Hello Dani, can you answer this question? do I have to have my phone on me to live stream from the gopro ? if yes why dont I just use my phone to stream from instead of taking two devices?
Thanks for the awesome tutorial! This worked perfectly with the GoPro Hero 10. It works with no issues and looks awesome. Now I can stream all of my son's basketball games without having to use my phone to live stream it! Thanks!
I subscribed! I need as much info I can learn for my new blogging adventure with my gopro hero 9 I'm buying today. My plan in the next year is to start blogging my adventures here in our beautiful state of Maine. I'm very new to this, so I'm searching to learn as much as possible. Thank you for your help. Take care keep teaching us.
OK, so, if I want like break screenss, or to mute the mic/stream or maybe mute the mic and play music until unmuted. I would have to live stream to an unlisted twitch, then just run OBS on a laptop with me, and show my viewers the open unlisted twitch as a source in my OBS? In that case as an example I can go live from my laptop, have my intro screen source going, then go to the source with the unlisted live stream running which would by my gopro feed, then I do my show, and in the middle of a show if i need a break screen cover or to mute the mic/gopro audio I can do that through the OBS? also, at the end, I can do an ending screen source as well. I think this makes since to me. I'm just clarifying.
This would mean I would have 2 live streams running off my network, which would cause higher bandwidth and data usage. I wish I could wirelessly connect my gopro to an OBS. Wired doesnt work for my cuase since I need to plug in external battery for extended camera life while live for many hours.
Hello ! I'm going to buy it to use it for cheap IRL streaming via a hotspot with a SIM card and a camera connected to a USB powerbank. Does the camera overheat while streaming? Can I power the camera while streaming with a USB powerbank? Can the camera stream while connected to a hotspot with a SIM card? Can a jack microphone be connected to the camera? Thank you in advance for your help!
Gday mate I was just wondering when you’re setting it up to go live stream from your GoPro whereabouts do I find those settings? Are those settings on my iPhone when I go for the live TH-cam app or do I have to be on a physical computer and if so, how do I live stream outdoors? I was just wondering mate I need a really really dumb down one otherwise it’s still doesn’t make sense to me mate how do I find the settings and what device are you using the settings on. awesome, thank you.. Question, I was told the venue I want to live stream from has really bad reception and the wifi router is in a closet in the back and is very weak. We did FB live from there and it was total glitchy garbage, horrible. I was told to connect a lap top to the router with an ethernet cable and then connect the Go Pro (hero 8 black) to my lap or phone (can't even remember which) is that possible, and if so, how ? the GOPRO app is now called GOPRO QUICK, correct? can you stream to a private facebook group (being a member of that private group of course) with the 9?
Wondering is it possible to do the same out side the house using the roaming data on phone as wifi to my gopro and live stream my fitness, reason why go pro and not phone is cos phones steady cam is'nt near as good as go pro yet?

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Quick question: what quality works consistently on LTE? Should I go with 480p, just to be safe, or will the stream auto-adjust it’s quality when the network is poor? Planning on using this to irl stream, thanks again for the awesome vid!
If i wanted to live stream from a race car on an oval track, does my phone need to be in the car with the camera if both are connected with the tracks wifi? Or can I have the phone on me in the pits while the car is out on the track? Go Pro 9 and would plan to stream to facebook, hope you see this and can give me some insight, the customer service at go pro seemed confused on my questions
Great video!!! Wanted to ask about the second trick? To potentially add overlays for a twitch stream you’re saying stream to another platform unlisted then bring in that stream to your computer and broadcast that?
yea so this isn't an ideal way to do it because it requires more set up.. but you could stream it a platform (maybe a unlisted stream) and then have your computer with a program like OBS or StreamYard and you can just use your screen capture of the "unlisted" stream as a video layer. and then add other layers on it. This could require someone back at the computer doing all of the over lays. does that make sense?
Hi an avid fan here from Philippines. Your videos helped me a lot. I’m a new user of GoPro. Sorry but this is a bit out of the topic. I just want to ask if you could help me. I’m exploring to do an Acoustic Livestreaming Session(Facebook Live) using my GoPro Hero10, GoPro Mic Adapter and an Audio Interface( connected to MacBook). It works very well, the audio was very clear but too dry. My question is, how can i put an effects to my audio?for example a reverb. Digital Effects Plug ins? Or GarageBand? Can i use those? But my problem is I don’t know how to set up. Sorry for the trouble.
