@@mgcharoudin I have them too. :D After almost two laps, they start to loose grip as you also said in the video. But they're allround the best for street/drift/ring IMO.
I like this video layout a lot. Everything you would want to see is there and the space of the screen is used well.
The joy on the owner's face when you passed the winged white BMW was worth watching the bonus lap😀

These spanish vw are a great base. Viva seat. I fondly remember a 124s 4 door sedan, 1500 cc but a hell of a ride .. mid 70s in spain. That motor loved red lining.

@@colinscutt5104 I think it’s based on very specific conditions. It’s a good tool but seems to be rarely used anymore.
@@TamagoHead Rarely used in what context? There are plenty of disciplines of motorsport that employ very frequent use of left foot braking, like F1, and the WRC.
@@TamagoHead Seems to me he is using the left foot ONLY on corners where he needs to set the front end grip and doesn't need to downshift. I myself never use the left foot brake because I have never tried it.

This vid makes me miss my dialled in manual Cupra, it was great. Also typical, almost nobody wanted to buy it, and now a few months after selling it I suddenly find people appreciating manuals and even trading DSG ones for one...
Switching into the last gear at ~230 in a hatch back, looked somehow special ;) knowing the perfect lines and the breaking points, makes up for additional 200 HP.

Great lap Misha! Cupra with manual is so much enjoying, I´m selling one and I feel I will miss it very much. Switched to M340i from 280 ST ...... fwd manual to xdrive automatic. Yep the BMW is pretty much quicker in everyday conditions but hell..... that raw feeling of driving a 300hp car with a stick and around 1420 kg. Priceless.
The 3 door version is even lighter at 1275 kg 💪
Simply amazing driving from you Misha. It shows that you've spent time in simulator and driver trainings. Also the car appears to be very nicely setup.

I love left foot braking. Me personally learned how to brake with a left foot in my old mk3 golf. It was bad car and I couldn't let the gas pedal at all cozz the car will die and I use to brake with a left foot all the time in everyday traffic.
That's the stupid reason but it helped me, Now I can drive my mk6 gti more to the limit.
Those fancy aluminium towhooks break off if you put any sort of load on them, just sayin. Ask me how do I know. And I might know someone who had to use a leftie drillbit to get the remaining part out of the bzmper bar.
300hp and a decent setup is super fun on the Nürburgring. 👍🚀

Great video, thank you. Question re: left foot brake technique. Are you starting to apply brake pressure before completely coming off throttle or no? Is one technique better for not unsettling the car? I don't left foot brake but would like to learn after watching this video. Thanks Misha.
I do it on the balance of the car, it's sort of cross-thread where I do the simultaneously.

@@mgcharoudin i drive three pedals and want to learn more. Old school, never touch the left foot brake, plus need to learn heel toe. I have a car with autoblip, makes me lazy.
But, from what I see, you are setting the grip on the front with the left foot brake when you don't need to downshift, but just settle the car balance for small turns. Am I right about that?

Super impressive, what "disappoints" me about this drive train is that it's available in pretty much every VAG product across all brands, but never in a true RWD platform unless you're in the market for a KTM X-Bow(not VAG Product).
Not trying to take away from how capable the FWD and AWD implementations are, just kind of disappointing that the option doesn't exist due to its flexibility/tunability.

Wow! I expected quite a bit more agression on the clutch / quicker shifting, but you're surprisingly gentle on that left pedal!
The pedal-cam was a really nice bonus, please do that more often when you're in a car that allows you to do the Three Pedal Dance.

I'm learning to use heel and toe at the moment and I have to say it's a lot of fun watching your footwork and learning from it :D
What I noticed for example is that there are two completely different styles of heel and toe. The one that is actually heel and toe (what you are doing and what I am doing in sims) and the one that is just rolling your foot over the edge of the brake pedal onto the gas pedal (which works a lot better in my Golf for some reason).
Oh and another completely different thing: in my opinion it's crazy how slow the rpms drop when you press the clutch...
I have a gti. The rev hang in these modern VW engines are.... incredible. They suck at upshift. I also recognize the pedals are identical to mine. The brake and gas pedals just don't work together. I have to step only on the right half of the brake to heel toe. Even Misha has missed several times. Like once at 6:26

Sorry Misha you say that the tires are Cup 2 but on the camera we can see these are 4S. Still very good tires and really adequate to do a relaxed 9 minutes lap ;)

@@mgcharoudin In my 6th IRL lap on the Nordschleife, I managed to clock 8:33s (my last uploaded video) on a stock Cupra ST 280 with P4S4. But there was a yellow flag and quite a lot of traffic. (Driver excuses :) Anyway, I want to thank you for the photo with my son during the NLS 5 race in the pits. My little son is your big fan :)
To me the driving suggests he's got a pair. An intro with rubber band braces proves it.
Misha, a few days ago I saw in the Albo channel how he hooked up an insta360 to the car which gave him this beatiful Gran Turismo camera view, bro give us a taste of that in the Nurburgring please!!

Dampers warning? why did it happen? Also it looks like the clutch has a slow coupling, right? Maybe that´s the reason for some people who reported premature clutch wear.
Idk, it happens to our Cupra too and we have aftermarket suspension. Probably swaybar and headlight links go too crazy in that corner.

Hi Misha, I'd like to know your opinion on which gearbox you prefer and why. At the moment I'm looking at cupras and I don't know which gearbox suits the car better.

Also after watching hundreds of these laps, there is a reason why the NBR is in Germany, there is no way this would be able to exist in the US because there would be 100s of accidents per day

nice left foot braking, its hard in the newer cars with brake booters that are rated for 40t trucks to not overshoot it.

At the beggining of the lap (around 3:23 - 3:40) you do a bit of left foot breaking. I was under the impresion that road cars have a fail safe where if you are accelerating even a bit and you hit the break it will go full breaks (to combat people panicking and hitting all the pedals). Am I wrong or is this something disabled on the car/not available on all cars? Thanks :D
Most regular cars do that but this is a sport model so maybe it lets you, but I wondered the same.
Never heard of it. Disable throttle when on brake at the same time, yes. Applying full brake when both pressed, no.
Old cars and non-track cars have it. For example older VWs are very sensitive to that.
My st doesn't allow u to go on the throttle while on the brakes. It doesn't do anything with the brakes, it just cuts the throttle. Had left foot braking enabled with my tune so now the problem is gone😁. Think different brands have different safety features.
