As I understand, in regular humans, the brain has 4 types of memory it uses for storing information, and when you have amnesia, the problem is typically with 1 of the 4. If you forget information about yourself (name, where you are from, what you've been doing, how you got here, your password, etc.), then the problem is in your Episodic Memory, but your Semantic Memory (general information) could still be intact, letting you remember what a phone is, how to speak, etc.
Plagg is like the favorite kwami of many Miraculers because he is both comic relief and a well of wisdom all in one. His lazyness and cheese obsession can always light up any episode. Yes, he is chaotic and his erratic behavior is what caused many catastrophes throughout History... But when it counts, Plagg can always come up with great wise advices... most of them in form of cheese metaphors and comparisons.
I am one of the very few that have him as my least favorite character since he is selfish, a liar, greedy, and willing to destroy the world over some cheese and doesn't face any punishment for his actions. The only good think about him is that he's funny. thats it.

I think it's both. In one of the finals and she gets a lucky charm she said "I'm not seeing any clues" as she doesn't know what to do. She gets little clues/hints but she still has to figure out what they mean and how to solve it. That's really smart/impressive.

The butterfly miraculous greatest restriction as well as peacock one is the fact that you need the right emotion to do what you want. But as long as you have it those miraculous are able to do basically anything
It took Adrien and Marinette 5 whole seasons to realize their love for each other. this episode is also released, where they realize their mutual love in one day.
To be fair, Adrien only starts falling in love with her at the end of season 3 in Puppeteer 2. And only realizes his feelings at the start of Season 5 in the like 5th episode I think.

The ladybugs only revert things directly affected by the villains and heroes. Since the picture was taken after they changed back, and ladybug didn't accidentally destroy it or something, the ladybugs didn't touch the phone.
There is three things that influence the looks and the powers of an akumatized person: 1 the person themselves, their own appearance and personality 2 the object the akuma got in (most of the times it is used as the weapon, but not all the time) 3 what exactly made the person feel so negative to the point of getting akumatized, this is the main one I'd say And about the picture: the "miraculous ladybug" doesn't exactly change everything to bedore the fight started, but it's almost that, it reverses the damage caused by the villain, that picture wasn't one of these things, but the memory loss was
@@justcallmecat Not that uncommon. In season 5, Hawkmoth distributed superpowers sometimes before and sometimes after akumatization. Because of this, some of them had slightly different versions of these abilities. So there will be about 10 villains. Not that it's a lot, but it's not uncommon.
I think that the people on this bus didn't get mad at them for being a supervillain. One because most of them have been Akumatized. Two after a little bit most of Paris knows what Akumatized is and understands that it's not the people's fault that they were turned into a supervillain, they know of and blame hawk moth the real villain.
they're also all good friends and get along so there's that too. they know alya and nino wouldn't intentionally cause them harm, unlike someone like chloe.
So just so you are aware That little vision she has when she sees certain things in red with dots isn't part of her powers It's just her using her brain to conclude what she needs to use to get out oof a certain situation And she's not the only one who does that Many other characters do that with their own motifs It's not superpowers It's just being smart for a moment
The Miraculous Ladybug superpower is able to repair anything... Literally anything, even bring people back from death... as long the damages have been done DURING the battle and is related to the villain they are fighting. Because of that, even if the Miraculous Ladybug can repair anything, it doesn't mean it will repair anything. The photo Alya took had nothing to do with the battle (since it was over), so it was not erased.
I like this episode a lot and it's just sad man because I love this dynamic way more than whatever the rest of the show has trainwrecked into and I know it would never have happened but my hot take is that they shouldn't have gotten their memory back, we need more amnesia plots where the character's memory stays lost and they just have to build a new life. to be fair about chat he isnt really that smarmy about his crush. like he's obvious about his feelings definitly and he'll flirt but he does genuinely believe she's amazing and she will banter back at times. I think the difference is he likes expressing his feelings because he doesnt get to just say things bluntly as his civilian self and not care if he looks ridiculous but most of the time his issue isn't with the feelings being returned...its more about expressing it. that said he DOES have episodes here and there where he does come across worse than usual(this one being one of them)(with maybe frozer being not great an maybe the first glaciatiour(though glaciatour actually has way more nuance to it and people misunderstand it more). and at least we know he isnt just going overboard to get her to notice him...he tends to go overboard as chat in general because he doesnt get to as adrien. though i tend to be more forgiving of chat because generally when he does get properly called out he does tend to learn to be apologetic...and in this case she DID fall for him and kiss him which has got to give anyone a bit of a hopeful high which he doesn't get that often unlike marinette since he can't tell anyone about his crush and doesnt get advice. considering the dude is going in blind with no one to bounce off of...he could definitely be doing worse. even if we try to ignore the fact he is in fact correct because we know she does like him as Adrien. i think a big difference is as chat he wants to have fun and express himself and be silly(which is great for distractions and keeping fear at bay and making people think everything will be okay) but even when he is sweet and supportive it can be easy to forget to take him seriously. in this case he forgets the reasons why he goes ridiculous as chat so he is just a BIT more toned down and mari has no preconcieved notions so its easier to see his sweetness. though in this case mari and adrien were influenced by assuming they were already a couple. its also weirdly ironic they both have the opposite problems...adrien tends to be open about his feelings where people know but don't take it seriously even when his feelings are serious where it contrasts marinette who feels deeply but is REALLY bad at getting her feelings across where she gets either nothings across, the opposite feeling she was going for or a way too toned down version due to circumstance and fear of rejection. and how she tends to do things behind the seasons when it comes to her feelings.
The reason they are so cute here is because they are starting with a clean slate marinette has a huge crush on Adrien to the point where she a stuttering mess he can't see the brilliant mind when she can't say two words to him and Adrien is in love with ladybug because as ladybug with chatnoir not Adrien she not a nervous mess so they are natural together it's a yinyang thing soulmates
Please, at one time you have to watch the Origins part 1 and 2 episode, they actually help you understand the show better and they would give you so much more conext.
I enjoy how you reacted to the kwamis and especially plagg thinking back on angry tikki. terrifying and I enjoyed you appreciating the more brain game of them finding the information throughout the episode. I think the one thing that helps with chat not sounding like a smarm most of the time is we know he has genuine admiration for ladybug (both good and bad) and he doesnt usually force his feelings on her. like...he'll flirt some times definitly but he doesnt really ignore he feelings like that most times unless the episode has to work with a bit of regression(this happens to mari to). in this case he was abit too high off that she kissed him. that said glad to see you not ignoring it entirely like some people at times. its still something he gets to work on.
You should really watch ONE of these 2 parter episodes I SWEAR THEYRE WORTH IT - The Kwami's Choice (This being the closest hawk moths been to having the miraculous) - Shadow Moth's Last attack (This being the best season finale and honestly a lot happens and the return of the smartest character in the show Felix) - Heroes Day (The first GOOD season finale with a lot of the akumatized villains coming back and its a rlly epic battle) - Origins (Explains the origins of the whole show) Or u can just watch this episode - Optigami (One of the best plans made by gabriel to get the miraculous)
I remember when I saw Oblivio, and I was screaming at how they are just trolling us at this point, and teasing us with somethig we know they'll never give us They have now done it like, 4 or 5 times. (It's why the movie was awesome, cause they actually gave us something - but they still made the joke by going "nah, not quite" right at the end!)

