Before this I was genuinely wondering how folks managed to make battle damage on their kits. If I go through with my project next year, I'll be making my guy a "Shiny" all the same
how about a self character clone trooper that you made the story about and what armor you have like if there in the 501st or a custom clone legion that would be cool like comander patch or something wouldnt that be cool.
What is your suggestion for the phase two blacks series clone helmet? I bought one and I am wanting to paint it into ARC Trooper Jessie helmet but do t know what to do
I bought a resin helmet kit from a prop builder. They are pretty widely available. If you're in the US check out EVO3 on facebook, if you're outside the US check out Sanotized Creations on facebook.
Finished armor is kinda custom to the person so you'd have to work with someone directly, not just order from a site. Check out Cole Brant Prop Shop on Facebook, DW Designs also does this kind of thing I think
Yes yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. I had a discussion with some other builder's and the general thinking is you must first decide how you are going to approach the build; do you want to do a direct comic book reference (in which case I would need a different helmet, different style macrobinoculars etc), do you want to do a movie style clone or do you want to do an animated clone. The way I approached it was to do a movie style clone. This means I must follow the CRLs with regard to the movie style guidelines. i.e. the style of helmet, the measurments of the colorings etc. There are a ton of gray areas that exist when adapting the comic character to the movie style. A perfect example of this is the X on the forehead. It's in the comic. And it could be added to the movie style without violating any of the guidelines, so I put it in. Bottom line: The movie style guidelines are numero uno and the comic reference is a guide. Thanks for the comment!
Whatever finish paint you choose will be over-ridden by the clear coat you put on the end. So if you painted gloss then covered it with a matte clear coat it would be matte. I knew in the end I would be weathering it then covering with a matte clear coat (I figured weathered helmets wouldn't be glossy), so I went with a non-gloss paint because I feel like the weathering would stick better.
If you're asking why there are no greeblies on the helmet, they are going to be added after I weather it. If you're asking why I say "GREEBLIES!" check out part 4 of the series.
Good tip for using white paint on taped off sections. Wish I would've seen this a couple days ago.
Patrick, thanks for all of your work documenting your builds, it's very much appreciated. *greeblies*
You've got it my man, thanks for watching!
Excellent. Painting tips are gold. Thanks
No problem!
Good job! painting these helmets are so satisfying.
Thanks! Yeah you're not kidding. I'm really enjoying this project so far!
Thanks you for these videos. If i ever do a helmet, i will come back to watch how do it.

@10:55 there was no *GREEBLIES!* voice ! This is unfair! This is an outrage!
garrett verville Calm down
It was bound to happen eventually!

Excellent work! I'm so glad I found your channel, especially for the droid building.
Thanks man! Yeah, I've been neglecting poor Chopper, but I'm back on him now. Hopefully a new video soon!

Where do I find the costume reference library? I am about to do both a 501st clone, and a jango fett helmet.
What did you use to cover the visor so it wasn’t covered in paint
nice video
How does the visor/front of the helmet not get messed up by the paint or does it go away over time?
sorry for the late reply. The visor was put in after I did the painting. And they are totally replaceable.
I cant find the stencil sticker you used for the tube stripes anywhere. where did you find them?
You can get them on the "continuous items for sale" thread on the Clone Detachment Forums
Did u buy a toy Clone Trooper helmet or did u make the Clone Troopers helmet yourself

Can someone send me the link for the cheek stencils from 9:42 ? I'm having a hard time navigating the forum.

PatchBOTS Thank you
Do you know a website where they sell finished armor with straps paint and all that stuff?

How did you get the visor?
Why not krylon gloss?

I’m having a problem finding global blue paint has now evolved into true blue
Where did u get tge microbinoculars
I made them. Check out part 5 of the series
Wait? Isn't that commander Appo? Who served before Bow as the commander of the 501st, but was brutaly murdered by a Jedi?
Appo doesn't have Binoculars. And they have slightly different armor.
@@patrickstefanski huh... didn't knew that... thank u! :^)

Helmet Link?
I honestly don’t know why he didn’t like the cheek stripes it looked good it was already weathered.
In hind sight I probably could have left it as it was. But when something looks weathered before you do the weathering you get nervous, hah.
PatchBOTS Oh that makes sense
Where do you find clone armor
