MK's timeless instrumental "Going Home" brings me back to the Summer of 1983. After spending a long weekend in England with a friend of mine (guitar teacher) we took the ferry way back home: Harwich to Hoek van Holland (NL). This guy is one of the music geniuses of my lifetime, I'm 63, and I have seen some of the best from the 70s 80s 90s 00s, not so much lately as I'm feeling my age and don't get out much. Agree, DS used to end their shows with this from the early 80s onwards with the road crew taking the microphones down during the song ! Going Home always turns me emotional everytime I hear it. I don't know what will happen to me watching Mark playing it live.
Being Scottish this brings a tear.
Mark Knopfler spent some of his early years in Glasgow. I saw him in conversation with the Scottish musician, Phil Cunningham, Mark’s Scottish accent became stronger as the conversation went on!
Being anyone brings a tear.

Great Mark!!
Hopefully there will be another album soon, and possibly a UK tour. Think he has finished touring Europe though sadly.
