That Imperial March was so funny lol and well, cool. Nice job on the helmet! Been following you from the start, and can’t wait to start my own project!
@@IceBlazeMC Hah. A positive comment about my banjo playing? where you have you been my whole life. The opening chords are just Gm to Ebm. Then when you get back to the last G just emphasis the notes of the melody to the time. I know that's not a great explanation, but, I think I just looked up the sheet music for the chords and then looked up a guitar tab for the melody and just fudged it. EDIT: I made a IG post right around the time this video came out (Dec. 28th, 2017)where I play it. It looks like in the video I'm just playing an open G chord not Gm. Check out that post and you can see how I play the basic melody. IG: @PatchBOTS
heya patchBOTS, I was the one that asked about how to get the armor a little while ago, sadly I don't really have the type of money to fully purchase and time to make a custom build yet cuz I'll soon be transferring from high school to college but I still thank you on these videos I used this video here to perfect my Robotics team helmet and the weathering turned out amazing and I hope it'll be a eye catching cosmetic item and I'll definitely re-watch this whole playlist on how to make my own custom trooper in future my dude, I hope you'll get into the 501st smoothly and that it'll be a awesome experience
Hey Justin, Thanks for following up. I'm glad these videos were able to help you! And don't worry man. This is a super expensive hobby. I wasn't in a position to spend money on this kind of thing until my late 20s. You'll have all the time in the world to get your build and subsequent builds happening.
Hey dude sweet project. I'm always excited when you post a new video. Someday I'll get around to making my own. Just a thought, maybe add some blaster marks. You have the air brush so it would be an awesome addition. If you're going for a comic accurate helmet then maybe not. But I did some on some projects in school and it was great.
Yeah good suggestion. I have a couple small mini-blaster marks on there, lol. I'm too chicken to go full bore. I'm going reserve the monster mega blast marks for the armor! Thanks for checking out the channel!
Is there another paint option for the blue thats approvable. For some reason i can't find the blue anywhere and the few places i could said it was out of stock and wouldn't be replaced. The link in the description doesn't have it any more either.
Yeah man, that's a big issue nowadays. Not even just for blues. Krylon just did a major overhaul of all their "fusion" stuff. i used "White - Satin finish" for the whole build and the new satin white is real bad. super liquidy and runny. I've been really bummed out with Krylon lately. Anyway to answer your question; I think the go to for most people has been Krylon "True Blue." It's definitely different, but approvable. Regardless of what color you end up going with I'd check with your local 501st GML for approv-ablility.
@@PatchBOTS Alright thanks you so much. I was really unsure and didn't want to mess it up. For the Other pieces of blue that you're using for the other approvable costumes, are you going to use true blue or do you have some global blue left that you are going to use?
@@noahsteiner5052 Yeah, I have 1 full can and one open one left. I'm thinking for the 4/5 helmets and few armor parts that should be enough. If i run out i''ll probably just do my best to manually color match and airbrush. But I think I'll be okay.
@@PatchBOTS Alright i was just curious. I guess I'll go with true Blue. Your electronics and droid videos are really good as well. I love the channel! When are the next clone vids coming out? Im really excited!
I'm definitely going to continue the video series through the building of the armor. I have one more video on the helmet where I'm going to add in all the electronics, but then it's on to the armor! Then the accessories (pauldron, weapons, etc)
I've personally never tried, but I know a lot of people do. Specifically Matt Hobbs(droid builder, most famous for his Wall-E build) uses them almost exclusively and has AMAZING results.
Sir, you did a awesome job on this helmet, i got to say i am a bit jealous ;) Great series, hope you will do a lot more videos in the future. Greetings from Bavaria!
Thanks! Not sure what you mean by "round chin pieces" if you mean the little black greeblies with the silver mesh; I made them myself. You can purchase similar ones from Sanotized Creations. The neck brim isn't on all helmets. It's on the movie version, but I think helmets are approvable without them. Check with your local garrison if that's a concern. Thanks for watching!
This is actually a resin cast from Sanotized Creations (find them on facebook). If you're looking for a 3D model, this one looks pretty good: www.etsy.com/listing/642774342/new-hd-clonetrooper-phase-2-helmet-files?ref=hp_rv
@@adamkitbashes8067 I got it from Sanotized Creations (can be found on Facebook). He sells casts of the EVO3 helmet (with EVO3s permission). So if you're in the US you might consider EVO3 to save on international shipping. If you are in the EU consider Sanotized Creations (same helmet).
There are many vendors of Resin/Fiberglass kits. IN my opinion the best of the best are EVO3 helmets in the US, or Sanotized Creations helmets in the EU.
have you looked into RC car weathering kits there cheep and they look good for dirt and grime also check out chosplaychris's Chanel and use some of his tricks, he is a diy master and his cosplay stuff looks like it belongs in a movie they look so real its beautiful but also he is a aussie diy cosplayer genius trust me he is good. also you made me have a idea i'm making a arc trooper that didn't fallow order 66 and had his chip removed and now is on the run and kicking imps ass left and right. the armor is baced on phase 1, phase 1.5, and phase 2 armor types (if you don't know the 1.5 armor its the experimental phase 2 armor many arc troopers where during the clone wars look it up) but also commando armor and other specialty armors that i think look cool with some attachments that i like and weapons i like also. his personality is a mix of alpha 17, commando 07(sev), fives, Rex, Wolffe, echo, blitz, Cody and colt serious in battle and on business but when not in combat hes chill and served under a Jedi but now he fights the empire and looks bad ass while doing it.
I am liking your videos I am a 501st clone my self it’s interesting to see how people do weathering different
Thanks man! yeah, i love seeing ohter people's builds for the same reason> there are so many different styles, it's a lot of fun

Your bucket came out looking great!! I’m building a ARC trooper right now and after watching your videos I’m going to try your weathering techniques.
Awesome video as always!
