  • We are back in Brazil exactly one year after our first visit.
    Has Brazil changed?
If you remember our first video from Brazil last year, we were extremely nervous to be in Sao Paulo.
Are we still nervous this time? Do we still think Brazil is dangerous?
Is Brazil safe? Is Brazil expensive?
Check out our second impressions of São Paulo, Brazil.

I recently went to Brazil ALONE. You can imagine how concerned my family and friends were. But I enjoyed every second! I visited Rio and Sao Paulo as I had little time, but I definitely want to go back and explore more. People are so nice and sweet, concerned about my safety (I swear, the word I heard the most was "corajosa", which means brave) and they tried hard to communicate with me. Overall, I had a great experience. Some people even said I looked Brazilian, hahaha (and yes, BRAZILIANS ARE GORGEOUS! How and why????)

You guys asked for a caipirinha with a small amount of sugar, but instead what that guy who helped you asked for a caipirinha without sugar, but with that sugar jar that was entirely for you to pour the amount you wanted to. But what happened was some misunderstandings, since the guy that helped you wasnt there anymore when the drink came out, and also you didnt see the sugar jar right there, that was exclusively for you. So, that first maracujá caipirinha was a completely sugarless one, that's why it was so strong, it was basicly maracujá juice with cachaça.

Welcome back guys! The cheese you bought is called queijo minas. Although its cheese from Minas, its not the cheese you are looking for. This one is very light, usually eaten during breakfast. Almost like a cheese for light, diet recipes. The famous one you are looking for is the Queijo Canastra. Its easier to find it in Minas, but you can get it in São Paulo in specialized stores or restaurants that sell food from Minas Gerais.

This “Queijo minas” is all right, specially paired with goiabada(we call this combo Romeu e Julieta-Romeo and Juliet)…for the mentioned 2nd best, you’ll have to look for the “Dolce Bosco”…
Now, for the quintessential “good cheese” in Brasil, that recently ranked as THE BEST in the world, according to “The Taste Atlas” look for “Queijo Canastra”, from Minas Gerais…this you’ll likely be able to find in higher end supermarkets, such as “Pão de Açúcar “

  • @desmonddavidhume5377

I love how you guys are enjoying the city and the culture by yourself, without any help, just speaking in english and trying to figure out what brazilian people are saying or what some words mean. And I would like to add some information to your audience: the "queijo minas" at 30:30 is not the awarded one. There're many types of "queijo minas" (basically each farm in the state of Minas Gerais produces its own "queijo minas", some are similar but other are quite different) and that one you bought is probably one of the poorst in terms of taste (it's kinda tasteless). People usually eat that one when they are on diet. The most prestigious cheeses are more expensive and you can find at the municipal market ("mercadão") or in specific stores that sell cheese, wines, sausages etc.

And a curious fact that you would probably never know, Brazil was visited by many people which makes the country very diverse, if you want to really get to know Brazil, I recommend taking a trip through all 27 states, because in each state there are different typical foods, different typical fruits, different people, different climates, and my country is not as dangerous as it is shown.