You make an interesting point about the logistics of amnesia. My thought is, the reason they know what phones are but not anything about themselves is that the amnesia only affects personal identity information. They don't know their names or pass codes, but they know how the world around them functions. They've retained their understanding of language, modern society, and other types of general knowledge so long as it doesn't specifically pertain to themselves. They don't know what kwamis are because kwamis are not public knowledge, and the only reason they know about them is because of their identities as secret superheroes.

The writers said that they basically just use it to visually demonstrate the characters finding the things they need to solve the problem, for the audiences benefit. The creators like to toy with our emotions, it’s a game to them, I think the next episode you should watch is Elation! And there are 3 miraculous movies the new one and two others all filled with the same amount of cringe, plot holes, fluffy moments, and Adrien and Mari being JUST FRIENDS.💗
If you want to see more of ladybug and chat noirs relationship especially at the beginning of the show I recommend the episode “prime queen” it’s one of the cutest episodes of them in my opinion!
5:49 that's actually pretty accurate for different forms of amnesia. Your memory isn't all or nothing. I read somewhere that Language is the last thing to go because you've internalized it too much to lose. The names maybe not I've only met people w/Alzheimer's or who have adhd ect. Not actual amnesia but I think that would actually stay. Not knowing about kwamis, on the other hand, makes perfect sense for the same reason the kwamis have no memory either. The magic is very discovery resistant.

