    Best camera comparison I've seen. Very exhaustive and my research will most likely end here. As much as I want 5x zoom over 4x, the Pixel 6 Pro just seems more consistent in quality.

    You can literally see that the pixels rely on it's software, you can notice it on the phones view finder it's quite different once clicked ( it does some magic processing). Xiomi for me has natural details maybe they should improve their image processing too.

    Same sensor if I'm not mistaken, but better software on the pixel.
    However I'm still keeping my mi11u for photography and the reason are the excellent manual modes for photo and video which I use more than the point and shoot, especially in low light conditions.

    • @francoasencioscarlos3570

      the xiaomi mi 11 ultra has the GN2, whereas the pixel 6 pro has the GN1

    • @GrantLikesTech
      @GrantLikesTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Fair enough, Google has been giving more options for tuning the photos with slides for white balance, shadows, exposure, but a full Pro mode would be nice for those who like full control. Also, the Mi 11U uses the larger Samsung GN2 sensor vs the GN1 on the Pixel.

    • @BruceWayne-ri4wr

      The pixel just flat takes better pictures. But I agree with you about the manual mode. That's why I used to keep LG flagships every year. I rode LG out till the end with the v60. I love those phones because the manual mode I could take pictures that people thought was done by professional photographer because I went in the manual mode and seized it up

    I have a question: which video were more true to life when you capture skies near cell tower? On Xiaomi you can see sky full of clouds and on Pixel sky is almost clear 🤔

    • @GrantLikesTech
      @GrantLikesTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Xiaomi was a bit more color accurate since it was a light blue sky. I've been saying that to me the Pixel is boosting colors in video too much. They were too muted in previous Pixels, so they need to find a happy medium to me.

      Pixel has that over-processed, over-sharpened look. If it wasn't for 11U's bad color processing, it produces better quality photos. I prefer the natural sharpening, it looks much more like a DSLR natural bokeh. 5:23 is one of the best examples of a software over-sharpened photo on Pixel vs 11U, you would agree that Pixel looks sharper, because of the contrasted sharpening, but it has less natural detail, and looks artificial, while 11U looks more pleasant.

    I noticed better pixels in portrait mode in detail, but still underlined subjects as usual. In night photos, it's clear that mi 11 ultra has better details, better light handling because pixels often burn strong highlights, and shadow areas are black and noise. mi 11 ultra video is smoother in low light.

    Is it me or was the Pixel 6 literally better in every single picture? I didn't see one picture that I would prefer the Xiaomi jeez. Anybody that buys that camera is going to be disappointed if they've had an iPhone or a pixel before that. Cuz that camera is highly disappointing. I kept hearing all these great things about it but now that I've watched it geez I would never buy that. My LG v60 takes better pictures than that

    👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
    In selfie photo as video the Pixel is better.
    In daytime photography the Pixel is better, at night it's a tie I would say.
    In daytime video the Xiaomi is clearly better, at night it is also better on the ultra wide angle but not on the main sensor.
    The problem with the Xiaomi is that it wants to try too hard to light up all the scenes (like 99% of Android smartphones in fact) and it ends up being overexposed.
    But it is clear that apart from the selfie sensor, the Xiaomi has much better sensors than the Pixel, but the software makes the difference.
    I imagine this Mi 11 Ultra with Gcam 🤩.

    • @GrantLikesTech
      @GrantLikesTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Xiaomi definitely has the slightly better camera hardware. That GN2 sensor clearly lets in a lot more light without the need for night mode, but as you mentioned, not everyone wants the images that bright.

    Google's software seems to be struggling this year. I wonder with the new sensor, did they even fine tune the processing algorithms for it, or simply copy and paste over. Hmm. Personally, I'd take a more accurate Xiaomi image and then boost the colors and contrasts a bit to suit my taste. It's easier than trying to "unprocess" an image or remove artifacting from the Pixel's camera.

    • @individual5021
      @individual5021 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good on you Mr Magoo. The Pixel 6 Pro images are significantly better than the Xiaomi images in pretty much every aspect, clarity, colour accuracy, sharpness, consistency etc. The Xiaomi has the edge on bokeh (sometimes) and wider angle camera. The Pixel 6 pro is definitely the benchmark system in 2022.

      Goes back and forth. Pixel boosts colors a bit in processing to get a more dynamic look with more contrast. The 11 Ultra leans towards more natural colors, but the auto white balance can throw the image off at times.
