I've watched a million "Why I switched" type videos. This is easily the nicest, most chill watch. No stupid thumbnails or flash; just great video and commentary!
I switched to a iPhone 14 from the S22 and the only thing I miss about Android is the customization something you really can’t dive deep into with iPhone🙂
Customization in samsung with goodlock is just something else compared to iphone 'locked' option. I was thinking the same as you to switch different platform, but sale got into me to buy the S21 FE. Maybe another time iPhone 😅.
@@Average_Joestar you’re right! Now customization on Android period is better than iPhone I agree with you on that especially with the Samsung but that’s the only thing I miss about Samsung/Android is the customization 🙂
I switched from S22 Ultra and Galaxy watch 4. To iPhone 14pro max and Apple Ultra watch. What a difference when a product actually works like it’s supposed to.
That is a huge decision. This year I had the same feelings to change my daily driver to Iphone 14 Pro Max but in the end I stick with Samsung S22 Ultra. I must tell that it was a perfect decision due to the S-pen which makes my work more effective.
I have an s22 ultra and im looking to switch to iphone because I love tech and it seems like a great product. I definitely am not getting rid of my s22 ultra any time soon. It feels awesome. Plus the screen design is way cooler than iphone, even if iphone feels more premium in hand.
I switched last year to my first IPhone to the 13 pro max and am in love with it! I didn’t plan on making the deep dive but now I have an Apple Watch and air pods as well…the apple ecosystem just works so well together and very easy to use. I wanted to have FaceTime as well and it is worth it. One of my other reasons for switching was because Samsung quit using external storage cards I figured why not just move over to iPhone since it had bigger storage options at the time! Also, the sierra blue color just spoke to me 😄 Enjoy your new iPhone!
Removing the microsd card was a genius move by Samsung. I'm happy to see it's having the intended effect of helping users ditch Samsung products in favor of Apple. I'm saying this as a salty Android user who hates that none of my prospective upgrade choices support microsd cards anymore.
Made switch from Samsung to iphone I actually hated it , it is extremely limited, I used to enjoy having cellphone customizing it n stuff , had access to anything, google is my fav browser which nicer on android n it's bulky here yuk ,I used to install videos, songs ,use Spotify premium for free lol , now I only make phone calls n take nice selfies , but I'm planning to go back to android.
Been using android since 2009 myself and currently use a Samsung Galaxy S10+. It's been a great phone and still is. May considering making the change when the iPhone 15 Pro comes out this year. It will use a USB-C cable for charging as well. Already use iPads as well so familiar with the Apple Ecosystem.
I haven't regretted moving over to iPhone (save for the cost!!). The camera is simply stunning , third party camera apps are plentiful and if you have a Mac already they all work well together. There's a few android apps I miss and some software in my niche is Android only, but on balance I'm staying on iOS.
@@John_R_Jackson_IIIcamera can totally agree pictures took of my boy this morning look sooo good to want they would of looked like on my Samsung A52s 5G would of looked like
I'm thinking about transitioning to an iPhone after being on Android forever. I agree with everything you said in this video and the biggest thing I'll miss is how customizable android phones are. My last iPhone was like the 4 I think and I jailbroke it to make it more appealing to me. Everyone in my family is on an iPhone so it would just be more convenient as far as messaging and because of where I live almost every android phone I've owned recently has had signal issues for calls and even messaging. Looking foward to see how you get along with it since I'm looking to get the 15 pro max or whatever they decide to call it.
Or the iPhone 15 Ultra (they predict- with USB type C, haptic buttons, stainless steel with the biggest camera bump for iPhone ever - that is if leaks are correct) 😁
If you are switching to iOS only because of imessage/facetime honestly do not make the mistake. I switched for the same reason and because pixel 7 was the same price as IP13 in my country and I did not want to pay that much for a pixel. However, once you start using iOS you will see what a nightmare is and iMessage & Facetime will not make up for that.
My first Apple device was the first iPod touch. I was a long time Android/Samsung user but transitioned to a 13 pro max from the galaxy note 10+ and I haven’t looked back since. As someone previously mentioned, the ecosystem just works really well. Before I knew it, I got an Apple Watch, AirPods Pro, and an iPad Pro 😂 no turning back now
Welcome to the iPhone family! 😁 I hope you’re enjoying your iPhone. I’ve been an iPhone user since 2009. I just upgraded to iPhone 14 pro max last week and tried filming during our family night out at Pier 39 and I was so impressed with the 4K video quality. Cheers!
It's nice to switch it up every once in a while. I do it sometimes but I ALWAYS end up back on Android. The iPhone for me gets old really fast. Everyone has their thing which is why there are different options. Use whatever works for you!
last week i bought an iphone 11 pro and even if it's not the newest iphone im so happy with it, happier than i was with my 2022 samsung, and the video quality is insane
OK now this is the last comment and I’m gonna stop and that is if you do go back to Android, just know that you can quickly and easily transfer your files from your Android phone over to your Mac using either free web-based services called snap drop or share drop or you can get a paid app called McDroid that is like 4.99 and it will allow you to quickly and easily send over files to your Mac and vice versa. Also, if you get all of your friends and family on to a third-party messaging app like Telegram or WhatsApp, you can do all of your group messaging there and do all of your video calls there and not have to worry about iMessage or FaceTime. One last thing before I’m out of here is that as great as the iPhone 14 Pro cameras are I have found with the exception of 4K Portrait video. The photos and videos on the new Samsung phones are just as good, if not better, in fact, I was very impressed with my iPhone 14 Pro Max’s video until I got my Galaxy Z-fold 4 and being able to shoot with that pro mode and 8K video is just amazing.
