    Hey everyone, this video was filmed before they changed the start date a couple of times. The new date is April 2025. If there are meaningful changes to the visa process, I will post here, but for now, I haven’t heard of any news

      Hi, thanks for the video. Since the date was postponed, does that mean a USA citizen can just buy the ticket and come to Brazil without a visa at this time? What would be required?
      Thank you

    There are changes on the way for US travelers looking to go to Brazil. Starting April 10, 2024, the country now demands that travelers from the United States must have a visa for all reasons. One of the biggest changes that caused the most alarm and headlines is that now travelers must show access to at least $2,000 before being allowed to enter the country.
    The change to requiring financial proof was a shock to many, but not something entirely new. Travelers can show the $2,000 with a bank statement, or credit card statement, along with proof of income. This is not a typical requirement for travel, but several countries hold the right to refuse entry to those who cannot prove they have access to funds.

      Olá! Acredito que sim. Esse visto do qual falo no video não se aplica a cidadãos europeus. Além do mais, ele é só um visto de visita (turismo, trânsito e negócios). Acredito que para moradia, seriam outros critérios. Sugiro entrar em contato com o consulado Brasileiro em Portugal e perguntar sobre os tipos de visto de residência.

    Hi. I have a situation. I will be at the Iguazu Falls on the Argentina side but I would like to see the fall on the Brazil side. My plan is to take a taxi to the Brazil border. Go through immigration by land/foot. Next we will fly to Sao Paulo. Then fly Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro. To end Brazil, we will fly Rio de Janeiro to Mexico City. My question - Will the eVisa work in my case since I am entering Brazil by land/foot?

    I have a Brazilian “green card” RNM permanent resident visa but travel monthly to the USA. The Brazilian immigration staff have told me consistently that I will not need the new e-Visa. But when I emailed the official e-Visa website to ask, they replied that I need the e-Visa. The airline website does not address this. Can you answer with a source on a Brazilian govt website? Thank you!

    • @tripsterpanda
      @tripsterpanda  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey John, I would assume your RNM acts as a valid visa. The evisa is only for what is called visit visa (used for tourism, transit, business). According to what you said, this is not your case, you have a different type of visa, since you have a RNE. Any visa that is not a visit visa is dealt by the consulate, not the evisa platform, so I reckon they are not aware of these nuances.
      I am fairly confident that your RNE should suffice, but as I don’t work with visas, I strongly suggest you reach out to the consulate in your jurisdiction to clarify your questions.
      You can also explore the visa types available on the Foreign Ministry website:

    I'm an American Citizen already in Brazil. I will stay in Brazil past April 10,2024 until about May 15. I wish to extend my stay past the initial 90 days. Question is: When does the Visa start counting my new 90 day period (assuming I'm approved). Will the new 90-day period begin at the end of my initial 90 day period...or... will my new 90 days start the day I am approved? I'd like to do 90 days, not leave the country, and start a new 90 days with the new eVisa I will ideally acquire. Advise? Experience with this?

    • @tripsterpanda
      @tripsterpanda  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I haven't seen that situation explained by the visa platform so far. I think it depends a lot of when your 90 day period expires. Since you are already in Brazil, it might be a good idea to speak to the Policia Federal closest to you. They will probably have the details to help you on your specific scenario and will likely be able to give you appropriate guidance.

      They said typically two weeks, but would advise to request it at least two months in advance, to allow for you to send extra documents if needed. I suggest that if you are travelling after 10th April, to request it as early as possible. As usual, please reach out to the Brazilian consulate in your jurisdiction to ensure you get the most up to date info, as this video was filmed when the go live date was Jan 10th, but it has since changed and it might have other changes to process too.

    I understand the fact that these three countries need Visa. But this decline the influx of tourists and let’s see how long will that last.

    • @tripsterpanda
      @tripsterpanda  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t think this visa will have a significant impact on the international tourism in Brazil, because of the below:
      The reinstatement of the visa (because it was like that until 2019) is about the country’s sovereignty, not about tourism. It is based on one of the oldest principals in International Relations, the principal of Reciprocity (so, if Brazilians need a visa to visit the USA, Canada, and Australia, they need visas to visit Brazil too). Japan was supposed to be on this list, but as there is a new treaty that allows Brazilian people to visit Japan without a visa, they can continue to visit Brazil without one as well.
      The rule that is active from 2019 until now creates an imbalance in the diplomatic relations, hence the reinstatement.
      In regards to the influx of tourists, Australians and Canadians are not a significant portion of the international tourists. And Americans, despite being the second largest group, are still a very small portion of the total. Remember that South America (especially Argentina, around 30% of all of our international visitors) and most of Europe do not need visas to visit Brazil.
      Lastly, EMBRATUR, the Brazilian Tourism Agency has been working into advertising Brazil into the world and getting more flights available to and from Brazil, which should increase the numbers from tourists, including the countries that will need this visa.
      People need visas to get to loads of places, the USA itself being a strong example, and they are able to get a sizable number of tourists, I don’t see why this would be different for Brazil.

    • @EmmanuelJose-ho1lz
      @EmmanuelJose-ho1lz 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tripsterpanda Fact. I just saw the U.S is the second majority of tourists behind from Argentina. A typical one week stay for an U.S citizen in Brazil costs $2000 excluding the extra activities. Without bringing down any other country, we’re the most consumer around the world. Again, that Visa thing won’t last longer.
