    Hey! In this video I’m covering influencer contracts, and more specifically what it means when a brand mentions “exclusivity” in their influencer contracts.
    And here’s why: recently a poll by Mavrck states that “61% of influencers are receiving exclusivity requests from brands and of those influencers, 85% expect additional compensation for these requests.” So, as you can see, it’s a popular request and something you need to take seriously, because brands are on the lookout for influencers who are open to it.
    And speaking of statistics, according to the influencer platform Fohr, influencer payout data (from a sample of $8.4M in influencer contracts) shows that average payouts have increased on average by 44.5% from 2020 to 2021.
    And I really love that, because it’s implying that if you go with the very basic industry standard formula of $100/10k followers, that means rates essentially increased from $100/10k followers in 2020 to $145/10k followers in 2021. Which is good to know!
    Now just keep in mind that influencer contracts are also sometimes referred to as social media contracts, or influencer marketing contracts, but regardless of what they’re called, they are written agreements that either you send a brand or the brand sends you to be reviewed and signed by both parties. Naturally they are VERY specific and thorough, and that’s so all parties are on the same page and everyone’s interests are protected.

    So exclusivity in a nutshell, refers to a time period in which you are restricted from working with other (competitor) brands, or an entire category of brands. And as you can imagine, that could significantly affect your earning potential.