Thanks for the tips! I found the Move to iOS app to be great at transferring my data off of Android; good to know some resources if I ever go back. And I agree about Samsung cameras. They have set my bar high for mobile photo and video quality.
@@Gemini_Connect Here's a fun tip now you have an iPhone. Shoot a photo with the live photos turned on then in the gallery open the photo and in the upper left corner you will see where it says Live, tap that drop down menu and see what other fun things you can do with that live photo. Once you see what you can do the creative possibilities really open up.
That was interesting I'm glad the algorithm brought this video up. I've no compelling reasons to switch from Android to iPhone as you do but I've been strongly feeling the pull to switch. Perhaps it's just because my roommate has everything apple and every year gets a new iPhone. But this is so not me and I am a loyalist. Same mobile carrier from my first phone in 1998 and Android only. I've had a Moto then Samsungs then One Plus and I'm trying to discern why I feel the urge to try iphone. Maybe I'm bored or maybe it is just the build quality of the IPhone. It does feel really good in the hand. My notebook is an HP I've no tablet and everything I do is on my phone. The 14 hasn't gotten great reviews MKBHD wasn't thrilled for example, so I will follow your journey and see if this will help in my decision.
You did good. I also made the switch, from Note20U to iPhone 14PM. I mostly just wanted a change but purchasing the awesome 16” M1 Pro was the true catalyst. I’m loving it and, luckily, am not experiencing any buyers remorse. 👍🏼
I did the same . Was always an Android user for a long time. You will appreciate the simplicity of the iPhone and the connectivity with your Mac. So so simple. For me, I honestly wish I had done it sooner.
My last iPhone was the 3GS and ever looked back, and although I can deal with MacBooks, I still cannot deal with iPhones no matter what. Recently I set up the latest iPhones for my mom and brother and boy such pain in my behind, I'm either sticking to Samsung or trying Sony on my next upgrade.
I was an Apple user pretty much all my life. Then decided last year to switch to Android… Well it was cool and all but I’m Homesick for Apple especially after WWDC this morning! So I decided I’m going back once the iPhone 15 Pro Max Drops later this Fall! Love you Android but I miss the Battery Life, AirDrop, and my Alarm that weird chirp sound. Think it was called Radar I believe! Your the first video I’ve seen since I needed help in deciding if I wanted to return to Apple. So Thank You! 😊 BTW Subscribed!
Welcome back to Apple. As another commenter stated, I haven't regretted my move to Apple either. I've been using an iPhone since switching to the 6 Plus, seven years ago. A huge reason for switching was the "planned obsolescence" issue. All smartphone manufacturers use this but I found that Android phones were ridiculously short lived; my last two Android phones worked fine for the first year, and then suddenly battery life dramatically degraded. With the iPhones, I haven't noticed the battery degrading for at least a couple of years. Also with so many Android devices/manufacturers, it's hard to have a consistent Android experience-some devices get the most current upgrades; others suddenly stop after a few updates-it was just too frustrating. That also plays into why I only use Apple computers-with Microsoft and so many other software manufacturers, it's difficult to have a consistent experience resulting in constant crashes and software conflicts. A lot of people get upset that Apple adds features Android has been using for years, but I find that when Apple adopts a feature that is already in use, they do it better than other smartphone manufacturers. I think you'll enjoy the camera, and music app (if you listen to music on your phone). Looking forward to seeing more videos on your transition back to Apple.
Battery life and general performance has improved on android over the years, expecially on Samsung, ive been on the s9+ for solid 5years and it still performs like a new phone, battery life isn't like before but it worth it since I've havent changed the battery since I got it.
What a great video. Exactly what I was looking for. I am literally in the same position...currently using a Samsung S9 and bought the S22, but am returning it today and switching to iPhone for ALL the same reasons. Btw, I also bought the Garmin Venu 2S and it is supposed to work with the iPhone. thanks again and great job 👍
Thanks for sharing your switch to iPhone experience. You know what, we also finally made the switch to iPhone after using Android for so long. I bet a lot of folks are gonna get some real value from your insights. Can't wait for your next video!
You did the same thing I did a year ago. Well kinda. I still have an Android and just upgraded to the S22 Ultra. I don't think I'll upgrade to the 14 from the 13 Iphone Pro Max. It really all depends on functionality and what you do for your phone. You hit it with the first point, Face Time. Everybody loves FaceTime LOL. If you can handle a Galazxy phone the iPhone will be a breeze. It's kid friendly. One thing I will say is that Apple Customer service is top notch. You can call and talk to someone 24/7 and ask them all kinds of questions.
❤ Thank you, Ms. Susie!! Within the first few minutes of this video, you definitely have described all the emotions that I’ve been feeling in be last week since switching from my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G to my new iPhone Pro 14. You’re right, it feels nice, but so different. I’ve just got a little bit more of a headache with the learning curve because I’ve got brain cancer, had a craniotomy, and a lot of brain damage since I had my iPhone 6 Plus. I have no idea what was going in the Apple world, or the Galaxy! Hahaha 😂 Thanks, sis for sharing! God bless! ❤
So apparently it’s been 3 months since you posted this video so how much are you enjoying the iPhone? My wife and I always had Android phones with the last two being the Samsung s9 then the s20. Since most of the family had iPhones we decided to transfer over to iPhones ourselves. We got the iPhone 14 pro max and the transition was miserable to say the least. We’ve had them about the same amount of time as you. 4 months. I really wish we hadn’t switched. I find everything more difficult. Android let you just clear all open pages with a simple click. Now we’re swiping away one page at a time. There are some neat features but nothing that makes me love it. Hope you’re enjoying it but us not so much lol
I’m so glad I found your channel!!! I myself am a lifelong android user until last year I got this iPad Pro n love it I’m waiting on the iphone15 ultra to come out I’m giving this S21 ultra up lol THANKS again for this info I’m anxious to get my 15!!
