What the hell happened to Apple's design philosophy about less is more?? They were trying to design their phones to be 'Buttonless'. Now they are adding buttons??? I think the Tim Apple era is coming to an end...
@@VT990 Apple was already established under steve. The new products to come out were already in waiting for the next 5-10 years. Any competent person could take over. The point is tim is TOTALLY NOT a visionary and it shows. Just minor upgrades on products. Steve created products and sectors within tech before it was a thing and people conformed around that. Right now apple is lagging in AI, for example, and it has copied Google and Samsung so many times in other areas, products and features, it's hard to count.

The compulsive habit of getting a new phone every year is why you feel the way about the 16 pro. Most people don’t change their phone every year. If you had the 15 pro, why change?
Deal breakers both phones Pro: Too heavy. Ugly camera bump, too expensive Non-Pro: 60hz, no AOD Both: None of the stuff they promised, iOS indeed start to look bloated and a lot of redundancy. Pointless camera button, what a waste of research. Keeping my 13 pro (also too heavy) for longer.
That’s why, I stayed in 17.7 and waiting for at least the 18 become more stable. Wow man, this professional format juxtaposed with your typical comedic style makes your perspective resonate deep. I wish you had acknowledged that Apple implemented many features requested by users in IOS 18. It seems like the first software update they’ve issued in a long time that listened to its customers. However - the general message is spot on, because there was a time when we didn’t need to ask because they solved issues we never realized existed. Its simple Jon Apple is doing too many things in my opinion. When Steve Jobs came back in 1997 they had over 350 products Steve cut all of those down to just 10 products. It allowed them to be more focused on quality over quantity. Except Apple is also doing all these services too. I also think its partially an issue also perpetrated by the tech communities insatiable hunger for constant innovation or as you stated "change for the sake of change" because if the change isnt substantial people claim they are lazy. But I think smartphones are just extremly mature there really isnt much else to do except foldables. Which is why bi yearly releases should become the norm.
this is basically like car manufacturers slapping a new model year on the same car and changing the wheel style to maintain the same base price instead of lowering it
did he just compare a giant camera sensor to a phone's 48 mp camera sesnor? is he that dumb? i am sure he knows about pixel size but chose to utter this non sense because he had to fill in points to justify his video title
Am I arguing that more megapixels = better quality sensor? No. If I thought that, we wouldn't have a studio camera. But megapixels do directly correlate to the ability to crop zoom-- so yes, I did compare.
You just said exactly what we thrived to see from apple, its is loosing there loyal customers, I’ve been a user since 2010 never had anything else, I don’t need heavy triple camera, I need a phone that fits in pocket does it job, and keep me professional. Going from a 15 Pro to a base 16 makes no logical sense, the 15 Pro is still better in almost every way.

that wide angle camera is a MUST have for my profession, and its why year after year I choose it. also as of the 15 pro, the SoC is better than the standard one. and dont forget that LiDAR sensor. the standard phones dont have it, and thus do not have LiDAR based automatic focusing.
I had 4 pro phones before the 16 released and I went with the base 16. The battery life is insane. Its so light and the camera is so good
Same thing here. Been going pro every year since the 11 and this year went 16 plus and I’m loving it. Took 2 secs to get use to 60hz again
is the 60hz that like annoying?

iOS 18 may seem messy to the average Apple user, but coming from Android the added customisation options was one of my primary incentives for me to try an iPhone. I never liked how limiting the software always seemed, and the day my iPhone got the beta drop it was so awesome seeing what iPhones could do now.

The Camera Control button is superfluous and unnecessary. It's too fiddly and awkward to use. And I hate having to rest my fingers on the button when I pick up and hold the phone.

What the hell happened to Apple's design philosophy about less is more?? They were trying to design their phones to be 'Buttonless'. Now they are adding buttons??? I think the Tim Apple era is coming to an end...
My point exactly. They are going more complex each day.

What apple could have been with Steve. tim is just a supply chain guy. Totally, NOT a visionary...
Tim didn't Cook
When Steve Jobs passed away Apple was so tiny compared to now. Most of their growth and success has been under Tim Cook.

Other creators should take note of Jern's style. He's not yelling and splashing endless AI videos behind himself. Just a person that knows what they are talking about talking like a reasonable person.

Pro: Too heavy. Ugly camera bump, too expensive
Non-Pro: 60hz, no AOD

Funny how before the 14 Pro people trashed on Apple for not having AOD, and now everyone’s like it’s useless. Funny how that works isn’t it?
Waiting for the iPhone 17 pro tbh. Want the redesign
Apple used to innovate with software and ecosystem and I feel I’m experiencing the slow collapse of a revolutionary company - and what’s most discouraging is they won’t see this feedback even if you offered it to them directly.
