Also, in 2000 Mosler Motors developed a one-off 16-cylinder AWD Cadillac "TwinStar" based on an Eldorado with TWO V8 engines, leaving the factory V8 powering the front wheels and adding another Northstar V8 into the trunk powering the rear wheels. The two transmissions were calibrated to shift at alternating points so the power delivery would be continuous throughout acceleration, it would just momentarily alternate between FWD, AWD & RWD.

Not off the line, but i bet it would be from a roll. I had an evo magazine years ago which said the speed 12 had about 917bhp per ton. That's almost twice that of a veyron.
I couldn't pinpoint the exact power since there were many different numbers floating around the web. One says 800hp, and the same is true with the one-off post production. That one is detuned. From topspeed.com: Peter Wheeler (CEO of TVR) once declared that TVR had tried to record the car’s power on an engine dyno. The dyno was rated at 1000 bhp but the test resulted in the dyno’s input shaft being broken. To get an approximate figure TVR engineers tested the engine again but they tested each bank individually; the result was 480 bhp per bank. This would suggest a rating of 960 bhp in total. Although this didn’t provide an exact figure, it was far closer than the original estimates were. The real figure is still unknown.

There exists at least one road going TVR Speed 12 in UK and just a year or so ago TVR Power (Powers Performance) had a genuine ex factory Speed 12 engine for sale.

2021 we have a mid engine corvette , thank god
Ford GT90
For ken!
Nice vid! I can add some of my own favourites (along with the already mentioned GT90): BMW Nazca C2, Alfa Romeo (Italdesign) Scighera, Lamborghini (Italdesign) Cala.
The First supercar of Mercedes was the CLK GTR
Maybe no because it began as a CLK which is just a coupe or it's actually their first hypercar. Why did Mercedes discontinue cars with K as the third letter? I wonder.
That's more a legendary one off hypercar
@@lollyofelly9510 the CLK is the e class Coupe and the CLK GTR is the GT1 race version of the CLK

Pontiac GTO concept car from the 2000's. It eventually became the platform for the new dodge charger.
6:34 the ME-412 would run laps around the SLR. So would every Pagani Zonda ever made, but Mercedes had no problems with that?
They made the BMW M8 in 2020
And the mid engine Vette. So much for relevancy of my video 😬
Yeah the Cadillac was one-of-a-kind seems like for big millionaire I'm glad it was not on the road if I wouldn't do good in production long

the tvr looks like a viper with an allergic reaction
I wish I came up with that joke 😂
The Chrysler ME412: anyone else getting Midnight Club 3 flashbacks? Man, that thing should have been built!
Special consideration: Caddilac Cien (also in Midnight Club)
I missed the BMW 7-serie V16 engine. That car with the air intakes is just stunning!
0:35 chuckles nervously in WW2
4:30 Thing is though, that you don't need to have a Mercedes, to have a Mercedes mid engine supercar. In the 90's we had a brand called Isdera, that made supercars with Mercedes technology and engines.
The 108i Imperator was based off on C112
2:07 now they're planning to use the rotary as part of a hybrid economy car. I hope the old CEO comes back
🤣🤣
There exists at least one road going TVR Speed 12 in UK and just a year or so ago TVR Power (Powers Performance) had a genuine ex factory Speed 12 engine for sale.
Nice picks. I was wondering if the Cadillac Ciel would have made your list, but it didn't, so that would be my addition for a concept car that sadly didn't make it to production