I’ve been using Android phones since the Droid Incredible, currently using a Pixel 4a 5G. As for computers, I’ve been using Windows based PCs for decades, I like the convenience of building my own and possibility of just replacing parts if they break down or need to upgrade. For file transfers from my phone to my desktop, I just connect my usb cable and transfer the file from my phone over to whatever folder on my PC. For tablets, I’ve used several different Android one and never liked it much, for that I’ve been using iPads. Maybe the upcoming Pixel tablet with its dock will change my mind.
Ah!... My Android sibling! 😆 I too started my Android journey with the Incredible. I absolutely loved that phone. I've had some "up and down" experiences with various phones over the years, but I have to say that my S22 Ultra is far and away the best phone ever.
@@DuyNguyen-fo8vl I've had a Nexus (6, maybe?) before, and I liked it. I always appreciate the pure Android experience. The Google phones are always a consideration for me when time for an upgrade. This time, Samsung won. Next time, it may very well be a Pixel.
I’ve had android from the beginning of their existence but last year switch to The IPhone 13 mini because I don’t like how big phones are getting and this is the smallest and just right size. The other thing I like is the find my iPhone app. I also got the watch and I’m always losing my phone and this feature is great. My biggest complaints is no SD slot and the fact that apple phones do not like PCs for file transfers.
I did the opposite, after eleven-year iPhone only, and twenty-two-year Apple everything Apple only, I purchased a Samsung Note 20, it is still my EDC. Also, I switched to Windows as well. Being as I use primarily non-Apple software; I could not understand why I was using an iPhone and Apple computers. There were many times I could not accomplish things on the iPhone whereas my Android friends could, it became frustrating and infuriating. Often, I had to FTP into a site, the iPhone could not accomplish it, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Ask an Android user to get the files for me. Maybe Apple fixed the issue, but too little too late. Apple and Samsung's ecosystem are about on par, at times one is better than the other, and visa versa. Still the Samsung ecosystem is better than Apple's, we have RCS messages Apple refuses to join the rest of the world messaging apps. Samsung has continuity, they have two types of Airdrop protocols, Nearby Share and Quick Share. There is so much more. The good news with Samsung is you are not locked in. When I switched to Samsung, wow there is a whole world out outside of Apple's Walled Garden. Yes, I was getting green bubble comments; it was their issue not mine. It is sad iPhone users berate, cajole, intimidate, belittle, Android users. I have seen when a lady texting a man would not date him because his response came back as a green bubble. Another person lost out on a job because of her green bubbles. HR texted her about accepting her and come back for the onboarding interview, however when she texted back they ghosted her and took the offer away. She found out later the person texting her did not like Android users; green bubble folks. Children in schools are ostracized by their peers, and worse for having Android phones. There are hundreds of stories like the afore mentioned. Folks, that type of mentality is unacceptable. For those examples and others, I do not want to be involved with Apple. That all said if you like Apple continue purchasing their products, I have Apple stock so your purchases help me, thank you.
Still very happy with my android specifically samsung note series. Just recently replaced my note 9 to s22 ultra with fixed max storage of 512gb and has the wireless charger like magsafe plus 4 camera. S22 ultra is the combination of s22 plus and note 10. Only thing i don't like about the upgrade is the headset jack and extendible storage micro sd card no longer available. All wireless access. But i bought an adapter to handle the duo headset option and usb-c. I too had 1 iphone and macbooks but still prefer my android and windows os. Anyway legit reasons you have for the switch. Also heard recently that iPhone is switching to usb-c. Boils down to user preference. Good luck with transition :)
I made the switch from samsung android phones back to iphone last year.. mainly because of Apple CarPlay.. my car did not have android auto and had Apple CarPlay and I really wanted to be able to use my phone more in the car than I could with basic bluetooth! I don't regret it one bit! It took a bit to get used to the different gestures and the keyboard differences but I think it was pretty fast before it seemed like second nature! I did however buy into the whole ecosystem and in the past year have bought an apple watch, airpods, and even a couple ipads and a macbook air.. I don't regret it though because they just make their products to work so well together and I feel you get the best experience that way in the long run. 😂
I totally relate to you! might be a Gemini thing. My last iPhone was the iPhone 7, Got the iPhone 14 Pro model as well and felt everything you said on point! like did't want to turn it on, thinking about not making the switch etc. Long story short. It was surprisingly easy making the transition. I was so amaze with how iOS user interface is so amazing and well refined! If the iPhone came in USB-C It would be the perfect phone in my opinion.
I have everything Apple, but I use a Google Pixel 6A as a phone. I sold my iPhone SE2 that I had as a backup. Lightroom for Android has way more advanced features than the iPad/iOS version. On Android, I can rate, apply and edit info/captions on multiple photos at once, with the iPad I can only do one photo at a time. With iPad/iOS is also more cumbersome to post photos on Instagram if they are stored on your Google drive. Google Maps is great, if I look for a location on my iMac in Chrome, that location will be also saved on my Pixel. I also like the USB-C port and charging, although wireless charging may make that obsolete. But the point you make for Airdrop is so true, But iMessage/Facetime, couldn't you just be using WhatsApp instead? Anyway, the thing I am most frustrated with is the crippled Adobe Lightroom for iOS and iPad. it is kind of a dealbreaker. The features have been on the Android version since 2019, and users requested Adobe to enable them on iOS/iPad. Not sure if it is Adobe's laziness or the OS for iPad/iPhone that prevents it. Siri kind of sucked I remember, compared to hey google. But I have not used it in a couple of years.
