6 months sober here. I have no desire to drink alcohol again. Strange, being around alcohol and people drinking don't trigger me at all. It's like the "desire-for-alcohol" switch has been turned off. Thank you for this content.

At what point did you really start feeling like this?

@@christopherhall2571 The turn off varies for everybody but I would suggest that after 2 years of sobriety you should start facing your anchors head on and go into pubs and beer tents, gigs etc and face your fears. You will be surprised how you feel with these people. I felt like look at them they are unaware they are drugged and doing silly things. I feel above them and free from all the stupidity to go with drinking poision for fun.

Hi Veronica, I just stumbled onto your videos as they came into my feed yesterday. Thankyou so much for all you're doing to help alcoholics stay sober. I'm on day 77 now, going to AA religiously. I'm grateful that my wife and all our friends are all very moderate drinkers who never get drunk and are very supportive of my sobriety. I don't miss alcohol at all and thanks to your words I'm now working on my emotional sobriety. Thanks for mentioning that some people will try to sabotage my sobriety as it's happening in my working life right now. I now realise that I was an alcoholic from my very 1st drink at the age of 13. It's taken me 45 years to realise I have a problem and through Gods grace I'm very grateful to finally be able to do something about it. Gonna keep watching your videos now, very helpful. Many thanks from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Alcohol is a problem and does not agree with me but now being sober I see much more clearly the people who are the problem and would never agree with me. My sobriety became a threat to those people.

This is a GREAT episode. So glad you two touched on sabotage because it is real out there when trying to stop. Especially trying to stop with golf buddies.

Thank you! Your message is so encouraging and supportive! Stay strong sober ones! The superpower is remembering the negativity is coming from the other people thinking it’s all about them and like you said a mirror reflecting TRUTH they aren’t willing to see!
    Blessings 🙏❤️

I have reached out to many people. All of them have said “you don’t have a problem, you’re not that bad.” I even reached out to an old pastor who preaches sobriety. All he said was to come home. I’m guessing I’ll have to go to his church to receive his help. Haven’t heard from him since. I just don’t understand 😟

Fantastic episode! I’m only 7 days sober and my husband is still drinking heavily despite promising to sober up with me. He doesn’t sabotage me and is supportive. Thanks for the amazing content!

I’ve been sober over 8 years through Alcoholics Anonymous, but can certainly pick up some of the tools suggested in her episodes.

Misery loves company, and some drinkers are miserable about their own drinking.

I am over 3 yrs sober & my mates have accepted me as a non drinker. I have a new identity. Funny thing is I have noticed that they all drink less when I am with them.I gave up in 2020 & lock down immensely helped.

This is great information. Have you seen Fostering Resilience and Dr. KJ Foster? She also provides a lot of great info.

I find drinkers boring! I do way more fun things now that I stopped drinking.

Better to be boring than brain-dead and silly!
