming What's funny is the number of people who bash the original Xbox's big controller, but if you compare it in size with a Dreamcast controller, it's not that much bigger & I don't recall anyone complaining about the size of the Dreamcast's controller.
Damn Kinsey is awesome. Such a friendly, positive lady. And no, Im not being one of those self embarrassing people who flirt with youtube hosts/hostesses. Im far from perfect, but Im not *that* sad :-) I just enjoy watching. Her positivity and attitude is infectious :-)
Well it depends on the games. I mean I can play like three decades of games on my PC + several console generations and it's only a small amount of games, that don't work on modern systems. And it doesn't use as much space as all those consoles you would need to play retro. But still, I never would get rid of my old consoles. Especially 16bit-area will always have a special place in my heart.
Should have mentioned that the older Xbox models famously have a problem with the clock capacitor leaking that can ruin the console, so it's a good idea to replace or remove it. The only thing it does is save the time and date for a few hours after being unplugged, so I just removed mine.
You missed "Rally Sport Challenge 2"... An amazing one, even sold included in console pack, highly rated, and is unbelivable that has not been continued!
i had to choose between that an colin m'crae rally. was really happy i went with rally sport challenge 2. still can't believe how good the weather effects, snow, dust etc were on an xbox!
Me and my friends had halo nights at my place about 2002-2005. I miss it really much. 4 big fat televisions that we carried in to a small room. With about 6-10 guys playing all night multiplayer. Man great times. Love this console bunch. Brings back alot of super good memories. And also a fun thing is that I sold my moped to afford the console back in the day. My favorite games was obviously Halo 1-2 but also Men of Valor, really funny multiplayermode with supermaps. Well I am ranting. Thx so much for all the info
+Crave88evarC And I agree with Kinsey about halo 1! Also my favorite. In fact Halo 2 was a bit of a let down for me. Halo 1 I beat without dying on legendary every level. You can say I played it alot. And I also play it now and again on xbox one Anniversary. :D

Hey and thanks, I've nearly got all the PS2 games on my "list", now you've made me want, no, *need* an original XBOX! They're pretty cheap down here in NZ too at the moment, feel I should get in while the buyings good :-)
Its worth noting that the PC version of KotOR II has been put up on Steam and features a number of improvements, like higher resolutions, achievements, bug fixes, and most importantly of all, easy support for a mod that actually reinserts a good chunk of the content that was originally cut.
most definitely one of my favorite systems of all time along with the gamecube! so underrated and one of the only systems that supported western RPGs at that time!!
Lastly, killer shirts, guys! I can't wait for the live-action Attack on Titan film!
👍
Love the outtake
I got an original Xbox for $50 at a retro game store. And forza Motorsport for $1 at the same store.
Matthew Walsh i got mine at savers for 10 dollars replaced the rubberband and thermal paste and now it works flawlessly.
where on earth do i find a rubber band in the og xbox?
p.s - savers gang
Bruce_Jenner amazon sells a 10 pack for about 5.00
No i mean as in since when is there a rubber band in the og xbox? i honestly have no idea it existed or what it's used for
Bruce_Jenner, could be referring to the dvd drive band.

"I don't know how I graduated"
"I'm sure a lot of people are probably wondering that too"
''I have no idea how I managed to finish collage!"
"I'm sure others are wondering as well"
Damn..!
Lol that was rude
Out of context it could sound like he was referring to her graduating college, when really he was talking about how in general, players of Halo 1 also wondered how they made it through college while spending so much time playing Halo
Otagi 1 and 2, crazy taxi 3, shenmue 2, ninja gaiden black, the suffering 1 and 2, tony hawk pro skater 2x, sega soccer slam are just some other awesome games
+Derpurs Machinest (Gamer88) Otagi is my childhood! love that game.
Eternal Rest love that series :-)
+Derpurs Machinest (Gamer88) I bought the ORiginal Otogi, is the second one good?
+Derpurs Machinest (Gamer88) i loved otagai. it was different in games that were just cloning each other. tho with these buyer guides. if you notice they loved all the games they posted. which leads a person to believe that this was a buyers guide/top game guide. disappointing.
Sono yeah its worth having :-)
The most powerful console of the 6th generation. I love it so much.
Nobody was talking about the ''Splinter Cell Serie's'' like Splinter Cell ''Chaos Theory'' one of the best xbox game seller of all time with a notes of 9.5 and 9 from a lot of video games shows...for my part it's really an awesome game, really realistic and genius!
The Opeth flag at the back of your room is still the best thing ever.
+Louis C.K “The eyes of the devil
Fixed on his sinners” - The Grand Conjuration
Thoughts on the newer prog-rock albums from them ?
+Louis C.K Eh. I've TRIED to like some of their newer jazzier stuff, but I miss the ANGER and METAL. It's just not the same for me unfortunately...
MetalJesusRocks They will go back to it eventually ;) My personal favorite album was Watershed. Hope they do something in the lines of that again.
+MetalJesusRocks I started to listen Opeth because of you....and I am not dissapointed at all, they sound amazing and unique.
The Xbox is such a nostalgic console for me
You guys never cease to be total class acts. You know your stuff and always impress. Not to mention you have good taste in games!
What website??? Bro I need the shirt in my life
I loved my XBox here in the UK. Halo 2 and Battlefront . so many memories :)

