Best mouse modifying to make it quiet tutorial, just finished doing it and it works perfectly good. It's so quiet now I am thankful for this channel existing. Tips for those before doing this: At the Hammering to make it quiet part: Do not put too much force to the strike and do not make it to low, as it will be so light that it will click from very light force. Make sure to follow the steps closely in the video since I did mistakes but luckily I got to fix it. Also at the copper part, be careful when removing the switches as the copper sometimes removes, so follow what the video showed carefully just as I said to avoid it. I guess that's all since that's what I did, thank you and take care :)
Worked perfectly!! I am studying in the library. The sound my mouse makes is disturbing to me, what to say about my friends sitting beside me. This solved my problem. my mouse is 80% quite than before. Push that metal at 1:15 to a great extent possible to get less sound. less the gap, less the sound of a click. Thanks for the Video mate!!!🤟 Also loved the simple and straight forward content along with the silence in the video.
Wow, thanks a ton- also found the video weirdly calming. Weird how easy this was to fix too, normally with tutorials like this there's some hidden 4th step but now i just did it to my mouse in like 5 minutes
For anyone watching this video for drag clicking purposes: So I tried doing this on a mouse to mabye make it more sensitive, since the texture and grip of my new mouse works fine for dragging. In summary, while is does make the click a lot more sensitive to clicks it won't solve the problem that some mice just won't register all the clicks (my problem). So it may or may not work for you
Thank you! I have a Dell mouse that was too loud - I liked the sound of the click - but not when everyone else could hear it. I took the spring off of my scroll wheel and now it makes no noise at all. Great video!
I found the M220 Logitech silent mouse in store at Walmart for $20 and it is both quiet and the force is much less than my other mice. It also uses unifying receiver and can be used on both right and left hand. It is small (I'm okay with that, but most aren't) and maybe not fancy enough - no Flow or multiple buttons and scroll wheel doesn't move much.
I've got a different problem with my g502 hero, the sniper button stopped working and making the click sound. I'm wondering if the blue thingy that's sticking out of the microswitch somehow got pushed into the microswitch and now I can only press on the button but it makes no sound, any suggestions?
Ive been looking at the comments thinking this was fake but when i saw how you did it an how nice you are to your loyal viewers made me feel bad about how i judged you so i tried it and it worked!,thank you so much and i hope you can forgive the way i misjudged you 👌
i did this, it works surpisingly well, if the foil springy thing pops out you can put it back in no problem its just the need to put it backwards thats a bit tricky, also the mouse is much much lighter to activate now, so it wouldnt be for everyone, resting your fingers on the mouse alone is not possible if you do it like me cause it will activate it
It works! Like others say be careful to not get the copper piece off otherwise you might have some problems getting it back on. But if you do no worries, just play around and think about it. The saving grace is that there is a little notch towards the wire side of the mouse that keeps it in place.
I accidentally broke mine for the right click but luckily had a spare mouse lying around and managed to take the copper thing from it, now my mouse is really quiet now but it's too sensitive and I can't tell when I'm clicking it
Nice I had no need to hammer down, I actually went with a tiny piece of soft thin foam adhesive on the copper plate under the metal part you bent, cut it the same size as the edge👍 took a few attempts to get it right but it's literally perfect 🙌
Pros: it worked, thanks. Cons: one button is slightly louder than another (it's was hard to control, really) and it requires almost no pressure to press the button (may be also a pro but don't get carried away: the quieter the button, the less pressure it requires).
If you want you could just replace the stock mouse switch with a different one like a silent Kailh or anything else you prefer. Then you won't have the issue of reduced actuation force or an uneven sound profile. Plus mouse switches are pretty inexpensive to buy😄
I tried this and aced the left clicker, but broke the right clicker. (the copper plate fell off) edit: i fixed it by adjusting that small bended part so it springs back to regular position. so it works just need to be careful. thanks! edit 2: i tried hammering down the small metal peg, it broke the copper plate again. edit 3: I got the copper plate back on, made it much quieter. it was a huge pain to get the small knobs into the tiny hole of the black box but i managed. I put the case back on, batteries connected, and it works. thanks!
I also want it for minecraft. The amount of clicking hurt my index finger. Does this also lower the required force to activate the left mouse button apart from making it more silent?
My old mouse is on the way out, but it's very quiet. I'm tempted to do this to my new one because that thing is super loud, but don't want to ruin a new mouse.
