The thing is Idc how evil a character is, what determines my hatred is if they own up to it. The evil Queen knows she's evil and revels in it, whilst Snow White is a bad too but she acts like she isn't. That's why I love the Evil Queen.
Yeah, Snow White is an hypocrite, while the Evil Queen is not afraid to be herself and doesn't hide how evil she is. That is actually a very common theme in fairytales, where the hero can do bad things but is still regarded as a hero, while a villain does bad things and is punished by that.

@@legospideyznot really, a kingdom is really just a country with a king or a queen as the leader and their descendant (or other family members if dead) are meant to take over the kingdom after them
not everyone needs "royal blood", only the leader has to
the rest can just be peasants (just like most people under a monarchy)

I love that Matthew spends the entire time confused as to why the staff are just ignoring/forgetting the presence of the evil queen. They have spent every minute so far trying to turn Raven into her mother and have classes to train the next generation of evil. They taught her to be what she is. They do not care.
Giles is siding with the rebels, im sure they just trust snow white & is just oblivious😭
They also trapped her in the mirror and "assure" that she wouldn't escape. The Evil Queen is out for some reason and it seems like she just came after a Lil vacation
Ngl if they're gonna train someone to be evil. They should also celebrate that the student is finally evil. Like why isn't the schl celebrating Evil Queen's evil maniac mentality when their whole goal is to make a kid that evil? Won't it make Raven want to be evil more?
It's interesting that Faybelle idolizes the Evil Queen when the latter stole the former's mother's role as the villain of her story by being the one to put the Sleeping Beauty to sleep. But then again Faybelle really wants to become the best Dark Fairy and being mentored by the greatest villain of all time would allow her to get just that. In fact, that is the reason why Faybelle dislikes Raven, since she not only is daughter to the greatest villain ever and has the best villainous destiny, but she really doesn't want anything to do with it. It's actually very similar to what Duchess is going through, since she resents those who have happily ever afters but don't want them, while she is stuck with an awful fate.
Snow White and the Evil Queen are technically the most powerful characters/monarch in the EAH Universe. Basically how Apple is the ‘leader’ of the Royals and Raven for the Rebels.
That’s why the 2 are so hyped up with their destiny’s. Apple wants her destiny as the future Queen not just of her story but the Fairy Tale world and same goes to Raven, the most evil and powerful being/villain.
I would like to make a clarification that the whole royal and rebel thing isn’t exactly a side picking that existed because of snow or evil queen it was made first by raven and apple, Raven who when she refused to sign was made leader of the rebels even tho she did not want to be.
But they *are* addressed as either royals or rebels since the beginning of the show, with royals being those with typically happy stories and rebels being sort of antiheroes. "Rebel" only gained a more literal meaning after Raven didn't sign and you could very literally rebel against your destiny.
This is literally my favorite set of episodes in ever after high

I think a lot of people forget where Apple (and also most of the characters of this show) are coming from : a place that, for generations, is following the same path of "Must get your destiny". It doesn't excuse the thing they do, especially Apple, but when you look at her mom, you can see she lived her entire life being compared to her, being put on a special rank just because of her destiny, and her mother is manipulative as hell. Apple truly believes that her only worth is her destiny, her mom probably told her horrible stories and since young, inserted the ideas of "Raven MUST be the Evil Queen for you to have a good life, she wants it too"
Like every characters : Kitty wanted her mother's approval so much she did horrible things, Briar realised THIS YEAR what her destiny would mean but before she hadn't really thought of that, etc
It's not helped by the principal enforcing this rule bc for him, it's the safe thing to do
It's also why this show is so good : it takes people like Raven (who just wants a life that is hers), Cerise (her parents didn't follow their destiny) and Darling, to change things, to open others people's eyes, because until now, they only had one side of the story (joke implied)
And as to why no one is concerned about the Evil Queen : the propaganda of Snow White is biiiiig. She is considered the most powerful, just because she is the Hero of her story, and the people, having been told again and again of the stories, think she is all powerful in the face of the Evil Queen
Snow White is very good at manipulating people, can't imagine what it must be to be her child...
It doesn't excuse the actions Apple (or other characters) took, it just helps understanding the characters better : they aren't all black and white like they themselves think they are, they are complex and young and very real for a story
That's why I love this show so much, it talks to real life issues and people on many ways
Honestly we can assume that for show apple but in the books it was stated that apple fell down a well and realized her life can change at any moment so she became desperate for her destiny, I don’t know why snows persona was changed completely in DG
Apple’s selfish motives aren’t completely bad either she’s badly mentally damaged and because of her trauma goes to insane lengths nothing wrong with her seeking safety