I appreciate this is now 2 years old but looking in vain to find a solution to this problem: GPH9 strapped to a motorcycle helmet, trying to work out how to hotspot from my iphone and livestream whilst out riding on my bike (both motorcycle and MTB). Any thoughts?
Can you please tell me how you wirelessly livestream outside? I am trying to figureout this. I want to use my gopro9 as webcam and livestream wirelessly. Is this possible? If possible how? I am about to lose my mind. Help 🙁
Hi thanks for the comment it is a very tedious to be able to do this and it might take you a few goes but persevere and rewatch the video because that’s the best way to do it. It just takes a bit to get used to. I hope that it’s helped thanks Danny
@@MrBlackReviews Thanks for your quick response. I am still debating purchasing a GoPro9 this month and will have an Iphone 7 fRed for now. Next year I upgrade to either an Ipad 11 or Ipad 12 Pro.
Could you help on how to live stream for a zoom class. Also would you recommend connect the mic to the go pro or the laptop to reduce latency... Awaiting your recommendation
I just flew over all those 300 comments and I recognized that nobody was wondering about the limited bitrate. To be honest... stationary 2500kbs at 720p is quite ok but moving especially in ecoding intense surroundings (woods, grass, ...) the stream quality is horrible. I remember that short after the launch of the hero9 it was 4000kbs but after the 2nd or 3rd update they lowered it to 2500 max. So is there any way or workaround to change the upstream bitrate? (even the 5000kbs at 1080p is definitely too low in comparison)
What about if you on the road and you want to go live with go pro on FB? I don’t that’s possible right?!! Only you can do that when you’re at home connected to your home Wifi
I'm looking to stream from 4G , so i guess 480p is the lowest I can go? On top of that, what happens during connection disruptions anyway for me to setup a long time-out like 5 minutes? What about steaming software that i can manage from my android phone, streaming to multiple platforms?

Hi Danny, I use GoPro9 to stream live to twitch with Quik App and it works perfectly quality wise - but I've just been testing so far and I don't understand how the overlays and alerts are going to appear on my stream, the ones I've already set up on Twitch Studio on main screen. Thanks so much. So my best tip for low lighting is to create a custom preset ... and use 4K30 hypersmooth off, sharpness to medium, bitrate high, shutter to 1/50 and iso min and max at 400 each. Color - flat ... at the bottom as you are setting your custom preset you can add a short cut to the iso and shutter so you can play around with it depending on how low the light is
funny that you ask... i was just about to try it for the first time on monday and then we had a lock down ... i feel like they will update the max soon and will for sure check that one out, but from what ive seen on the max now its pretty cool!
I've got questions so bare with me: How can I livestream without people being able to join or see it? Do I need to have something like OBS to livestream or can I just use my GoPro and TH-cam? Not doing a gaming livestream.
So you want to live stream it but don’t want it to be viewable at the time, you can set up an unlisted stream and connect to that. Just make sure it’s not public
Thanks!! I subscribed immediately. One quick question: is possibile to go live using the phone and another wireless (or cabled) external camera? Or is go pro the only one that able me to stream through phone by an external camera? Thanks again
2:13 Also people who have brand accounts HAVE to use RTMP. The app will only pair to the primary google account the brand account is attached too. I dont have a TH-cam channel on my main google account so it can't set it up. It was really hard finding this video too.
Great info! I am going to use the Zoom platform (for now) to have live paint classes. I have been looking for something to use other than my computer or iPhone. The GoPro seems like a better alternative to using a webcam.
The only way I can see that actually working is just recording the audio into the computer (with the yeti) and the video on the GoPro, and make sure you clap at one point to easily sync it together on editing software. Because the gopro won’t take in any usb mics
Danny, these tech vids are very helpful, thanks so much for putting them together. You have made me seriously consider the Go Pro 9 now. Q1- was the side panel you were showing at the start from the Go Pro App? Q2 - Do you have a video on basic set up and use of a Go Pro, like a Go Pro 101??? And a last comment, since I am under 1,000 subs, I use Streamlabs with a custom RTMP to Live Stream with my phone on TH-cam. If you need details/steps, let me know. G'day mate.
