I really DO love your videos! They are just the way a rock hunter likes it: educational and explained by a professional geologist (=you), at least given with an approximate location in AZ and straight to the topic, no overwhelming additional crap! My brother in law lives in Phoenix and when I used to live in the U.S., I took his old Avalanche (and went to go rock hunting in areas where he wouldn't wanna know, where his car went back then 😁) to several locations such as Monarch Mine, Vanadine Mine, Peacock Mine and Burro Creek (from the difficult direction). In short term, even as an Austrian (we are also not short of minerals, especially beautiful quarz cristals), I have to say: Arizona is the Holy Land of rock hunting, I have never found better specimens anywhere in the world (haven't been to Minas Gerais in Brazil yet). To cut a long story short, please keep going with your excellent work and videos!😍😍😍
Those premature geodes were so cool!!! I’ll bet you can make earrings with them!! ❤ Love your vids!
I appreciated your explanation of the formation of thundereggs. Thank you.
That was fun! I really like how you describe where and how rocks are formed. It makes them even more fun😃.
This is one of your better teaching videos. I very much enjoyed your explanations of how some of these geodes were formed along with examples you found. Great stuff!
I just went to the dugway geode beds on Monday. Had a blast. Found some good ones
With gps coordinates!! You are a Rockstar!
Impromptu trips are always fun. Not dying in the desert IS a good thing. I like the dark contrasting outline around the one geod. Great explanation of how things happened. Keep having adventures!! See y'a next time. 😷⚒
So much fun finding rocks.
The next time my friend's kids are in town, I'm taking the oldest one to Lake Pleasant to do a bit of rockhounding. She's 1. very lucky - found a beautiful geode in the backyard, 2. as wild about rocks as I am, & 3. super curious about how geodes form, how they can look so different, & just everything about them.
Sub'd today on the way to 29k. I've lived in Phoenix my entire life. Can't wait to learn more about the earth in my backyard
Some of those would make cool rustic door pulls.
So neat to learn from how you are able to show and explain things ❤
Love your videos! I never heard of a thunderegg before. So interesting.
You’re in my back yard!! Huge fan- and super excited to see you are in my neighborhood finding treasures :). My 10yr old daughter and I love watching your adventures. I recently bought some land up west of Seligman AZ - and have a bunch of interesting rock outcroppings - your channel inspires us to explore more. Have you ever explored that area? Would love to know what to expect or if you recommend any books to help identify these hidden treasures - Thanks and keep up the great work and content! ❤
Can I just say...WOW!!
Ellen, I tuned into you while in Safford AZ Oct/23-Feb/24. I am home in WA state and am still tuning into your channel. Ty for all your work & information. You have a way of making your audience feel as though they were right there w/you. Keep on,
Keepin on.

Auto correct put in Ellen. Heads up
What a coincidence! I just arrived in Phoenix from Washington and finally had a moment to peek at my youtube and this video popped up in my for you feed. I used to live here, so I’m well familiar with Lake Pleasant, but I never knew I could find thunder eggs there!! I’m so happy this vid popped up for me!
You rock! Looks like Burro Spring.
Can confirm there’s not a ton in the wash. I did a video on that second site and my best find was on the trail you take to get down to the wash.
Six shooter canyon south of Globe. Geodes the size of watermelons, basketballs, and bowling balls. They were there in the 70's. Probably still are. Just walk the dry river bed.
Really COOL video! Thank you for dropping all that knowledge. Rock hounding is a such a blast and I do as much as I can when im out on the water.
Welcome to Az.. Make sure to pat the little donkey that roam around..😄👍🏼🐴
Also, if you’re available and would like to go on a hike, let us know and we could always meet up with you. Thank you so much again for your videos and your time. Have a wonderful night.
You're awesome 🎉
What a gem treasure you are fir sharing so much information, including locations!! My hubby and I will probably never get to do much rockhounding again due to h8m having a stroke a little over 2 yrs ago. Its very difficult for him to keep his balance walking over rocks or on uneven ground. He's met a cactus in a very personal encounter - it was not fun for him or me! We just can't risk him being injured out in the boonies 😥😨 - for a bucket of rocks.......... 🤔 But - you said you weren't to far from your car??? 😃 I have a solar battery pack that would allow him hours of video or movie watching sitting under a shade near the car....... yeah?! 😆
Damn, suddenly love rocks ❤
Good thing I live in Valley of Arizona
i understand some geodes are sponges that were buried in mud and left a cast that later filled.
Cool channel. I'm a geologist in real life. Got a sub today :)
Cool finds!
Good evening oh my goodness how I love your videos I just recently started following you and I’d love the fact that I am learning so much each time me and my boyfriend are having a great time with them thank you. We are in town housesitting for a friend in. Carefree and have been out through California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Nevada doing rock hounding and we are watching the videos on thunder eggs at Lake Pleasant and I was wondering if you could possibly let us know which. What is the nearest road to the wash that you are in so we could possibly look around and see what we can find I would really appreciate it. If not, I would also understand you don’t want all this goodness to get out.
😎👍
Good finds elley
🎉ROCKS🎉😍
Love your videos. Very informative. I'd love to get to Arizona sometime to visit some of the places that you show. Rock collecting there is so different than here in Pennsylvania.
Interesting.
Could you do a video showing your rock? Cutting/ polishing setups
First time viewing... you ever hunt in or around Albuquerque?
That area looks familiar, Any time you get an urge to head out to Lake Pleasant.
Would love to tag along. I know a few spots around there. Thanks for the video's, keep them coming.
What brand/model is that small saw?
Amazing 🤘 so glad we were able to make it out together the first time🙏💯💚
After Erin Corwins death, mines were really blocked off. I mean, I get it. But if someone wants to knock someone off and toss em in a mine, they will. They're murderers, not saints.
for some reason i though goedes in the same location would have a more consistent look
❤❤❤❤❤
Hi hillo ma'am 💜 God bless ❤️🌺🌹🙉🌞, watching from pinas garita San Enrique iloilo tnx ma'am.

Where are you? I live right by the lake and never knew 😱
LOLLLL is she rockhounding next to a campsite ?
You're quite pretty, Elley. 😍
Hey let's meet
You used a word I’m not familiar with. bocchoidal? If that’s how you spell it. What does that mean?
Doesn't seem very safe when you are sawing the rocks?
Masonry blades won't cut fingers.
bump
Elley, that Gold Prospecting magazine you said would give us a free magazine subscription, did not give me a subscription, and is just spamming my E-Mails.
Lmao
😂
Elley!! Fantastic video!! I’ll be in Camp Verde mid October!! You are the bomb!! (Lol, I’m 70) I want to hit this spot!! I am going to watch the heck out of this video!! Thank you for your hard earned info!!🌞🩷