I love how Mathew called Daring getting sucked into the Booking Glass almost immediately, I laughed so hard. His reaction this entire video to Apple basically being blackmailed and having the mentality of "I'm going to get something out of this deal" is golden, I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. To make the Nevermore size change more clear- just as maddie's dragom has like cotton candy powers and another one has ice powers and stuff like that, Nevemore's power is to change sizes from baby to teen to adult, and it's her own uniqe power, the other dragons can't to that.
I knew Mathew was going to love Raven's "I'm angry, Apple" speech. I can't wait to see his reaction to the next parts!
My favorite doll that I had was the dragon games darling charming. I was so devastated when I realized I got rid of her and regretted it so much. Luckily, I was able to find one that’s completely brand new and that exact same doll and I felt so whole knowing that I had my favorite childhood toy back in my arms.
Evil vs unknowing narcissist is so fun to watch! Snow is ignorant to her narcism while the evil queen fully embraces it! its fun watching a character who completely embraces being evil while the narcissist who is unaware is both interesting to watch and frustrating and makes me hate her more. I love the evil queen who is unapologetically evil and find Snow frustrating and hate more because she denies that she is like the evil queen too and can't admit it. each episode the story gets better! I loved these episodes and storyline! there are a few shows that I get sucked in immediately while others can take a while, I got sucked in immediately! This was my favorite season and storyline- I found the most interesting and complex of all the seasons - I enjoyed all of them! Please continue and finish the show !

Well they aren't really good and evil. It’s more like Punch-In Villains but they live with the consequences.
Like the school specifically teaches students to be evil and do the crimes they imprison them for.
A bunch of their staff is kinda classic villains.
Snow White and The Evil Queen are essentially their most successful alum.
Of course the school is happy to see them compete. And they expect things to go wrong but the heroes will save the day because that's the narrative they've been perseving.
I don't know if it's intentional but the Evil Queen blackmailing Apple while brushing her hair could be a call back to Snow White (the story)
except the comb is a brush and the poison is blackmail in a way i guess ??
In a society that seems to value following your destiny, Snow White and the Evil Queen followed their destined roles very very closely so I think that’s why they’re so well liked 😊

in my opinion the winning = evil is less about the joy of winning making you evil but enjoying someone else losing and defeating them.

I think Apple lashing out is still shitty but also understandable considering where she is rn. Not excusable just understandable lmao She is kind of backed in a corner and she still wants to hold onto a childish idea that her and Raven can both have a happily ever after if they just go along with parts of their story (because we’ve established it doesn’t have to happen exactly like the original by this point). And Apple is obsessed with meeting her mother’s expectations and so anything that would threaten that is scary. (Again, her mother is just awful and very in the wrong for putting sooo much pressure on Apple to be perfect.) And of course she’s being manipulated by the evil queen. Mentally she’s pretty unstable at this part of the story.
And now Raven is in a bad situation too where her mother is actively trying to sabotage her reputation. Bad times.
This special continues to get better so I’m excited for you to see the rest.

For how concerned they were I kind of connected it to them not really caring because they've had raven around for years so they think it'll just be like that or they're used to thinking someone evil is around. The only people seeming relatively concerned is Raven because she knows her mother and has been the "evil" the schools been worried about and Darling because she's only just joined when Raven isn't seen as bad if I'm correct so she doesn't hold the schools same attitude

Tbh i dont really see the evil queen as evil. Small tidbit but the parents of the eah characters arent the original fairytale characters their past eah students just following their destiny. And thats what evil queen is doing is just following her destiny but trying to chsnge it so she has a happy ending
The evil queen is pretty much evil she doesn’t care about others and has one goal: to take over the world with her daughter wholesome as it is she’s also pretty abusive towards raven and tends to be narcissistic

This is whwt everyone expects of her, like raven she likely had no choice to what she wanted her destiny to be. And when she does what everyone wanted of her she's locked up and hated for eternity. Everything she does after that is trying to find a happy ending in the only way she knows how, being evil

Idk if you’ve delved into the fandom at all, but I like the theory that Apple and Raven were switched at birth and that subconsciously Apple suspects it, which is why she has the selfish evil streak where Raven has the inherent goodness. It also kinda explains why Apple pushes so hard for Raven to be evil and sign the book, and why the evil queen seems to glom onto apple kinda

A suggestion for you to react to would be to do empires the musical. It's not really your thing, but I love it, and I feel like it would be fun for you to watch it. For anyone that doesn't know, empires the musical is based off of empire smp, a server where 12 minecraft creators tried to build their own empires, while making aliances, trades, and having wars.
Matthew going on about how Apple is kind of being evil is hilarious. Especially because he doesn't know the fan theory that the evil queen swapped Apple and Raven at birth to put her daughter on the throne, which would explain why apple doesn't have black hair like her mother and is able to justify all her actions even if there is no actual reason, and Raven only wants to help people.
Edit: also him not remembering that Raven also nearly freed the Evil Queen she was just lucky Nevermoore was there to stop her. The evil queen is a master manipulator using everyone's fears against them.
