    I use something a bit similar. It’s a large rectangular take out container (from the Greek place nearby, yum) w a snap on lid. Two layers of kitchen towel and one of baking parchment. Works a treat. Once - working in a big project - I didn’t change it for two months and the paint in it was still fine! A friend of mine has a Teflon sheet cake pan w snap lid that she uses and it works brilliantly.

    If you drop some distilled water into the Potters Pink tube, close it up and then store the tube upside down, you might be able to recover a more usable form of the paint. I’ve done that with my Potters Pink with some success in the past. It takes a few days. Also, you can use a toothpick to help force the water down into the body of the paint. Thanks for your helpful videos.

    What is that liner in the tray? And is it water?

    • @jclosestudio
      @jclosestudio 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I use what they call a “stay wet palette”. It’s a tray (can be any tray) with wet kitchen roll (or any kind of fabric that holds water) soaked with water, and then tracing paper or baking paper on top. On that paper I mix my paints. It helps them stay wet for longer. If you put another tray on top as a lid they’ll stay wet over night even.

    Hi Jeannine, you are clearly a natural artist if this is what you were creating 7 yrs ago 😊. What is so amazing about sketchbook practice, is that it’s a great way to catalogue not just what we love with experimenting supplies and techniques, it also acts as an historical reference to see how we progress and develop and I assume a way to find our personal style? Very much at the beginning of my journey and my sketchbooks are interesting 🤔 😂 to say the least 😆. Thank you for sharing and could you let me know what this sketchbook was? It looks like it handles watercolour well. Many thanks 🙏🏻😍🙏🏻

      Haha, granted I did have an art education before that, but then hadn't touched a paint brush in years before creating this sketchbook. It very much felt like I was starting from 0, even though of course I wasn't. It's so interesting to see work develop over time, especially if you can see certain threads running through it that you can only identify later on. The sketchbook was from Paperchase, unfortunately it's not available anymore 🙁

    Nicks course focuses on design theory like differences, value contrast, composition etc. It’s a better course for artists that have been at it awhile and have their own established aesthetic. He’s really good at critiquing to make your work better but I didn’t find I learned anything technique wise. Using “play” as he calls it is absolutely helpful in growth, but you have to learn xyz first. I find other courses are more helpful when you’re getting started as an artist so it depends what you’re looking for and what stage you’re at in your art practice. CVP is also VERY expensive (I have taken it as well) so there is that. Xo