Thanks Wendell!! The 9 is pretty great. I have a couple more vids about it. But to answer your q’s ... q1- yes that is the gopro app on the phone on the left side of the screen. Q2- as far as a basic video are you talking for just taking video or live steaming ? And if you are under 1000 subs you can still stream from your computer. So connect gopro as a webcam with stream labs and go live.
@@MrBlackReviews I film skate video on my go pro in NYC but I only stream on my iPhone. Can’t get it to work on go pro. I stream Wednesday nights in NYC. Thanks for this video
@@WalksWallStreet oh thats awesome... one thing you need to consider is that youtube requires you 1000 subs before you can go live on the gopro, however it works on facebook and other platforms
Can you make a video on how to use it on tik tok specifically, I bought a hero 9 thinking it could be used easily on tik tok but I can't figure out how too. not even with a rtml
@@MrBlackReviews Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately, I have no way of changing this during the stream. It is always in wide-angle mode automatically
if looking to livesteam would u go for 7 or 8or the 9 ? and can u just stream with your phone and the go pro so if u wanna go on the go u can just steam light also can it record what your doing on the memory card as well maybe in 4k or 5k if you use go pro 9 5k video and then it steam to 1080 also do you know any cameras which are portable and can steam 4k ?
The 9 would be best, because it streams in 1080 but it also does record to a memory card if you want it to. I’m not exactly aware of what resolution it records it in. 7 works good but only in 720, the 8 isn’t worth buying, better to spend a little more for the 9 (those are my 2 cents 😊)
@@MrBlackReviews ok also have you used the insta one R as that was another camera thought too as u can get 360 mod and also the 4k and i think 5k mod ONE R 1-Inch Edition is ready for ultra-high-res 5.3K capture though im trying to work out if that can do normal live streaming as well

funny that you ask... i was just about to try it for the first time on monday and then we had a lock down ... i feel like they will update the max soon and will for sure check that one out, but from what ive seen on the max now its pretty cool!
What’s a good gopro recording stick or case for it???
ulanzi or telsin makes some of the best cases for the gopro. as far as recording stick do you mean the micro sd card?
I've got questions so bare with me:
How can I livestream without people being able to join or see it?
Do I need to have something like OBS to livestream or can I just use my GoPro and TH-cam? Not doing a gaming livestream.
So you want to live stream it but don’t want it to be viewable at the time, you can set up an unlisted stream and connect to that. Just make sure it’s not public
Thanks!! I subscribed immediately. One quick question: is possibile to go live using the phone and another wireless (or cabled) external camera? Or is go pro the only one that able me to stream through phone by an external camera? Thanks again
That’s a great question. I think the gopro is the only one I know of.
Also. Thanks so much for subscribing that means a lot :)
2:13 Also people who have brand accounts HAVE to use RTMP. The app will only pair to the primary google account the brand account is attached too. I dont have a TH-cam channel on my main google account so it can't set it up. It was really hard finding this video too.
ah thats interesting.. ya there are a lot of weird factors! i want to try this on facebook because i think it will be so much easier!
is it possible to stream with a go pro max 360?
Great video! Really helpful, well done, and you got right to the point on everything. Nice job. Also, love your production value.
thanks Tyler... I appreciate you taking time to write that! I means a lot!!! ☺️
Great info! I am going to use the Zoom platform (for now) to have live paint classes. I have been looking for something to use other than my computer or iPhone. The GoPro seems like a better alternative to using a webcam.
Have you tried to use the iPhone as a webcam ?? It looks pretty sick ! Check this out th-cam.com/video/OOevWGerNZE/w-d-xo.html
@@MrBlackReviews I have used my iPhone, but these classes are fairly long and I need my phone for other things.
I have the hero 5 and the set up live option doesnt come up
Hello I’m confused with rtmp there are many info on google can u tell me what side u use?
I use rtmp when I want to schedule a stream. Basically rtmp is a code that sends it to any streaming site that uses rtmp
@@MrBlackReviews yeah I figured out thank u so much u the best bro since last year I was trying to do it like this.... u earn one👏👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing buddy, anyway may I ask if gopro hero can work in blue yeti microphone for ASMR?
