The Vikings that are part of the Irish heritage, I salute you as an Irishman who has seen Wood Quay in Dublin. but like all the others recorded in The Book of Invasions, you lost at the Battle of Clontarf, but not before you slew the High King Brian Boru. Your artifacts and engineering remain. Ireland would not be the same without you. You are part of us. What a sight the Vikings meeting equally fierce and unafraid of death, as our Celtic warriors were must have been. As human beings we must ask ourselves what we fight for. Lovely music.

And my spirit is immortal.

I’m Norse descent, but a lot of Irish. I have a tendency to look at the roots which are the ancient Norse, as without the Norse ancestors I have, I wouldn’t have any Irish in me. But I do consider myself mostly Norse. And this music really gets me in that Norse mood
Damn, my old warrior soul knows this song all too well. I absolutely know I shared the table with my brothers in the longhall in the days of old.
Reading comments while listening a second time. On all of us, a profound effect including ...a conviction, we will never give up...
Do we need a 19 minute version of Helvegen? Why yes, yes we do....
I need it in a loop of 8hr lol
My nordic blood is coursing thru me and my heart swells 10x when i listen to this.
I have Celtic Viking ansestry corsing in my blood and when I hear this I can't help but softly cry to a pain I feel deep in my heart and soul.
Our souls are primal, eternal and one. All of our souls, that is how and why we recognize this music.
Peace

I am in the autumn of my life-experienced everything, everything survives. And this music brings me back into my midst.
Amazing, it's like a flower, most people don't know it exists but still the fragrance is there, dont matter if someone is there to appreciate or not.
Lyrics :)
Who shall sing me
into the death-sleep sling me
When I walk on the Path of Death
and the tracks I tread are cold, so cold
I sought the songs
I sent the songs
when the deepest well
gave me the drops so touched
of Death-fathers wager
I know it all, Odin
where you hid your eye
Who shall sing me
into the death-sleep sling me
When I walk on the Path of Death
and the tracks I tread are cold, so cold
early in the days end
still the raven knows if I fall
When you stand by the Gate of Death
And you have to tear free
I shall follow you
across the Resounding Bridge with my song
You will be free from the bonds that bind you!
You are free from the bonds that bound you!
Cattle die, kinsmen die
You yourself will also die
but the word about you will never die
if you win a good reputation
Cattle die, kinsmen die
You yourself will also die
I know one that never dies
the reputation of those who died
I'm so happy this version exists! It's extended but doesn't feel repetitive or too long, it's just epic. Thank you for making and sharing it

I sought the songs
I sent the songs
when the deepest well
gave me the drops so touched

i don't understand lyrics but music is amazing. This is like sound of Valhalla where Ragnar and his sons are drinking beer and talking their clash.
you problably don't know the lyrics but ! you know what you do in Valhalla ahah
here the translation:
Who will sing me
Into the death-sleep sling me
When I walk the road to Hel
And the tracks I tread
Are cold, so cold
I sought the songs
I sent the songs
When the deepest well
Offered drops so mighty
Of Valfather’s pledge
I know it all, Odin
Where you hid your eye
Early or in fading day
Still the raven knows if I fall
When you stand by the gate of Hel
And when you must tear loose
Follow you I shall
Across the bridge of Gjöll
With my song
You will be free from the bonds that bind you
You are free from the bonds that bound you
I've been there time after time, thank God He rescued me so I can testify.
May God Bless you&Keep you all.

One of the most powerful songs on earth!!!! I love Wardruna!!!!
you can't be from this planet to produce such nice music ❤❤❤💕
I can listen to this all day and all night. Also when I am out climbing mountains...
Miedo a la muerte?? Jamás!!
Miedo a no ser conocido por tus grandes hazañas, miedo a no haber intentado e ido tras tus objetivos, miedo a no tener la iniciativa de hacer las cosas, eso sí da miedo!!!
Helvegen has such a deep meaning to understanding the importance to make due with the time we are given on this earth, and the value/impact of your deeds when you are gone.: "Cattle die, kinsmen die; the self must also die. I know one thing which never dies: the reputation of each dead man".
All I know that this song brings relief of the fear of the unknown when I am gone and brings me peace knowing that if I live a life of honor and purpose, that I will be remembered in the end.