I recently moved into the IPhone world with the IPhone 14 Pro Max Tr., and I don’t regret it. I am very pleased, I made the moved due to security breaches and spam on my Samsung Galaxy Note 21 and I was a dedicated Note girl since the very first one came out. Now I am in a whole new world with apple and looking to add on more for my whole family.
Great video. I'm the exact same on last using a iPhone was the 3g. I went with the 14 Pro Max. I just got it yesterday so still adjusting. I just discovered we can install Gboard instead of using the default keyboard. I was hating not having a number row and long press symbols
I just watched your video and I know that you said you have a Garmin watch and you don’t expect to fully buy into the Apple ecosystem but if you decide to stay with the iPhone consider getting an Apple Watch because if you’re filming yourself you can use the Apple Watch as an external viewfinder so you can actually frame yourself up and you can even wrap it around your phone so that you can actually use it as a front facing monitor.
I'm about to do the same when the 15 pro max comes out. I'm typing this on my S22 ultra that gets barley 4 hours of screen on time and I've NEVER had an iPhone, never cared for them. But things have change over the years and now I'm excited to switch. Even if I hate everything about it, at least I won't have to charge it twice or 3 times a day.
I am so glad to hear and see someone upgrading their phone rather rarely. I do that too, and often times, reviews can be a bit unrelateable because they always compare models from a year before, meanwhile i like to compare the latest model with my current phone that i use for several years. That seems much more realistic, because people in my surroundings dont switch their phones year after year. Also, i was a person that got her first smartphone in 2015. and i've had an iPhone since then (6,6s, now xs). I am very satisfied with every one i had and i'm planning on upgrading to the 15 pro when it releases. I only now notice the difference in performances from the newest phones. Yes, the iPhone is pricy, but if you plan on using it for, let's say 4 years, i think it is well worth it.
I think that iPhones are fantastic and the cameras are great. I doubt you’d regret it. And there are third party camera apps that you can buy for doing mobile photography and mobile videography that I think you should try. But I don’t think you’ll regret it, and I’ve been using Apple for a while and have loved it.
I'm in the same boat as you. I've always used some form of Android phones either a Motorola. Or mostly Samsung, but now I'm wanting an iPhone really, really bad and I'm a little nervous about switching but I think it'll be OK. Ay, thanks for the video. It's really helping.
The apple ui is abhorrent to me, personally. There is very little that is intuitive for me in almost every aspect of the apple environment. If I want to change some esoteric aspect of my android experience, I can quickly and easily find where to make the change and change it with very little difficulty. It sucks because there are undeniably superior apps available on the apple app store.
My favorite part of the Apple ecosystem is the ability to use Messages on the laptop/desktop. You’ll have to go into settings/Messages and flip the toggle to activate it. It’s so nice when you want to reply with a long message but don’t want to type it one finger tap at a time.
I know I'm late to this video, but if you haven't already, you should definitely get yourself an Apple Watch to go with it. I noticed you have a Galaxy Watch on in the video, so I'm guessing you would really love the Apple Watch to go with your iPhone. I switch between iOs and Android often and they are b9th great. You won't be disappointed with either, honestly.
Airdrop upload/download speed with a Macbook M1/Apple environment is insane! Also just found out about iCloud's shared photo library. If you haven't checked into it yet, shared libraries allows you to take pics with one iphone and have it show up on another iphone that's under the same icloud account (no compression or quality loss!). Makes it super easy to share photos/vids when traveling!
Had been in the same boat. Liked the headphone slot, SD card slot and samsung removed both of those. Now both the phones seem very similar in build quality and fearures that it makes more sense going for iphone due to better apps, security, cheaper repairs, better third party accessories. 14 Pro takes slightly better out of the box portraits. S22 is better wide.
I switched to an iPhone 13 Pro Max from a Note 20 Ultra, and let’s be honest…the iPhone is buggy, camera highly overrated, screen scratches easily, it’s heavy, keyboard is a mess, google search bar is hidden and iMessage setting non-existent! Other than that I like my iPhone 13 Pro Max, it’s a good phone😂
In 2022 I bought my friends 12 pro max as my first iPhone for $200. It's been great. Had tons of Androids from the T-Mobile G1 to the Note 12. The apple ecosystem is amazing. Apple Pay is accepted in more places than google/Samsung pay. Beta testing is exciting
Android phones are REALLY easy to move files from. A USB-C cable you already have and put it into file transfer mode. Perhaps its easy in Windows and only a pain on MacOS?