It is not understood how human brains work. If youre writing an amnesia story you can make them forget whatever you want, they dont have to revert to being babies in adult boddies.
We have different types of memory! You have the memories of your everyday life, the memories of things you've learned (like language and objects), muscle memory, to put it very basically. Amnesia usually affects memories related to your life, not learned things, if that was the case it would be considered more of a disability because you'd forget how to read, talk, walk, what clothes are etc...
One caveat of the Miraculous Ladybug power is that it undoes damage caused by Miraculous holders but not by regular people. That's why the memory loss caused by Oblivio (and, by extension, Hawkmoth) can be undone but the simple picture that Alya takes remains.

The thing about amnesia is you forget certain parts of your memory, most cases being critical parts of your identity and personality. The brain has different sections that are like...designated folders where information is stored. Amnesia is like, taking the contents in the folder and just...throwing them away lol. They can be recovered from that bin.
Language and basics facts and figures are stored in a completely different part of the brain than personal memories. So it is very possible to forget who you are but still remember what a phone is. 5:52

Nathalie is a great character. You should watch the episode Ladybug. Yeah Adriens cringe and desperate, it's the depression and abandonment issues. I think this was the first appearance of the pink spots as Marinette solves a problem. Prompting the realisation that her real super power is her ADHD and complex over planning. I'm glad you enjoyed the adrienette moments, their story can be Very cringe at times but they do fit well together, if they stand with each other and bring out each others best parts. In case there wasn't enough of Adrien's face in this episode, you should watch Felix.

5:57 bcuz memories get stored differently in your brain. A comma patient could wake up not remembering who are they or anyone else is, but they would remember the languages they learned or how to ride a bike, motor activities etc. Think of it as memos being stored in different files and the one with memories got deleted ,the other one wouldn't be affected.
If you're going to react to more, anything in the first 3 seasons is fair game because there isn't continuity between episodes until season 4. I'd recommend Origins part 1 and 2 for background and Queen's Battle part 1 and 2.

@@justcallmecat Not that uncommon. In season 5, Hawkmoth distributed superpowers sometimes before and sometimes after akumatization. Because of this, some of them had slightly different versions of these abilities. So there will be about 10 villains. Not that it's a lot, but it's not uncommon.

I think that the people on this bus didn't get mad at them for being a supervillain. One because most of them have been Akumatized. Two after a little bit most of Paris knows what Akumatized is and understands that it's not the people's fault that they were turned into a supervillain, they know of and blame hawk moth the real villain.

The Miraculous Ladybug superpower is able to repair anything... Literally anything, even bring people back from death... as long the damages have been done DURING the battle and is related to the villain they are fighting. Because of that, even if the Miraculous Ladybug can repair anything, it doesn't mean it will repair anything. The photo Alya took had nothing to do with the battle (since it was over), so it was not erased.
We all refer to it as "Miraculous Ladybug" ...poor Cat Noir always gets left out in the cold!

I like this episode a lot and it's just sad man because I love this dynamic way more than whatever the rest of the show has trainwrecked into and I know it would never have happened but my hot take is that they shouldn't have gotten their memory back, we need more amnesia plots where the character's memory stays lost and they just have to build a new life.

to be fair about chat he isnt really that smarmy about his crush. like he's obvious about his feelings definitly and he'll flirt but he does genuinely believe she's amazing and she will banter back at times. I think the difference is he likes expressing his feelings because he doesnt get to just say things bluntly as his civilian self and not care if he looks ridiculous but most of the time his issue isn't with the feelings being returned...its more about expressing it. that said he DOES have episodes here and there where he does come across worse than usual(this one being one of them)(with maybe frozer being not great an maybe the first glaciatiour(though glaciatour actually has way more nuance to it and people misunderstand it more).
and at least we know he isnt just going overboard to get her to notice him...he tends to go overboard as chat in general because he doesnt get to as adrien.
though i tend to be more forgiving of chat because generally when he does get properly called out he does tend to learn to be apologetic...and in this case she DID fall for him and kiss him which has got to give anyone a bit of a hopeful high which he doesn't get that often unlike marinette since he can't tell anyone about his crush and doesnt get advice. considering the dude is going in blind with no one to bounce off of...he could definitely be doing worse.
even if we try to ignore the fact he is in fact correct because we know she does like him as Adrien. i think a big difference is as chat he wants to have fun and express himself and be silly(which is great for distractions and keeping fear at bay and making people think everything will be okay) but even when he is sweet and supportive it can be easy to forget to take him seriously. in this case he forgets the reasons why he goes ridiculous as chat so he is just a BIT more toned down and mari has no preconcieved notions so its easier to see his sweetness.
though in this case mari and adrien were influenced by assuming they were already a couple.
its also weirdly ironic they both have the opposite problems...adrien tends to be open about his feelings where people know but don't take it seriously even when his feelings are serious where it contrasts marinette who feels deeply but is REALLY bad at getting her feelings across where she gets either nothings across, the opposite feeling she was going for or a way too toned down version due to circumstance and fear of rejection. and how she tends to do things behind the seasons when it comes to her feelings.
The reason they are so cute here is because they are starting with a clean slate marinette has a huge crush on Adrien to the point where she a stuttering mess he can't see the brilliant mind when she can't say two words to him and Adrien is in love with ladybug because as ladybug with chatnoir not Adrien she not a nervous mess so they are natural together it's a yinyang thing soulmates