oogrooq you know what i have your ip address so shut the fuck up
Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay easily one of the greatest games ever made.
Samherman I played this recently , the 360 remaster version including the sequel escape on dark athena. really good game
The Riddick titles were pretty underrated.
I still play it. The combat where you control your actual hands was insane. The dark somber vibe of the game was really intriguing and left me very uncomfortable. I loved ever bit of it
@@KingsOfZeal PS3
@@NeverQuit87 PS3 version is almost unplayable, those loading screens every two minutes made me drop it
Don't forget
- Prince of Persia series
- Splinter Cell
- Star Wars Battlefront
- Mercenaries, at least I thought it was good
- Half Life 2
Also some racing/car games like
- Burnout 3 or Revenge
- Forza
- PGR
Robert T Mercenaries was great!

Totally found my Halo edition XBOX with the green controller at Goodwill for $5 :)
Adam Russo That's lucky!
It's a chain of thrift stores. I almost didn't even see it. It walked by and saw green out of the corner of my eye and was like "holy crap!"
Adam Russo I got the two halo green controllers. I love them lol and yes he is right because I bought two and one was missing the breakaway cable
Your lucky you found it on the floor instead of behind the glass or put on eBay!
Man, this is just the best channel on TH-cam. No exceptions.
I just picked one up for $25! Its black with the green blob tribal type of graphic! I am pretty psyched!
I love Kinsey, she seems so sweet! she should start her own channel ;)
Ooooh another Kinsey video ♡♡♡♡
Gotta say my fav controller was the air flow controller. great for keeping the hands cool. keep it up guys! ROCK ON!.
Just got a halo Xbox with the halo controller for $55 👌🏼
Ace where???
Nice my dude, I got mine for $99, I did get halo 1 and 2 for free tho
Franz Strohein at GameStop
Jet Set Radio was a beast of a game

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was always one of my favorites. I was soo excuted when I found out that Microsoft made it Backwards Compatible with the XBOX ONE. It looks great. You can even play Spies vs Mercs and Online Co-Op via xLink Kai System Link since the XBOX ONE is compatible with Kai.
Has anyone else played blinx the time sweeper? It's an extremely obscure game I really haven't seen much gameplay of it on youtube
The 2nd game is beautiful because it has multiplayer
The Gamma Bros. it's a brilliant game - I bought my Xbox to play Blinx.
Zoë Kirk-Robinson DUDE nice man, I'm trying to buy one, theres a game store by my house that sells all kinds of old video games
The Gamma Bros. Cool. Don't pay over the odds and have fun. It's a great console.
One of these days I'm going to have to pick up a copy of the sequel.
I still have my Xbox from 2006. I’ve switched out the DVD drive, changed the capacitors, installed a new power block and painted the console sport yellow including the gem and have RGB coming through the controller slots. Still okay it to this day and currently replaying Halo 2 and PGR 2.
Morrowind.... The game that got me completely hooked on RPG's. Love it to death. My main character crossed the 700hr mark :)
Timesplitters Future Perfect online is awesome, got to love Xlink kai
how do you set it up
TimeSplitters Future Perfect is good I hope they make a remastered version on the PS4 and the XBOX1.
Don't know why so many people hate external power supplies. They are easier to replace and removes a heat source out of the system. It also helps to save space for better cooling solutions...
+Diablokiller999 Amen
Diablokiller999 most of the time the power supplies take up too much space in a room, and just add to a mess of wires which can be dangerous. It gets pretty annoying when I have to look for the power brick to most of the consoles I own. I'd rather take a wire from one console that's plugged into a wall and plug it into a different console. It saves time and space.
It’s difficult to find replacements if the system isn’t common and not everyone has the space for one, especially if they have small bedrooms.
I like how the N64 technically had a power brick, but it was hidden withing the console
learned a lot of information about the original xbox thx ;)
It's an honor @metaljesusrocks is wearing our tee! TeeNoEvil.com :)
Thanks so much for the support!
+Tee No Evil Thanks so much for sending me some awesome t-shirts to wear! You guys KICK ASS! \m/
Wasn't it Escape from butcher bay?
+MlgPixelBoss My bad mate! Escape it was!
Ok, I shall zip up :-)
Hello,
Complete NOOB here. My original Xbox doesn't have a dashboard [a work mate gave it to me, for free]. I don't know much about the Xbox but mine say "Xecuter2" just before loading games so, does that mean that it's been modded? And what about the dashboard, how do I find it? Please let me know. Thank you kindly
For the original Xbox, you should definitely get
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Otogi 1 and 2
Ninja Gaiden Black
Dead or Alive 3
Dead or Alive Ultimate
Jade Empire