I've been thinking about changing, but the Samsung photography is best when we go out people ask me to take the pictures. good luck can't wait for reviews
Iphone just feels like a peer pressure device. Everyone wants one because everyone else has one which gets frustrating because then there's herd mentality. With that said, I like my back button too much lol
Hey, I'm about to switch to iPhone 14 Pro too, but 256GB version (on the website they wrote by 128GB max Quality of Videos or something like that is not allowed. Because of the size of pics and videos I think 256GB or up will be the best choice). I had only android phones (Samsung, Huawei, LG) yet, but all of the phones had quality issues (screen issues, ratteling something inside, heat problems etc.) Even my 1,5 years old Samsungs screen already has a burning out LED-s and its camera makes ratteling noises, what is pretty annoying for that pricetag it had. I really loved my 2nd gen iPod Shuffle and 4th gen iPod Nano, I was never disappointed with them and I hope it will be the same with the iPhone 14 Pro. Greetings from Hungary 😊
I applaud your courage. I've been team Android my whole life ever since phone's first hit the scene 😄 I finally got my first iPhone about 2 months ago. Went with the iPhone 14 plus and I must say the learning curve is a pain. It does run smooth. iOS is a very smooth operating system I must say and the battery life on my 14 Plus is out of this world even though my main sim card is in my iPhone 14 Plus I use my pixel 7 pro more than my iPhone and all my other Android phones for that matter. I don't know how to explain it. Even though my main sim Wait, let me rephrase that my main phone number is on my eSIM on my iPhone the first phone I grab and use in the morning is my Android You'll see. and Siri is okay but the Google Assistant is so much better to me anyway but for now my main esim (phone number) will stay in the iPhone 14 Plus I told myself I'd give it 6 months but to be totally honest the way I'm feeling now about iPhone, I'm probably going to end up going back to Android. But you never know. The more and more I use the iPhone I might change my mind good luck on your new endeavor
It's been not even a week since I got my new iPhone 14 pro gold, switching from my Samsung note 20. I have to say, I quite regretted it. This is my first iphone ever but after a long list of androids I've used I'm just getting quite bored with it and decided to switch, plus I got an ipad and loving it. But now... Everything is a pain to use. From setting ringtone, to keyboard, to ugly selfies, to navigation.. everything is just heading in the wrong direction. I'm seriously thinking of selling off the iPhone now but I told myself to just try to hold on for 3 months. Sadly there's no return policy in my country so there's no other way to undo this stupid decision 🥲
@@maselyna313 Have you tried the pixel 7? It's really a great phone and good experience. Right now I've been using the Nothing Phone one and there's just something about this phone that keeps me coming back to it I'm honestly thinking about making this my daily driver this phone has a flagship like feel with flagship like features for a mid-range price I was lucky enough to get in on what they call the beta program that Nothing offered to the US Market. And for $299.00 money well spent. Even at the 400.00 that it is selling for now I would recommend this phone.anyway good luck with your iPhone. I'm really looking forward to the Pixel 8 pro it's said to have a flat screen this time around 🙏
@@BigJeffroeX438othing Phone 1 is quite good overall, a good midrange. My only issue is shutter lag when taking Photos. Snapdragon 778G+ is totally enough for everyday use.
@@BigJeffroeX438 just an update, I eventually stop using the iphone after 3 weeks as I can't take it anymore. Sold it off after a month and got myself an Honor Magic 5 Pro. Great experience so far 😸 So I guess.. android for life 🤟😂
I will never will switch from Andris to IPhone. Andrix is easier to use including map, very useful for often travels. Even simple water is better than apple juice.
One tip regarding shooting on iPhone: you don’t really need airdrop unless you really need to edit the footage right after you shoot it. You can use iCloud photo, it will sync all the footage in your photo album to all your Apple device including iPad, Mac, and Apple TV in background automatically (you can even set it to only sync when connected to Wi-Fi to save some data). Also, it will save some storage on your device because it will only save a base quality footage on your device and put all the full quality version on cloud. The down side is that iCloud cost extra.
Tbh it’s valid. I switched to the Apple ecosystem because of my iPad using it for almost 2 years for school and work, and how functional it is to use Siri as a daily assistant over google. I also see my email notifications sooner than my Samsung android phone, which sometimes misses the notifications. Then I got the iPhone 13 two weeks ago. The FaceTime abilities and messaging fun that Facebook messenger can’t match, track your phone, Apple Maps works just fine, and even remembers where you parked your car with your iPhone. And Black Friday, landed a base model M1 Pro laptop to do video editing with fast export times over my Thinkpad with an 8th gen i7 that takes wayyy too long to export. I just need the Apple Watch and some Airtags to complete my setup. Other than that, I do feel it’s a worthy setup that I wished I ventured in sooner. Android is great with more apps on the Play Store and you can torrent cooler apps. And the ability to add a microSd card to most android phones to expand storage, with also great camera quality at a sub $500 or less price than what an iPhone would cost double. But it is a worthy ecosystem that blends better for ease of lifestyle with functionality. I really enjoy it! So for those android users, trust me, it’s good to have an ecosystem that can make life more a conversation with Siri. Once you get used to how to use the system, you start getting creative!
At 70 I finally made the switch from Androids with no regrets . I don't know about the latest iPhones (3 Cameras) but my 10r has a superb single camera with excellent stabiliser and gives superb results for Photos and Video for forwarding on copies of clients Fine Art Prints, perfect for marketing purposes
Definitely an advantage to be on an iPhone in some ways when it comes to business, although productivity with samsung products is next level as well. Can't really go wrong with either, but if it can benefit you to be in circles or communication with clients through imessage, well that could be really nice.
Transferring process is such a pain, muscle memory can be learned over time…im going through a similar phase…from android for over a decade to iphone…my last iphone prior to my android journey was an iphone 4s though😅
not all my chat apps, Chat history can be moved over😅 and Gboard isn't so easy to use on the iphone...i guess my muscle memory hasn't kicked in yet...hope ur getting used to it...the way the photo gallery of ios is organized isnt as easy to go through as One UI😅
And same here again. I kept up with general iphone news even as a android and Samsung ueer. I knew magsafe was a magnetic attachment system but it's much more than I thought it was
One other thing if you have any other friends or family that use Android phones, make sure that you both get on a third-party messaging app because any videos that you send from your iPhone to their Android phone Apple is absolutely going to destroy. Apparently they do this on purpose to try and encourage people to move to iPhones and not have Android, but they literally compress the video and destroy it so bad that it’s almost, I shouldn’t say almost it’s absolutely unusable, so grab a third-party messaging app something like Telegram or WhatsApp even Facebook messenger they will all help but just know sending video from an iPhone to an Android phone is a no go however, you can do it the other way around you can send a video from Android to iOS, because Android does not destroy the video.