I enjoy how you reacted to the kwamis and especially plagg thinking back on angry tikki. terrifying and I enjoyed you appreciating the more brain game of them finding the information throughout the episode. I think the one thing that helps with chat not sounding like a smarm most of the time is we know he has genuine admiration for ladybug (both good and bad) and he doesnt usually force his feelings on her. like...he'll flirt some times definitly but he doesnt really ignore he feelings like that most times unless the episode has to work with a bit of regression(this happens to mari to). in this case he was abit too high off that she kissed him. that said glad to see you not ignoring it entirely like some people at times. its still something he gets to work on.

You make an interesting point about the logistics of amnesia. My thought is, the reason they know what phones are but not anything about themselves is that the amnesia only affects personal identity information. They don't know their names or pass codes, but they know how the world around them functions. They've retained their understanding of language, modern society, and other types of general knowledge so long as it doesn't specifically pertain to themselves. They don't know what kwamis are because kwamis are not public knowledge, and the only reason they know about them is because of their identities as secret superheroes.

11:30 thought i could explain this for ya, the little polka dot vision that we see Marinette/Ladybug use isn't actually a superpower. The writers said that they basically just use it to visually demonstrate the characters finding the things they need to solve the problem, for the audiences benefit. That's why you see not just Ladybug use it but Marinette, Chat Noir, Adrien, and i believe Alya at some point as well !!

5:49 that's actually pretty accurate for different forms of amnesia. Your memory isn't all or nothing. I read somewhere that Language is the last thing to go because you've internalized it too much to lose. The names maybe not I've only met people w/Alzheimer's or who have adhd ect. Not actual amnesia but I think that would actually stay. Not knowing about kwamis, on the other hand, makes perfect sense for the same reason the kwamis have no memory either. The magic is very discovery resistant.

Adrien gives off that Ken energy (being so inlove with ladybug) because she was his escape from the life he has a civillian, being cat noir and spending time with Ladybug made him more of who he can really be and not the model rich boy who's father doesn't even look at him at times. It is not understood how human brains work. If youre writing an amnesia story you can make them forget whatever you want, they dont have to revert to being babies in adult boddies.
We have different types of memory! You have the memories of your everyday life, the memories of things you've learned (like language and objects), muscle memory, to put it very basically. Amnesia usually affects memories related to your life, not learned things, if that was the case it would be considered more of a disability because you'd forget how to read, talk, walk, what clothes are etc...
One caveat of the Miraculous Ladybug power is that it undoes damage caused by Miraculous holders but not by regular people. That's why the memory loss caused by Oblivio (and, by extension, Hawkmoth) can be undone but the simple picture that Alya takes remains.

The thing about amnesia is you forget certain parts of your memory, most cases being critical parts of your identity and personality. The brain has different sections that are like...designated folders where information is stored. Amnesia is like, taking the contents in the folder and just...throwing them away lol. They can be recovered from that bin.

The miraculous ladybugs fix everything caused by the akuma specifically. However, since the akuma had already been defeated before Alya took the picture, it stayed.

I think this was the first appearance of the pink spots as Marinette solves a problem. Prompting the realisation that her real super power is her ADHD and complex over planning.
I'm glad you enjoyed the adrienette moments, their story can be Very cringe at times but they do fit well together, if they stand with each other and bring out each others best parts.

5:57 bcuz memories get stored differently in your brain. A comma patient could wake up not remembering who are they or anyone else is, but they would remember the languages they learned or how to ride a bike, motor activities etc.
Think of it as memos being stored in different files and the one with memories got deleted ,the other one wouldn't be affected.
If you're going to react to more, anything in the first 3 seasons is fair game because there isn't continuity between episodes until season 4. I'd recommend Origins part 1 and 2 for background and Queen's Battle part 1 and 2.