The only way I can see that actually working is just recording the audio into the computer (with the yeti) and the video on the GoPro, and make sure you clap at one point to easily sync it together on editing software. Because the gopro won’t take in any usb mics
Thanks for the comment 🤗
@@MrBlackReviews Ok buddy thank you for you reply, now I know! Welcome. Keep uploading
Oh you’re near Brisbane? Nice! I’m in Brisbane - are you’d till living here?
I am. I’m actually a musician and play at a lot of the bars! Eat street on Sunday 7pm!!
It's a good video. Thank you very much.
I have one question.
Does it support fhd '60fps' in livestream?
thank you.
Hi thanks so much for the complement . highest it goes is 1080.30fps ... it would be awesome if they did 60pfs
Didn’t know it was possible thanks bro !
Does this work for twitch ? Example having gameplay and GoPro at same time for live stream ?
I don't believe it will work that way... but there are ways to do it, but might take more than just the gopro.
Excellent content. Easily explained for noobs like me. Thank you for this easy to follow video.
dude. you are GREAT! KEEP IT UP!
it worked! Thanks bro!
This is great, I want to go live while skateboarding NYC
that would be really cool to watch actually.. especially with the max lens mod!!
@@MrBlackReviews got ya. One way I am working around that is by using Streamlabs. Thanks again really enjoy your content.
How can we do in Instagram live, I want to live from my go pro
Can you make a video on how to use it on tik tok specifically, I bought a hero 9 thinking it could be used easily on tik tok but I can't figure out how too. not even with a rtml
Sorry I meant rtmp
Hi mate what camera do you use to record yr TH-cam vids
hi Jwilliam... i use a Sony a6500. I have some links to the camera and lens and mic int he description if that helps :)
Subbed you because this is a great guide. Nice edit man! Miss Australia so much enjoy it!
thanks Life Exotics :) what part of the world do you live in???
@@MrBlackReviews American living in Poland
Hey, thank you very much for the great video!
Can I turn off the wide angle in the live stream and zoom in a little more?
Many greetings
Yes I believe you can set it on narrow . It zooms in just a little bit but not to much. I’m hoping they come out with a telephoto lens mod
@@MrBlackReviews Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately, I have no way of changing this during the stream.
It is always in wide-angle mode automatically
@@freeartphoto Did you find anyway to change the angle or is it impossible ?
if looking to livesteam would u go for 7 or 8or the 9 ?
and can u just stream with your phone and the go pro so if u wanna go on the go u can just steam light
also can it record what your doing on the memory card as well maybe in 4k or 5k if you use go pro 9 5k video
and then it steam to 1080
also do you know any cameras which are portable and can steam 4k ?
The 9 would be best, because it streams in 1080 but it also does record to a memory card if you want it to. I’m not exactly aware of what resolution it records it in. 7 works good but only in 720, the 8 isn’t worth buying, better to spend a little more for the 9 (those are my 2 cents 😊)
@@MrBlackReviews ok also have you used the insta one R as that was another camera thought too as u can get 360 mod and also the 4k and i think 5k mod ONE R 1-Inch Edition is ready for ultra-high-res 5.3K capture
though im trying to work out if that can do normal live streaming as well
I am new to Hero 9 and want to stream live as my main thing. I have Facebook.
I need a step by step guide. Can you do this?
It’s actually a easy process on Facebook. You just have to click it and do it all through the phone . It’s like 3 or 4 steps
I cannot get the stream link from TikTok though! 🤦🏻♂️
Lots of amazingly useful information in this video, and wow! That sigma 16mm looks so good in the studio. 🙏🤘
Love the sigma. It’s transformed so much on my camera and makes me want to shoot more :)
Having that same lag problem you did for using on Zoom. Updated app and still the same. Happen to know of any other method?
I think you just need to adjust your settings. If you can provide more info on your problem I can try to help. I think if you are using 5k it has lag.
Is the app named GoPron
Hey there… I run car based following on tik tok and really want to know HOW I can use a go pro to go live in tik tok! Is that possible
Your video is very informative! I will definitely recommend your channel to my GoPro friends.
Hey thanks so much, it really means a lot!
Awesome video and info man! Big up from Melbourne!
thanks V Don!! Im hoping to get down to melbourne in the next month or so!!! i miss it :)
@@MrBlackReviews oh awesome! Venues are opening and gigs are back! So it's getting lively again for sure! Still doing live streams and I was researching this info for a friend actually. Hope you get to do your trip soon 🤙🏽
