Love my 2019 X3 M40i. Got it last summer. Since then I made many mods to it so it looks more aggressive, and sounds more aggressive. It's fast stock, but I have Stage 2 tune and Stage 3 transmission tune, and catless downpipe so I'm pushing about 500 hp... This thing is insanely fast and surprises people on the road with the power and sounds.
I have a 2018 X3 M40I. I absolutely love it. In 2018 there was no such thing as an X3 M so in 2018 the M division had a huge part in the car. Mine has the M Exhaust and M Diff. Also on a side note I added a Carbahn Stage 1 bumping me to 470 HP. Runs 0-60 in 3.5. Love It......

for a explanation on this remote start issue though i know this video is old....there was a german law that prohibited remote start due to safety to others concern and it wasnt appealed till about 2020ish so thats why your 2019 has no remote start.
Yes! We traded our old macan s in for one of these a few years ago and it's so fun. Can't stop modding it lol 😅 sometimes I find it more fun than my m2 and m3 even, it's a blast

I was lucky enough to grab a 2020 M40i before the June 20th date when they locked the DME. I have not modded it yet really other than some visuals. Best car i've ever owned. Fastest car I've ever owned. I did not get the m sport diff or variable suspension but that won't matter after I install the X3M swaybars and KW3 coilovers. Super Super happy with it!
They really are amazing cars. One of the best “all around” cars on the market. Next up for me is probably some bigger wheels and tires, I want to go up to 21” instead of the stock 19” I’m running.

They work great! Ive found the cooled seats in other cars is almost “too much” and it makes me feel like my clothes are wet. These ones are just nicely cooling and help with long road trips. The comfort is great also! It has the adjustable thigh extensions too, so it’s easy to fit to you. I’ve gone on a ton of long road trips in the car and have loved all of them!

I wouldn’t know what sort of difference there would be with those. I bet with the right tune mapping combined with those upgrades you could have a pretty noticeable difference. But even stock the car leaves very little to be desired!
How many miles did it have on it when you got it and how many does it have now? How has it been? I’m really close to pulling the trigger on a 2020 M40i at my local dealer with the Premium package as well as the M diff. Test drove it and it drove amazing! It has a clean history, regularly maintained at a BMW dealership by the previous owner. The caveat so to speak is that it has 95k miles on it. Seems to be all highway based on the car’s shape.
I bought mine with 46,000 miles and I’m at 137k miles now. It’s been dead reliable and I’ve had no real issues at all mechanically. It’s a great car, and as long as it’s been properly maintained, it shouldn’t have any issues! I love that car and would definitely buy it again if I had to do it over!

The 4.4 is the official time from BMW, but in all the owner groups I’m part of, A LOT of them were getting faster or even some got under 4 seconds stock. Car companies lie about their 0-60 numbers often so they don’t take away from their higher end cars. Because if the M40i is so fast and good, what’s the point of buying an X3M? So they be conservative in advertising, but real world practice they’re faster than advertised.

It is better than my old MDX 2019 is every time you reach to trafficlight about turning right you slow down then look no car coming then you push gas it obeys you accelerate fast right away not like others.

Now would you say in the long run it can last another 5-6 years? Because I’ve been wanting to get a used 2019-2021, and I’ve been doing some research and looks like hopefully and finally some newer bmw models have been shown with great reliability ratings and the bmw x3 is the sweet spot for me. Especially the m40i, way better gas mileage and sounds just as good as the M comp. But would you say it would be worth it for longer commutes, because just in one day for me going to work and coming back home from work is 70-75 miles 😢 😂
My car has been nothing but reliable so far. I just crossed over 120k miles and still 0 issues. And 30k of those miles have been with a stage 1 tube and a catless downpipe and still not one hiccup with the car. BMW definitely killed it here and I don’t think you would have anything to worry about. The only thing I’d say to get is a warranty / protection for the windshield. I get a lot of chips and breaks because I drive so much and each windshield replacement is $1800 😅 but luckily I have coverage for that.
Why is noone looking post 2021 year? Is the LCI version not as good? I'm sure its got heaps of nice tech but is something else worse off than the 2018-2021?

I waited 3 days for them to reach out and they didnt budge :(. I went back in and bought it at their price. Joe Perillo BMW dealership in Chicago. 2019 x3 m40i, all the options (premium, executive and tech) , 31k odometer, very clean interior 9/10, exterior 8/10. Its possible to find one.
The 8 speed ZF transmission is not a DCT but a torque converter, but it’s one of the best in the business.

These cars are so underrated! I love getting in mine after a long day at work and zooming home. I don’t think I’ll get rid of it for a long time!
Do or did you get any problems with carbon buildup with the direction injection??
I haven’t had any issues at all with carbon build up even 2.5 years into ownership now.
How has maintenance been and any mechanical issues?
I had one $15 gasket fail that I replaced myself but other than that, it’s been perfect!
What does he turn it off on at 16:00?
I was taking the car out of manual mode! I clicked the shifter over to normal then back into sport to turn off manual.

Yep. Audi/vw dcts suck. M cars and Porsche DCTs are rock solid. I’ve had 3M cars and 911s. Check the forums. They are reliable.