Oh man, I'm all too familiar with this problem. It's been IMPOSSIBLE for me to exchange videos with my family and it is admittedly one of the reasons why I'm switching to iPhone. Being able to share videos with my family is more meaningful now that I have a baby.
Not looking forward to the Apple ecosystem? Will you have a choice? I purchased my first iPhone back in February. Lots of my favorite android apps are not available on IOS. Some are but don't work the same because the app developers have limited access to the IOS code due to Apple's proprietary nature. But the most disappointing part of my new phone is the terrible screen sensitivity issues. I double and triple tap so many times it drives me crazy....and yes I have used the what sensitivity adjustments there are on the phone. The Apple Store geniuses said the phone is fine and it must be a "software issue" meaning that they didn't take the time to make IOS more compatible. Great screen, good cameras and I like the silence switch on the side but in my opinion android beats IOS hands down. I'm going back.
Good video overall. Android phones can do everything IPhones can do with an app and more. If you don’t have iphone 15 money you won’t get USB C. I use a USB flash drive to back things up from my phone and laptop. I’ll admit I do miss airdrop but there are some workarounds. iPhones don’t have split screen, no native stylus support, no iPhones with Headphone jack or expandable storage, no side loading apps, and no desktop mode. The point you made about being able to create more content around the iphone totally makes sense. Congratulations on the addition to your family and best of luck to you.
Welcome to the club! I look forward to iPhone photo-video accessory reviews. I am deep In the Apple ecosystem and I find the “Proper Honest Tech” youtube channel provides outstanding tips and tutorials for Apple devices.
It is always good to be in a different environment, same as going for a long holiday after 13 years of just working. Enjoy iOS. For me, I have switched to Android and am also enjoying this system and the much cheaper phone. They are quite basically the same except some things. And comparing a much DATED S10 phone with the latest iPhone 14 Pro is TOOOOOO way off as a comparison, lol.
welcome to the team..first of all, you need to had the Apple ecosystems which is by Macbook, the Apple Watch, and some of the accessories to competed it..had to rid off the android and get in touch with the Apple ecosystems just like I do back in 2020 till this year 2023 and beyond.
I have a Gaxaly S10e and the camera quality (on all apps) on pretty trash, battery life too. I've always been like Apple just raised in an android household. I'm so looking forward to switching for so many reasons.
Finally upgraded from iphone 6s to iphone 14 Pro, 256 GB in Feb 2023. In Mar 2023, out of 256 GB, 65 GB is some grey System Data, that the only way to get rid of is to completely erase and reset the phone... (Yes, safari cache and recently deleted and other app cache is already cleared out) Hmm. not sure if it was a good upgrade.
I switched with the iPhone 12! Now on 14pro max ! My pixel 6 is a mess. I won’t ever go back to android. One of the big things to consider is that Samsung does not update the operating system to the latest android software, which means when a new android OS gets released your apps are not going to be working as they should because you are not running the correct operating system. Considering that Samsung charges more than apple for top of the line phones and they don’t update the OS constantly like apple is outrageous. If your phone breaks, you can always go to an Apple store for $13 a month with AppleCare. Your phone is covered with theft and loss. Samsung uses a asurion which is third party refurbished phones which usually are terrible. Stick with iOS you’ will soon forget about android all together, especially when you decide to render a video on your iPhone. One more thing airdrop, iMessage, integration something that android sucks at lol Happy New year
@@Gemini_Connect even with that and my YT channel #dniceadventures I recently bought an HP Envy 360...it's beautiful does just as good as an apple mac for less the cost.
Magsafe is just a "magnitic ring" back of your phone it can be sold separately and get use of wallet and other stuff regarding magcharger it allows iphone to charge on 15 Watts which other android phone can give more without introducing "a new technology" 😊
I've just made the move too, i miss my Pixel 7 Pro for the camera, Google Assistant and customisation. Not having Assistant working via voice commands is a real PITA for me. By the way RIP to your Garmin watch, I ust got the Apple watch Ultra and have ditched my Fenix 6X.
I had 5SE iPhone for 3-4 years. But looking at reviews I bought Samsung s22 7-8 months ago, but later found that some of the gimbals and apps functions do not work with android, but work with iPhone. if I knew I waited for iphone 14.
my huawei p30 stopped receiving updates last year after 3 years. Bought it almost 4 years ago. It's still kicking and I still love this unit. I'm been trying to hold off buying a one since the phone is still working but I am having problems getting real-time work updates because I am not allowed to access our mobile company portal because my phone is no longer updated. I'm gearing towards samsung s23 but I heard it will only receive major updates for 3 years and 5 years of security update which is a sad considering it's price. I might consider getting an iphone 14 since they promised for 5 years support of major updates.
I just got an iPhone 14 Pro Max, I went from Realme GT 2 Pro. I really not sure about it. Some things I knew were going to be different (configurability), other irk me no end (although I probably need to learn how to do it with iOS).
It was a really great decision, i am a android user for a long time and switch to iPhone and I really don’t regret it. As you already said you have a macbook and now you have an iphone, the more you use them the more you’re going deep into apple ecosystem.
Switching back to google. I switched to an iphone12 pro max, a few years ago, and immediately found that what I think we care about, the cameras and lenses, seemed to be worse than the pixel 3 I had at the time. Unfortunately, Google killed the pixel 3 with updates that made it virtually unusable. Since then, I've become a content creator, of a sort, and have just switched back to a Pixel fold for a couple reasons, mainly due to screen real estate. I will say, the phone's camera is also better, but this time, we're a few years ahead, and my iphone is older, so there is that. I use Google Drive for my channel, and apple makes it super difficult to move files to Drive, compared to the pixel fold when I want to do it quickly. That is probably the number one complaint that led me to leave the iphone.
