    You might want to look into the differences between the JE piston and stock piston wrist pin locations. Interesting differences there, worth looking into.

    I'm guessing you are Australian judging by the kangaroo logo yet you sound weirdly like an American with that accent lol! Keep up the great vids,been watching some of your playlists for research you definitely deserve more recognition.

      Yeah I'm an Australian that has been living in the US for awhile, so my accent is all over the place. Thanks for following along. Good luck with your build.

    I see you are using the cometic gasket that is basically a flepro knockoff. I have a head gasket I designed for the L engines, to improve water cooling and a number of other improvements you may want to look into that alternative gasket I designed. REGARDS: Jeff Priddy

    Great video. I'm doing a Rebello Big Bore kit as well. It comes with different brands as times have changed unfortunately. Did you boost this motor or did you go all NA?

    Hey James, what cam grind did you end up getting from Rebello? I've got at L28 that I'm going to start building for my 240 later this year. Cam specs is one of the things I'm still undecided about. Mine is purely a performance streed build.

    • @KangaMotorsports
      @KangaMotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd recommend contacting either a cam grinder or engine builder to get their opinions I know my spec is a little older and their might be newer profiles out there. You also have to match other components to cam to ensure lift, duration etc can be handled by the valves, valve springs, spring seats and there is sufficient clearance to the pistons. That said I have the 63DI - 279 degrees duration, 0.540 inches of lift with a lobe separation of 109 degrees. Good luck with your build.

      @@KangaMotorsports Yeah, I'm planning on talking to a few cam grinders, I was just curious what you went with. Did you do asymmetric lobes? John Moreton advocates more cam than less, but I just don't know that for a street car it's the right way to go. At most, I might take it to an autocross, but no real track usage.

      @KangaMotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kenyon Stewart I believe they are symmetrical lobes. I haven’t measured the exact profile. I went with more lift than stock but not the maximum lift. It is mostly for street with occasional track duty so I didn’t want to give up too much down low.

    Was this their off the shelf kit? Did you supply them with a crank core?

    • @KangaMotorsports
      @KangaMotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      bentleyoak It was their kit with a few tweaks. Yes you need to supply a useable crank core and cam core. You also need to supply your head and block depending on what you want done.

    i have a 3.0 Robello engine as well, i just would like to know what kind of oil pan and transmission are you going to use.

    • @KangaMotorsports
      @KangaMotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right now working on a new Video for the Oil pan using the ArizonaZCar pan. Transmission is a 5 Speed from a ZX.

    What's an estimate to build a turbo L28 to 450rwhp

    • @battleshop3580
      @battleshop3580 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock short block. Head and cam done very well, this is where all your time should go, and a large-ish turbo about a gt35r size and 15-18psi and you're done. Then break transmissions and axles all day.

    I’m pretty new to cars so maybe this is a dumb question, but why do you measure and weigh everything before you put it in the engine?

    • @KangaMotorsports
      @KangaMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cody I measure and weigh certain items because I was trying to match their weights and balance

    How much does the kit go for?

    • @KangaMotorsports
      @KangaMotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      SuperSaiyanSupreme depends on your needs, performance goals and extra parts. We had some custom block and crankshaft modifications done but did most of the head work ourselves. Contact Rebello and they can get you a current price list. The basic kit was ~$3k in parts plus ~$1k in machining and labor. We are doing all the fitting, customization, porting and assembly ourselves.

      Recommend you contact Rebello directly on current pricing for parts and labor as prices have changed a lot since we purchased several years ago.
