At first I just turned my brain off and enjoyed the listen. But then I listened to the actual story. And hearing The Bird then The Mountain made me cry. "I can hear the rain."
I ended up tumbling into this band through a weird pipeline from Martin's solo stuff, to his inclusion of Elizabeth Hulls as a singer, and then finding out they were both in a band the whole time as Atomic Guava, and THEN these two were also a big part into this album and band slipping into my TH-cam recommendations. Kind of a crazy ride, but its all been a bunch of awesome discoveries. Still, this album still stood out in its own way between the fun (and sad) story, and some of the neat tricks employed in the album. I can't emphasize how much I adore The Crocodile uses that low distorted guitar string in a slow draw that perfectly makes me see the very beast itself taking its slow, distinct walk. I like The Falcon/Bear/Mountain songs more in the end, but that opening is so cool every time. I look forward to seeing if Ok Goodnight does another concept album, or what the next big project is after this.
Thank you for doing this! You put into words many of my feelings about the album. I was lucky enough to tell Martín that I was delighted to see them perform live at a small venue in Redding, California before they blew up and played arenas. Beautiful album and delightful, appreciative band members.
this album is only second to marujas knocknarea this year for me. truly on of the best pieces ive heard in a long time and ok goodnight need to blow up already so they can tour everywhere. great video

Ok Goodnight is one of my favorite bands on the planet, and this album is so far my number one of the year. Glad you enjoyed as I did! :D
I keep coming back and loving it even more every single time
Instant classic, can’t stop listening. Just bought both CDs.