Everybody in the world gets system updates on the same day with iPhone, but I had to wait for months when I owned a Samsung. The Apple Watch is also fantastic, and I'm going to upgrade to the Ultra with cellular, to get phone calls in case I forget my phone.
For video makes sense. I don't have anything Apple so wouldn't make sense for me. I recently bought the pixel 7 pro and I'm happy so far. My first Google phone since the nexus 5. Fingers crossed.
Man it must only be me or something, but I want to switch because every android device I've gotten has always had a technical difficulty after a year or two. But my iPad and iPhone work so good always.
I’ve had this beautiful looking LG G6 and really love it, but unfortunately it’s getting over the hill and now I’m debating if I should move over to an iPhone. I don’t game or shoot videos just basic needs so that’s where I’m at with my next purchase decision.
I.bought an Iphone 13 pro (1st iPhone) and got it to have a second line, the camera, and the compatibility with gimbal apps (I get all the frame rates and features) I kept the Samsung Note 20 as my daily driver. For business the pen is so convenient. It also has great cameras and still like it better for photos. I do prefer the IPhone for video. So, best of both worlds. I will probably do this again when I upgrade. Obviously its expensive to have both. I would consider switching to Iphone completely if they had a pen with good pen apps.
I recently bought an iPhone 14 Pro Max but still keeping my s10 5G as my daily driver. I honestly think they weren't that too much apart; the older flagship still works fine. I just need an iPhone to match my iPad and M2 Macbook Air and utilize the Apple ecosystem.
Aw, come on. The iPhone 14 Pro Max would have been the ideal choice. The battery back up on the 14 pro is so-so. Switching from the Samsung to Apple is the best choice among all the S23 Ultra hype. I'm at this point where if Samsung does something revolutionary, I'd still choose Apple. There's this mysterious aura about iPhones that Android will never decipher. 128GB? You'll run out of storage faster than Samsung will ever keep up with Apple's videography
I did this exact switch too! Lol Except I have the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in the ceramic black edition, (which actually has the same build quality, weight, and feel like the iPhone Pro), and I got my first iPhone 14 Pro Max to match my S10 Plus
I have always used iPad. I also have a MacBook Pro since 3 years (the M1 convinced me). 3 years ago I also had a Galaxy S10 and I thought about waiting for the iPhone 13 Pro to get fully in the Apple eco system, but then the Galaxy S21 range came out and I stopped waiting and got the S21 Ultra instead, which I still own. Now I'm not sure what to do next: iPhone 15 Pro (Max) or wait a little longer for the S24 Ultra. I live in Belgium and almost everybody uses Whatsapp and Messenger here. No use for iMessage here. Airdrop might be nice though. And maybe being able to phone with my Mac, although I'm not sure whether I would really use that. My fear is also the whole transiting part. Android on the phone seems cool to me. The lay-out of my iPad Pro is a little boring. I do have several headphones and ear phones, going from AirPods 3 over Bose CQ Buds 2, Galaxy Buds Pro and Sony WH-1000 XM3. No Apple Watch of course. I have a Garmin Fenix 7X SS and a collection of non-smartwatches. So basically all my non-Apple products are perfectly fine to use in the Apple eco system, but my Apple products are not not very usable with my phone. Also, I'm a bit afraid maybe the iPhone might not be entirely be my thing and too expensive compared to the best Samsung devices (here in Belgium iPhones are more expensive than high and Galaxy phones). So if I want to change back to Android in 2-3 years from now, it will all be for nothing and then again I have to make a transition, although maybe a more easy one, since pictures and movies will be retractable from my phone a lot more easy then if I have to get all of my Samsung pics and vids onto my Mac... Some experience and advice would be nice.
Hey, I loved my iphone 4 but when android phones were 100x bigger and iphone was taking forever to make big phones, I switched. Now I'm thinking of going back. Do you think overall ios just has a more pleasant aesthetic? Are the animations really that much smoother?
@@hobosnake1 I did the very same with my iPhone 4 which i might add at the time was incredible.Switching to the Note 4 with its excellent display and 4k felt great but i only had it a year or so as i hated clunky android.Swapped back to a iPhone 6 which wasn’t for me so tried the first Google Nexus which was ok but again clunky android. Since then i have just changed my iPhones every few years.Actually my current iPhone 11 is the phone i have stuck with the longest but will be definitely changing up next year.Fingers Crossed we see USB-C in the 15 or they can shove it! But yeah back to the OS,what with the iPad they gel well together with apps and cloud,it just does it for me.
@GT Retro World I'm just looking for smooth experience. Visually and functionally smooth. Seems like that's the ios brand, so I'm hoping to be satisfied and I have a feeling I will.
I've watched a million "Why I switched" type videos. This is easily the nicest, most chill watch. No stupid thumbnails or flash; just great video and commentary!
Thank you so much! This is my first time making a video in this style, so I appreciate the feedback.
Agreed with both of you. Good lock is amazing. Samsung is the only direct iphone competitor in my opinion
⛔️😐🖕ON IPHONE YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD MOD APPS...YOU BUY THEM
I switched from S22 Ultra and Galaxy watch 4.
@@ShaferHart apple never provided sdcard lmao
Made switch from Samsung to iphone I actually hated it , it is extremely limited, I used to enjoy having cellphone customizing it n stuff , had access to anything, google is my fav browser which nicer on android n it's bulky here yuk ,I used to install videos, songs ,use Spotify premium for free lol , now I only make phone calls n take nice selfies , but I'm planning to go back to android.
