"The Vikings Are Told of Ragnar's Death" by Trevor Morris | Extended Version (audio only)

- When I first heard this theme composed by Trevor Morris for Vikings, I knew I not only wanted to do a mock-up of it, but I also wanted to create an extended orchestration of this theme, which is called "The Vikings Are Told of Ragnar's Death" and was used in Vikings Season 3 Episode 10.
The first few minutes of this track are my recreation of Trevor Morris' original cue. Then I transition into my own extended orchestration. I'll possibly do a video showing how I created this track, but for now I thought it would be fun to assemble some scenes from the Vikings to go with this music.
To create this track, I've made extensive use of Orchestral Tools' Metropolis Ark II, supplemented with Berlin Brass, 8Dio's Adagietto Strings and Spitfire Audio's Albion V Tundra. The choirs in Ark II are absolutely gorgeous and really shine in this track. Another standout patch was the Berlin Brass trumpet vibrato, which really shines at the end of the orchestration. - เพลง

My mother died 3 months ago. She never met her parents and she didn't knew her origin roots thats why i decide to do a Dna test to see my blood origin from her side. She had 100% scandinavian roots. Now i hear this song with proud and dedicate to her..

@@joetheblu3 my 1st watch I didn’t know anything about Vikings history. I thought it was fantasy cause I watched game of thrones and someone told me if I liked that I would like this. So the story of Ragnar and his sons and basically Viking lore was all knew to me

@@joetheblu3 in real life his son Ivan the boneless does at around 22 and he didn’t do half the things portrayed in this, as half the things shown in this show happened when he was an adult, BUT HE DIED AT 22 so the things that happened for the most part didn’t even happen till after he was dead, he did lead an army but it wasn’t as grand as people think(even with his victory’s)

Not ashamed to admit that this piece of music brings a tear to my eye. Vikings is one of best tv shows ever created. Ragnar is absolute legend and total badass. Drinking ale with the Gods in Valhalla right about now. Skol! 🍻

In my opinion, still to this day, this is the most exceptionally brilliant performance by an actor. To draw sooo many into feeling the raw emotion and connection to the character of "King Ragnar" is simply superb. It was a performance that made Travis my personal all-time favorite actor. In my opinion, making King Ragnar the greatest character to ever grace the small screen.
I must tell the story, I emailed Trevor about this music as it was featured in Season when Lagertha left him. It's the same music in that scene . I wanted to know the title he said he would get back to me because it would spoil season ahead. Sure enough he remember and emailed me after the episode aired. I am forever grateful . The music is amazing and brings such emotion
This is a beautiful song in its own right but your work here is incredible. It is exceptional and adds so much more to the legend of Ragnar.

These last episodes with Ragnar were some of the best in the whole series
this theme and this character are so iconic. ragnar is a fictional character but he insipired me in so many ways.
He's actually not fictional. He was a real person, look up his history.
The story is true, names are real and the events in the programme happened as historical fact. However there is a certain element of poetic creativity in the series.

@anthonycampos8057 the way I see it, breaking bad is the best written show ever and is definitely in the top 2 but for me vikings evoked something in me, I felt a complete attachment to every part of it that whilst it didn't outperform breaking bads story it made me feel something I cant quite explain so for me at least its number 1

I saw a comment earlier. It talked somewhat about how real vikings and their decendants are not like the ones that we see in the show. That makes me curious, as someone captivated by the somewhat warped dipiction of vikings and their scandinavian cultures: What were they really like? Are they really anything like the dipictions we so often see in pop culture? Its quite sad really that their legacies were tarnish over the years to something warped to where we arent all that exsposes to anything past the hollywood depictions. I'd like to learn more if anyone would be willing.
