    Why don't they manufacture all mice to be silent like this? I'm genuinely curious who decided they needed to make a clicking noise in the first place.

      one word.....money
      the less production they have to do on one mouse the less they can charge, attracting more people to buy.

    • @mikul9204
      @mikul9204 3 ปีที่แล้ว +162

      @@juanpericchi9359 Thats not why. It's not like it costs extra money to make the mouse switch have a slightly shorter metal bit, it is purposefully designed this way. A nice click can be satisfying to many people, and it lets you know when you clicked the button fully and not just half way. I definitely think they should sell mouses that are quiet though, as an alternative to the normal ones.

    Best mouse modifying to make it quiet tutorial, just finished doing it and it works perfectly good. It's so quiet now I am thankful for this channel existing. Tips for those before doing this: At the Hammering to make it quiet part: Do not put too much force to the strike and do not make it to low, as it will be so light that it will click from very light force. Make sure to follow the steps closely in the video since I did mistakes but luckily I got to fix it. Also at the copper part, be careful when removing the switches as the copper sometimes removes, so follow what the video showed carefully just as I said to avoid it. I guess that's all since that's what I did, thank you and take care :)

    Worked perfectly!! I am studying in the library. The sound my mouse makes is disturbing to me, what to say about my friends sitting beside me.
    This solved my problem. my mouse is 80% quite than before.
    Push that metal at 1:15 to a great extent possible to get less sound.
    less the gap, less the sound of a click.

    For anyone watching this video for drag clicking purposes:
    So I tried doing this on a mouse to mabye make it more sensitive, since the texture and grip of my new mouse works fine for dragging. In summary, while is does make the click a lot more sensitive to clicks it won't solve the problem that some mice just won't register all the clicks (my problem). So it may or may not work for you

    I found the M220 Logitech silent mouse in store at Walmart for $20 and it is both quiet and the force is much less than my other mice. It also uses unifying receiver and can be used on both right and left hand. It is small (I'm okay with that, but most aren't) and maybe not fancy enough - no Flow or multiple buttons and scroll wheel doesn't move much.

      You may have tapped that little metal leg down too far, you'll have to get back in there and lift it back up a touch. Make sure you test it before you put it back together.

    If anyone is searching this late at night and dont have time for all this complicated stuff, I recommend you find a nearby blanket, small and thick is best, and put it on top of your mouse covering all sides.

    I have a less risky way, but its less effictive:
    The blue thing just spay some WB 40 (its a kind of librifiant, oil that don't interect with metal/electricity)
    It makes it quiter, but not as much as in the video, but at least you will not break your mouse