GunValkyrie
Dino Crisis 3

"The Mountain Dew XBox had such a bizarre color!"
(almost exactly matches the wallpaper)
Nice AoT shirt! BTW I need to buy this console.
Love your original xbox videos. I literally just removed the failing clock capacitors.
Fable is a great game. I played through that entire series, with Fable 3 surprisingly being my favorite as you could REALLY be evil in that game especially as the king.
13:50 He just low Key burned her, lmfao.
Xbox versions 1.0-1.5 have a bad clock capacitor that should be removed asap. They have a 100% fail rate and will leak out, possibly ruining your xbox.
How do you find out what version you have?
Check out a youtuber called TechnoOnTop, he's got a pretty good guide to identifying which version your Xbox is. Lots of cool console mods as well.
Yeah I watched and figured out I have a 2005 v.1.6! Newer clock capacitor! Everything on mine is original,no modding or anything, but everything on and in my og is probably cleaner than what it was in 06. I keep it all dust free
The biggest problem though is that goddamn clock capacitor
Gamers beware
@Scorpi O easy for you to say
@Scorpi O again easy for you to say
@Scorpi O mine has it removed and it's hard modded and uses a 2TB HDD
Just finished my 12th play through of KOTOR on the box, love the system!
I love Kinsey, she seems so sweet! she should start her own channel
Every time I see Kinsey's face on the thumb nail I immediately toss what ever I'm doing aside and click on the video frantically =:O)(
+munk109 And then you get a gamer wood. lol
All hail the sex machine that is Kinsey!
Spin the beat, Professor K! Oh man JSRF was my absolute favorite!
iidk I was pretty young playing an xbox about 3-6 before my brother sold it... the games I remember him having is dead or alive 3 (which got me on the series)street ball halo 2 or 3 ( I played only Co/Op with my sister I was afraid of those weird alien things that made weird noises)
Big props for this and all of your xbox videos. The vids helped me add great games to my xbox collection!
I used your eBay affiliate link on this vid to buy $200 in duke controllers and games (the two TimeSplitters, GTA VC , GTA SA, burnout revenge, TH underground). Thanks for the content!
I love the original xbox controller
+MRPyro Gaming Same here :3 I have never understood people hating it.
+metelidrummer I swear it's basically the same
+MRPyro Gaming What's funny is the number of people who bash the original Xbox's big controller, but if you compare it in size with a Dreamcast controller, it's not that much bigger & I don't recall anyone complaining about the size of the Dreamcast's controller.
+MaxSpender at least you can reach all the buttons on the dreamcast
You forgot to mention that you needed a dvd adapter that plugs in the Xbox to unlock the dvd watching feature.
More Kinsey!
Yo MetalJesus, Just wanna say that I'm a huge fan of this channel and your videos, Keep Up the Good Work :)
The Xbox I have has the disc drive with the two holes in it
Damn Kinsey is awesome.
Such a friendly, positive lady.
And no, Im not being one of those self embarrassing people who flirt with youtube hosts/hostesses. Im far from perfect, but Im not *that* sad :-)
I just enjoy watching. Her positivity and attitude is infectious :-)
"Can't be Nintendo with them round buttons." hahahaha
Stubbs was released on PC later, is not an exclusive.
+Lord Alfajor its an exclusive console game at least
+Lord Alfajor True. Sadly it doesn't run on modern systems anymore :(
And there's the problem with PC. I can go grab my copy of Stubbs and pop it in my Xbox and play away.
+Dodi1932 Whats your point?
Should have mentioned that the older Xbox models famously have a problem with the clock capacitor leaking that can ruin the console, so it's a good idea to replace or remove it. The only thing it does is save the time and date for a few hours after being unplugged, so I just removed mine.
You missed "Rally Sport Challenge 2"... An amazing one, even sold included in console pack, highly rated, and is unbelivable that has not been continued!
i had to choose between that an colin m'crae rally. was really happy i went with rally sport challenge 2. still can't believe how good the weather effects, snow, dust etc were on an xbox!
if only the gamecube had the breakaway cables, would have been nice to have on your last trip
I love you two laughing at having dial-up in 2001. Meanwhile I had dial-up until 2011.
:(
THE MORE YOU KNOW.
I like putting my favourite sound tracks and listening to music in gta vice city and San andreas driving around in a car on xbox original.
Hello my friend. How are you?
I have a project to capture gameplay from all 998 og xbox game library.
Could you check out the channel? We already have more than 250 games with recorded videos.
It would be great to receive your feedback, and maybe, if you like the channel, have you as a subscriber.
Thank you very much.
