Lets be honest, the bike is user friendly, has good brakes, comfort, tourque and in yellow color and gold rims looks good. The price is 12.000 euros and all the competition is at least 2.000 euros more and 1090 and Afrika dont bring more fun, yes Africa better of road, worse on road, and KTM display aint no better, the bike only has a bit more power. 950 Multistrada is hot under your legs.I did drive one and it is not nice in Summer.... I like the Suzuki, sure it could have 10 PS more but with an aftermarket exhaust the bike sounds great.
KTM display is way way better looking? I'm guessing you're meaning the old models which had a bad display. The new ones are so nice!
I found the Versys 1000 better over this one. Africa I haven't tried yet, it's an automatic though right?

That was the most dire use of throttle and gearing up on a strom I’ve ever seen no wonder you think it’s slow. You’re changing up just as your hitting the power band and losing everything.
I didn't think it was slow... did I say that in the video? I can't remember if I did.
I did think it was boring and not my taste. That's just my opinion.
The new breaking system it definitely a nice addition to the bike. My friend has one, which I tried and did find the bike to be quite tall. I do have to agree, that for a 1000cc bike, it’s not as quick as I expected. But overall a fantastic adventure bike.

This bike handles very well and cornering is great in tight alpine twisties! Power to accelerate from switchbacks uphill is just right. (of course a bike can always use more power)
I can understand though, why it seems boring and unimpressive on straight, flat boring roads. I think it is an excellent bike for people who like this style. Only thing I didn't like is the adjustable wind Visor.. No matter what position, it threw tornado wind around my head...
Thing is my friend, every bike that I test ride isn't on alpine twisties and even though my test rides are on "straight, flat boring roads" one still can experience the bike and get an opinion of it. I can ride a bike and after a few mins come to the conclusion that it's a good bike or not, in my opinion. And my personal opinion for this bike was that it wasn't fun or great and I wasnt impressed by it, at all.

I'm kinda into everything, 2 wheels and a motor..
But goldwings and those big harleys isn't really my type. I enjoy the 1000cc bikes the most. And the KTM 1290 which is awesome.
I'm thinking of getting like a 250 road legal dirtbike to play around with. Yamaha WR250 or Honda 250L.

This bike for me worked probally because it was the cheapest. The biggest thing i liked was the simplicity no frills if you need all the buttons to make you think you ride better go get em if you got no money and want a multipurpose easy peasy fun ride and will wind up being a better rider in the end then this is the bike. First thing chuck those tires and get a set of cheap shenko 70/30 tires and those will get you in some deeper crap. This bikes biggest draw back is the soft front end if its going to be an adventure bike then these companies need to do what ktm did and put the good suspension on the bike. Other than that i understand the boring ride only if your interstating if your running up a canyon honestly i have more fun on this then my ninja or triumph triple.

I have test ridden well over 100 different bikes and some rubs you some ways, and this one just rubbed me wrong. =)

Which setting was the traction control on? Right? That's not the bikes fault.
You mean that the traction control was the fault I didn't like the bike?
I looked at the V-Strom last year. I bought the Versys instead

I considered the VStrom 1000 when I bought my Tiger in 2015, but is wasn’t for me. I previously owned a Suzuki SV1000 which I loved, but they seemed to have taken the soul out of the 1000 vee twin engine.

@Mojo Not everyone has the same taste. This bike just didn't do it for me. =)
For any reason they sell this bike with those crappy tires. After changing the tires, the full potential comes to life.
