    Hello,
    I think it's not as easy as you show, I pair my phone with gopro and open the gopro (quick) app and enable preview, then I select the stream and make the stream settings and choosed wifi from the network settings, then when I want to start streaming, I am constantly faced with "something went wrong". pop up
    Because we can't use wifi for two devices, I can't connect to both internet and gopro at the same time.
    how can i solve this problem?
    thanks

So, I book concerts(underground diy stuff, hardcore and metal), and when Rona ends and I can get back to work I want to live stream shows to twitch I have a camera to set up stage side, but I also wanted a mosh cam, which would be the hero9 strapped to my chest. What would the best way to do this be? I'm thinking I should take a powerful laptop to the venue with me, run the two cameras as seperate scenes in OBS and have someone who chills at the laptop and watches the camera feeds and switches between the two scenes. Would this be doable with this camera and the set up I just described? Can the go pro be used as an obs camera wirelessly in any capacity? Thank you for the info and helping small people grow bud.

    • @Wild4
      @Wild4  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard to answer without doing a lot of testing - What you wrote can work. However, you make experience a lot or wireless connection issues with the GP going to OBS over longer distances. There are ways to do what you want, but they cost a lot more money.
      I would start with the GP and see what the limits are for range, connection and video quality. Then you can kind of build on that.
      Good luck buddy

    • @RolandRides
      @RolandRides 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Short answer: Because the GoPro sucks when live-streaming. It's unreliable as hell, has issues with 5GHz Wifi and doesn't properly reconnect on congestion/connection dropping. Almost everyone using GoPro for live-streaming is using an external device connected via HDMI (=MediaMod) and external encoding/streaming solutions.

      @@MrLeeSensei No it doesn't. GoPro does not provide a standard usb video device interface. If you're on Windows or Mac, additional GoPro software sort of provide the functionality but you can't connect to other devices/operating systems. There are some reverse-engineering hacks as the GoPro provides access by IP (using Wifi ad-hoc) but it's unreliable and suffers the poor FLV/rtmp encoding of the GoPro hardware.

I'd hate to find that nothing shows up when people follow/sub etc (if they do haha) and that logging in with the GP9 and Quik wiped all alert/media layers I set up. The best way to find out might be to do a test stream. Ask a friend or family member to follow you after you go live with a test stream and check to see what happens. I hope this helps!

      You can do a hot swap if you plug a power bank in change the battery then remove power bank.

      Still broken with Hero 9 in some cases. Also the GoPro mobile app does not set any stream attributes. You'll have to launch the official Twitch app, rename the stream etc. - It's broken for years now.

    great tutorial! is it possible with the GoPro Hero 4 ?

    • @bwash333
      @bwash333 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very possible to stream with a Hero 4 although the GoPro app is not built for this model of camera. I'm currently streaming with a GoPro Hero 4 to twitch. It requires a 4k capture card (a basic model from amazon will do just fine), a mini HDMI to HDMI cord and a constant power source for the GoPro. When using the OBS app you'll have to zoom the camera in a bit to work around the digital words on corners of the screen. I shoot outdoors in low light and it still works pretty well. I'm looking to upgrade to the Hero 9 for resolution but for now its pretty cool! Here is a link to my stream to see an example of the quality. Good Luck! www.twitch.tv/videos/774932968

    Hello Wild, I wanted to ask if there is a way to delete your twitch account. I've seen many videos, and there all show how to disable an account. Also is there a way to check your DOB, as in the future I plan on streaming, and I'm not sure if I put my correct DOB year.

      It's broken in the iOS app. You'll have to use the twitch app and rename the running stream. It's broken for years now and GoPro simply doesn't care.
