It is! I haven't done too much yet this year, but my elk season wraps up this week, and I hope to be out there slaying some squid again soon!

Thanks man! I don’t want to just make it look easy, but also encourage anyone out there to try it

Thanks for the great video! How's the 2021 season so far? I haven't been squidding for years but I'm itching to hit a local pier sometime soon.

Clem, thanks for leaving this encouraging feedback! I've only been out once in early October to check on things around PD. I noticed the squid were pretty deep early in the AM, so I thought I would give it another go later this month or in November. This week we have a ton of rain and wind, so I generally won't spend much time squidding. There's still lots of coho fishing and hunting to be done!

I have a 16' Fishrite similar to your boat. Where do you launch and general areas to target? Don't need secret spots, just a general idea of where to start looking.

I would consider Elliot Bay. There are several launches nearby, depends on whether you are nighttime or daytime Squidding

What depth of water is best?
Do you change lure colors according to depth or time of day?
How much does the current affect the schools and catching?
I bought a green led submersible light for squid about 8 years ago then someone said they don’t like green…is this true?
Do you have to catch them at night or do they bite during the day too?
Is there squid anywhere around Whidbey Island (like Clinton, Langley, or even Coupeville)?
I have a lot of questions and nobody around me can give me answers.I heard the words whidbey island in the video but didn’t catch the location.
    Great video!

I like to target squid in 50-120 ft of water most typically. I don’t change lures. Current can make it very difficult to stay on top of a school, but if you have a light or a bunch of boats anchored up working the same school they will sometimes stay out. I don’t know about green light. I don’t think the light color matters that much. They can be caught at day or night, night is usually better as they will be concentrated in more shallow areas. I don’t know about those locations. I fish them near Edmunds, Elliot Bay, Redondo and Point Defiance / Commencement Bay
