@@ekoboyz757 Yes and no. Sure, Purdy had a lot of great targets and also good defenses. He also had one of the poorer pass protection O-lines, ranked #22-24 depending on who's ranking. And it's not like those other QB's didn't have star targets. The fact remains that those other QB's got paid premium contracts for achieving less.
One of the interesting things is that we know those guy's ceilings. We still haven't seen Purdy's ceiling yet. Once they beef up the O-line after the draft, ...with just a little better pass pro... Well, it should be a fun season!
If Brock has another season as good as 2023 (which I think he will) he gets a big bag. If your QB is leading the league in most passing categories and you make another deep playoff run, I don't see how you can avoid it. It's not like the 49ers would have a top pick in 2025 and the last time they traded a bunch of draft capital for a QB it blew up in their face.
I think he will be better. He will actually have a full off-season that won't include rehabbing his elbow.

Purdy is an outstanding QB
He was 3rd overall rated MVP in the NFL last year. He played like an MVP level last year and took led the 49ers to Super Bowl vs the Cheifs. They lost lost the game.
Mark my words, he will lead the 49ers to multiple Super Bowl championships during the course of his career.
When this happens he'll he the 3rd best QB in 49ers historiy . To be in the same breath as Joe Montana and Steve Young is an amazing feat he'll have accomplished.

I love quarterbacks who can truly throw. Rodgers, Marino, Phillips. They’re so fun to watch. But if I were an NFL coach and I had to have a quarterback today, Brock Purdy would be pretty high on my Wish List. There are guys who can throw better - Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, Lawrence - but few have the combination of intangibles that Brock has. Accurate, throws on time, fairly mobile, very smart. And that last one is what sets Purdy apart - his brain.

I think it’s all in or bust for the 49ers this year cos they can’t keep Trent with his age, Kittle also aging for his position, Purdy on a low salary and the rest of those skill players on big contracts.

Purdy will pull a Tom Brady and take a less than market rate to make sure he has a great team around him. He knows he's not all that out of the system they have there.
He lives in San Fran…he most expensive city in the country of the US… with Taxes of California… no way in hell and Brady, only took pay cuts bc his wife was out earning him for nearly a decade. At one year, she was making $175M roughly in one year.

Doesn't matter if he's average or not. QB salary isn't based on who's the best, it's based on next man up. The next guy to get paid gets more than the previous guy. It's a stupid system and the reason no team with a mediocre QB will ever win.
Purdy has proven his worth, it’s the coaching that’s failed…so, if Purdy has a wise negotiating team aka agent, he’d be very wise to set the high number now, instead of playing footsies because teams would very seriously drop all negotiations in paying that certain set number, in taking him as numero uno starting quarterback.

York speaks the truth. The 49ers will pay him $45 million contract per season for four years. Purdy was 3rd in MVP voting last year. The 49ers have a QB that will lead the 49ers to multiple Super Bowl victories throughout his NFL career.

You hope to only pay a player that level of cap per. who can elevate more avg play and a thinner roster that will come with that new pay structure. Much worse than the Dak situation, Brock is quite good in this structure but many other mid tier qbs would be at least close with this roster and coaching.
As a non fan of you guys, I think Purdy definitely deserves all the cash. He's a good, hard working dude, and he leads a scary team✌

Purdy was top 5 in most QB stats last year and in 2 years has the same number of playoff wins as Dak Prescott and Lamar Jackson combined. Weird to see Stafford on your list since he literally won the Super Bowl a couple years back.

I think if the realist 49ers fans really searched their hearts on this one, they would feel incredibly nervous about Purdy with a cast that a big, starting QB contract can afford. Will they still be a good team? Likely. Shanahan's one of the best coaches and they can develop talent...BUT, I think the Purdy honeymoon will die out real quick.

Kyle needs to let Purdy off the leash and let him scramble and play off schedule. He coulda won the SB if Kyle had done that. Purdy played BETTER than Patrick and CAN play as well as Patrick, as crazy as that sounds. Why? He's got a more accurate arm, is a better/faster runner (you'll see it this year) and has the Winner Sense that Patrick has. Purdy also will prolly sign a team friendly deal this go round. But it's up to Kyle to let him get OUT of the system.

Yep, the 49ers window is closing QUICK! Once Purdy gets the FU money, their team doesn't work anymore. Not with big $$$ LT, RB, WRx2, TE, and Edge! I knew they shouldn't have paid Bosa that much. He took a MAJOR step back this year, even with his highly paid edge buddy (at least they let him go). Bosa money should be reserved for players that win/dominate the game ON THEIR OWN, and not for injury risk guys who need help to relieve the double teams.

I highly doubt that. Purdy sees the field better than most QBs in the league, and Shanahan's scheme is tailor-made for Brock. All he needs is a good O-line, Shanahan and Lynch always invest in their defense, so from that standpoint, I think they'll be solid. Offense wise, though, Brock just needs recievers who are competent enough to be in their spot at the right time because Purdy throws with elite anticipation and timing. I think Brock will only get the respect he deserves once he loses the star powers around him and has to elevate a new team around him, and that's only possible once they pay him.

The 49ers can properly set the table to sign Purdy to a large and lengthy contract by taking advantage of what is in the 2024 draft by trading both Aiyuk and Samuels for first round picks. They can parlay each of those picks into two second round picks each, giving the 49ers five second round picks to pick up two quality WR's and use their first round pick and remaining three second round picks to address their offensive line, edge, secondary and DT. Then with their remaining 7 picks they can add depth. When everything is said and done, the 49ers would be stronger and have tons of money left over to sign Purdy.

Purdy plays the system at such a high level that few can match it. He is one of the best anticipatory passers in the league. He also plays outside the system. He can run and he can get out of tackles. He's not John Elway with a rocket arm, but he has great touch and accuracy and has the ability to run. o
