Im a big fan of a unique dial that is also easy to read. (I got a M.A.D.1 Red, I like a chunky watch). You may be the 1st review for this watch. Bravo. Thanks for the review. This dial is SO my style
Gotta hand it to them for continuing to come up with unique designs. I think this is as close as you can get to the HUD theme without adding a digital/light component.
Well, this has rocketed straight to the top of my wants list. Being an aviation enthusiast; this hits a lot of spots. The stock strap is way too busy though - on a plain black one this will look killer. :) Thanks for the review.
Awesome watch and great review. My biggest problem with avi-8 is that ALL of their watches are WAY too big!! This watch would be much better at 42mm instead of 44! I'm also a 40-42mm guy with small(er) 6.75" wrists.
Still relatively few comments, but it seems like folks are liking this design. We’re always asking watch designers to come up with something different, and I was expecting the typical watch nerd reaction: Not that different! I think it’s a cool concept, but disappointed that the lume on the HUD elements doesn’t last longer. And while the 44mm diameter is doable, that thickness is crazy! It’s surprising how well it fits on your wrist. I guess that’s why we’re here for your reviews.
I was looking at the Malm Viggen, which is another compressor style watch with an aviation theme going on. But I'm really digging this, it is priced very fairly. Unfortunately as a skinny guy, this will look massive on my wrist, particularly as there is no outer bezel to speak of to reduce the visual impact of 44mm. The Malm will be much more wearable at 40mm.
As a Marine that worked around Harriers for a few years I love this watch. The jet is a literal modern marvel. The watch and the whole Harrier line from AVI8 does a great job of embodying the spirit of the jet.
I don't like all aviate watches but this one's pretty sharp , picked up an older AV8 Hawker Harrier II , at a local Goodwill store for $4.99 ... brand new Leather band , Black face and white numbers Second hand at the bottom lol No Date Wheel , Model # 4002- 02
Well... thank You for Your review. I actually considered them and planned using the bezel to set the GMT time. Now I see it is useless. You saved me from losing money.
Looks gimmicky but in a good way..and it doesn't even rely on an external bezel to up its appeal but is brave enough to use a compressor style instead. Gets my vote.
Hi, i bought one and was questioning why m'y HUD wasn't luminous in the dark even in the begining is it a malfunction or is there something to do for that ? Thanks for the answer.
I think I would definitely consider it if it was smaller (and at this price, it should be a sapphire) In fact I would consider a lot of their watches if they were smaller. Thanks!
GREAT concept, cool HUD view but, a huuuuge watch and it’s sad. 44x15 is a chunk and they did nothing on the case sides to hide it. 42x13 would be a lot better. Also who needs an inner rotating bezel? It’s always clumsy and unnecessary complication.
@@nonexistant2k3 it definitely is easier...watches in general are hard to photograph because of the reflections....but legibility is not it's Strong suit for sure

@@ClevaTreva glad you found the review helpful. Enjoy it if you end up getting it!
A unique design that will definitely standout. Definitely, made for a very niche crowd.
Point of difference from the norm. I like it Steve! Just got my AV-8 email about this model while watching your vid mate.👍🏼😎
@@andrewd7586 perfect timing! I know it's not for everyone, but glad this exists for someone like you 👍

That's good to know. I was looking at their watches but I think they'd look silly on my wrists.

What 12yr old school boy wouldn't want one of those - lol.
It's not my style of watch but thanks for the review.
I love the design of this watch but a bit too chunky as mentioned in the video

Yoooooo, I've never considered an Avi-8 until just now. These remind me of the Zodiac laser tag watches. Very very cool.
@@TheCaptain008 dang, that zodiac is sweet, too. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

AVI 8 makes some really interesting "military" style watches.

@@Bob-ix5sh I'm not sure. I use a UV torch to charge the watches before the lume shot.
@@EscapeWheel okay, thank you for your answer, i'll try then.

Definitely unique. It reminds mee of Top Gun on NES.
Is the HUD display above or below the glass?
@@projectearth6475 it's printed on the inside/bottom of the glass

Very expensive to have just mineral crystal. I have one AV-8 watch and enjoy it.
A nice watch to own... Would have got it if not for its poor luminosity performance. A pity
It was hard to read in the video so I can't imagine it's easier in person.

Not my vibe, however that thing is cool.
This is silly.
Just too gimmicky, I have 3 of their sister brand, Spinnaker, but Avi-8 is just too 'fashion watch' for me.
Too much money!
