Since the buttons will travel a smaller distance after adjusting the inside, your mouse will also click way easier. In other words it can become too sensitive to pressure and even an ant walking on it will trigger the click (exaggerating a bit but you get the point). In my case it was a bit uncomfortable to click.
accidently bent the L-bracket too far down and to the side, but i managed to get it back into the right position using the tweezers. my mouse works and sounds perfect now. thanks for the video.
does it still work 100 percent for every click, i want to modify mine for gaming bc my mouse is loud and when im playing games you can hear it across the house
Yeah, my advice is don't modify the height too low otherwise you won't feel the tactile response of the click. Even just lowering it a 1/3 to 1/2 of the original height will be vastly better in its noise level.
Hey yeah, you see the PCB that's sat on the top of the mouse here at 2:45? Just take that off and modify the microswitches on there the exact same way.
I strongly recommend not hammering it and instead using pliers or pincers to bend it. Repairing a broken metal piece is not always easy. Can you try using rubber or similar materials to mute the noisy parts?
did all of this and ended up having no click and being 100 bucks shorter for a new mx anywhere. bummer. the brackets and the top button casing is such a painn
Dang $100 on a mouse? Why don’t you open up the gap on the switches more? You only need the gap to be like 1/3rd to 1/2th down from the original height to hear a difference, don’t hammer them all the way down.
I hope you didn't throw out your mouse. Raise up the 'hook' a little more, and you'll be fine. Also, I don't recommend removing the brass thingy at all. It's a royal pain in the a** to put back in.
@@SSIcely I buy very cheap mice because I smoke a lot of cigarettes and the ashes get into the mouse while I'm gaming. After thoroughly cleaning them out, eventually I just buy new, cheap ones. Anyway, I FINALLY figured out what to do when the brass 'spring' thingy jumps out. I took a flat rubber band (not the rounded ones), and cut a strip that could lay beneath the brass thingy while I adjusted it to catch on to the hooks. It gives it some stability so that it doesn't keep moving around while adjusting. Then I removed it by pulling it out afterwards. I finally came up with the perfect solution. It's no longer a pain in the a**. I discovered the solution while repairing some old mice of mine the other day. :-) EDIT: On another helpful hint- I buy wired mice because they are much lighter than ones that require a battery. My mice are way faster and much easier on the hand.
There seems to be a problem, well i dont know if its even a problem actually. The mouse is easily clicked or pressed down when I rest my fingers on the mouse
Tips: Get a spare mouse to try this mod first. If you find out you have destroy the spare mouse switch, you better buy a silent mouse switch and do some soldering, or just find a silent mouse.... PS: I have destroyed my spare mouse switch.
No, technically the travel is less for the microswitch and therefore less of a delay from when you use your finger to press the button to the switch engaging with the circuit compared to generic switches.
POV:You came here so you could play at night.
frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yeah right 😂😂
Dude bought one more mouse for showing how to make it quiet. Kudos

Glad you managed to do it!

Omg thank you I was annoyed from the clicking sound now it's quieter than before.
this is exactly what I been looking for TY!!! I just ordered the Asus ROG Spatha X so I'm gonna mod those switches soon as it gets here.

i raged at the spring part, so i basically destroyed my $40 mouse in anger. thanks though
this was awfully helpful thanks!!!

could this mod cause the mouse to do unintentional double clicking?
Yes it's possible if the gap is too small it will mean that only a light touch will cause it to click - so be careful when adjusting the micro switch.
