As a brazilian I think favelas and similar neighborhoods in the surrounds of most important brazilian cities are surely our worst face, our worst reality, unfortunately. I really feel ashamed when tourists from everywhere in world come to such a beautiful places in my country and have to face the sad and cruel reality of favelas or similar communities. People who live there are those ones who can't afford to survive in any best place. They probably wouldn,t live in such places, but they haven't money enough to move to a better place or a most secure one, far from poverty, misery, violence and criminals. I'm sorry for my bad english, but I hope you, readers, you'll understand what I mean. I agree with you : If somebody wants to visit a favela, ok, but it isn't at all an "adventure", of course not. On the contrary, it's a shocking experience.
@@mariadagracasilvadasileira442 Thanks for your heartfelt comment!💗 No need to apologize for your English; it's perfect actually lol!👏🏿 Favelas are simply proof that racism and oppression *still* exist, which is why most people who reside in them are Black. Smh. I'm Black American and it's the same here. In fact, if you saw the neighborhood that I grew up in, you wouldn't believe that it was in a so-called "first-world" country. The government closed all the schools, stopped investing in the community and passed laws to keep Black families from buying houses in better areas...And it's still happening today.😡 If you really want to help people living in favelas, then you must become involved in their struggle for freedom. Volunteer a little of your time to help empower them (like tutoring or teaching kids a skill that you have, etc.) or help change the laws that keep them oppressed. You can also support their businesses. Just find *some* way to help. I can tell that you have a beautiful soul!🌻💃🏿🌬️✨ I'm an activist in the U.S., but I've lived all over the world and lately Rio has been calling my name lol!🌄😆 We'll see what happens!🤭🤫💫

This intro music and some other references are NOT about Brazil. What is said about sugar loaf is also incorrect. Probably there are other mistakes but I made the choice of not going further after the beginning being inaccurate.
Brazilian here. I watch a lot of your videos and enjoy most of them. But, you didn't do your research properly on this one. You mentioned "salsa" as Brazilian dance. It's definitely not neither some of the food you mentioned is not necessarily what we have for breakfast. Going sightseeing in favelas is something really dangerous even for locals. We sometimes say that the best thing for someone to do in Rio is to leave without looking back😂.
@@CutFromADifferentCloth7 It's a very nice neighbourhood, nearby Ipanema and Copacabana, with many shops including shops inside a building, besides that is very safe over there

That’s song is one mambo / tray to put bossa nova !please it the same mistake , at the time Carmem Miranda , the Americans clothing her , wear like one rumba! No nothing similar song in America Central / sorry keep inform before doing the video ..
Can't figure why make a video about Brazil with salsa, which is not from Brazil. Ridiculous. It's like you're lost, not knowing if you landed in Brazil or Puerto Rico
@@cinthiachavezbaldeon9386 what do you mean, Cinthia Chavez? What is hateful about my post? I love Spanish Latin American culture, but it is NOT the culture of Brazil.
Copacabana is good, don't mind the dudes offering you cocaine for 100 RS (20$) per gram lol. Just ignore them unless you want some. I just told them NO but they're a little intimidating but they will leave you alone if you just tell them no and ignore them
Clearly, you have never been to Rocinha or even Rio. You mispronounced both Rocinha and Rio. Rochina is pronounced Hosina, and there is no H sound in Rio!

I would add a few more: fleeing from robberies, avoiding beaches to avoid the risk of mass robberies, dodging stray bullets, not taking a taxi to avoid being robbed by the driver, not taking an Uber to avoid being taken against your will to a favela and being robbed, raped and killed, not trusting Waze (it always leads to a favela). Otherwise, Rio is very peaceful...
Mentira. Ela não está nem mesmo entre as 50 cidades mais violentas do mundo, de acordo com a empresa alemã Statista (pesquisa aí ..). When I was there the taxi drivers and some tour guides suggest it.