So your cell phone addiction was cured and instead of getting a life you decided to plunge back in?
@@cosmic_gate476 in whatever way you understood it, do u have a problem with that ?
You're not a mind controlled bot.
I said fuck it they make the same phone every year picked up a 12 for myself and a 13 for my mom
I haven't regretted moving over to iPhone (save for the cost!!). The camera is simply stunning , third party camera apps are plentiful and if you have a Mac already they all work well together. There's a few android apps I miss and some software in my niche is Android only, but on balance I'm staying on iOS.

Same I'm waiting for the iPhone 15 pro max or ultra
Or the iPhone 15 Ultra (they predict- with USB type C, haptic buttons, stainless steel with the biggest camera bump for iPhone ever - that is if leaks are correct) 😁
@@1eryear yes :) and I believe the leaks said is titanium
My last iPhone was a iPhone 3G as well, but purchased a iPhone 14 recently and I love it
OK now this is the last comment and I’m gonna stop and that is if you do go back to Android, just know that you can quickly and easily transfer your files from your Android phone over to your Mac using either free web-based services called snap drop or share drop or you can get a paid app called McDroid that is like 4.99 and it will allow you to quickly and easily send over files to your Mac and vice versa.

You express yourself in a way which is easy to listen to, understand and without as much ego as most other reviewers.
Recently I set up the latest iPhones for my mom and brother and boy such pain in my behind, I'm either sticking to Samsung or trying Sony on my next upgrade.
try MOTO, MI, IQOO
God bless! ❤
I came over from galaxy S10 also but I love my iPhone 13 and I just brought my first 10 generation iPad and it’s awesome so easy to use 😊
@@CraigLively you should try a new Pixel phone
And Apple is supposed to be an inclusive company 😂 frauds! When it comes to their money!
But the point you make for Airdrop is so true,
But iMessage/Facetime, couldn't you just be using WhatsApp instead?
Wow, I didn't know that. I could do that with my Samsung Galaxy watch and my Galaxy phone -- it was a cool feature!
Martin agrees!
…..iPhone has cheaper repairs?
The older I get the more I like my Computer to be a Mac and my smartphone to be an Android device. Just feels like the best of both worlds
You could have gone with the s 23 ultra, amazing!!!!
Comparing a Samsung S10 to the brand new iPhone is not an apples-to-apples comparison. Samsung makes amazing phones with amazing build quality.
Hey,
I'm about to switch to iPhone 14 Pro too, but 256GB version (on the website they wrote by 128GB max Quality of Videos or something like that is not allowed. Because of the size of pics and videos I think 256GB or up will be the best choice).
I had only android phones (Samsung, Huawei, LG) yet, but all of the phones had quality issues (screen issues, ratteling something inside, heat problems etc.)
Even my 1,5 years old Samsungs screen already has a burning out LED-s and its camera makes ratteling noises, what is pretty annoying for that pricetag it had.
Should of ram to me before I smashed my 14 pro max deep purple 1 tb 2 months ago
Several months later, I have no issues with the UI on the iPhone and AirDrop is something I use daily. No regrets!
not all my chat apps, Chat history can be moved over😅 and Gboard isn't so easy to use on the iphone...i guess my muscle memory hasn't kicked in yet...hope ur getting used to it...the way the photo gallery of ios is organized isnt as easy to go through as One UI😅
Im doing the same today. Can't wait!
There is an option on WhatsApp to keep high quality videos and pictures. It's just an option to toggle😉
I'm going back.
the best thing about magsafe is the battery packs you can slap on for a quick charge
I am deep
In the Apple ecosystem and I find the “Proper Honest Tech” youtube
channel provides outstanding tips and tutorials for Apple devices.
Thanks for the tip!
U make a good choice I’m a android user for years and now I switching to iPhone 14pro max, it’s a great wonderful phone 👍👍👍
One more thing airdrop, iMessage, integration something that android sucks at lol
Happy New year
I love my android phone. I don't have to pay for every app. Plus I'm not sucked in by the apple consumption of products.
I'm mentally committing to not buying into the ecosystem beyond a new laptop, but we'll see....
@@Gemini_Connect even with that and my YT channel #dniceadventures I recently bought an HP Envy 360...it's beautiful does just as good as an apple mac for less the cost.
I switched to iPhone 13 from the S10 too and the only thing I really miss is the swipe gestures.
I'm transitioning to the Iphone this year. My last iphone was the 4s. My reasons are many that you have mentioned.
Starting the video with last night!
Alright, let's see where it goes.
Jokes aside, great content.
Ohhhh I'm contemplating this too!!! God I love your content your like a mind reader
I almost switched last week for the same reasons. I love my s21. I use the edge and multitasking too often to switch
I’m exited about these series!
P7 as a beast! Fully loaded pure Android experience and super smooth! I tried iPhone for a while but just couldn't do it!
Interesting that the Apple Pencil doesn’t work with the iphone - you’d think it would!
@@Gemini_Connect Unfortunately, they just work with the Ipad.....
Bought my first iPhone and im never going back to android. I will keep and android tablet tho bt my im in love with this 14pro.
I couldn't agree more!
I did this exact switch too! Lol
Except I have the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in the ceramic black edition, (which actually has the same build quality, weight, and feel like the iPhone Pro), and
I got my first iPhone 14 Pro Max to match my S10 Plus
I have mooched between both over the years but always come back to Apple. The OS is just always bang on.
Good Choice!!! I got Max and it rules.
