A quick hack you can do is to apply for the citi double cash card, and after a whole year call citi and tell them you want to do a product change. They can change your double cash card into a custom cash card, you're allowed to have more than 1 of the same card since each card is its own individual account. Chase also allows you to do this with their freedom series cards, anyway once you reach your $500 dollar limit with one of the custom cash card mid month, you can just switch the other one.

Hi Leila👋🏾 I also have this card and I used it for a large travel purchase because it has a O% interest rate until April 2024.👌🏾I will pay off the balance by this August and then start using it for my monthly groceries to stay under the $500 limit.👍🏾Tfs.🙂

I opened this card a few months ago because they were offering $200 bonus after spending only $500, which I thought was great… after i hit that, I don’t use it anymore honestly. I prefer my chase card for everyday. Thanks for the video

I just got approved for the custom cash 10 days after the double cash today. I have $1,700 limit in each card for a credit limit. $3,400 total with Citi. I will use it to meet the minimum spend and after that, I will use it for Groceries, and if not for that for Gas or Dining would be a third place category.
Down side is club stores like Sam's club are a different category than grocery stores. Since we do 50%+ of our shopping there it doesn't make much sense. Also to get around the $500 limit you can just make more frequent payments. We are paid weekly and pay off cards weekly.
Thank you for this amazing video. Do you know if King Soopers, Walmart, target and Whole Foods are included in that 5% cash back category? I am having hard time finding any information on it.
Great video Leila. I have 26 active credit cards now. My cash back strategy is something serious, lol. I’m looking for a card that offers 5% at Wal-Mart (in-store) then my journey is complete. 😎

Looks like they do 6% at Walmart every quarter up to $1500!

You can change the category per month right? Or once you choose a category, you have to stick with that category?

ACTUALLY!! I just read the fine print, I believe this is what it says
Earn 5% cash back on purchases in your top eligible spend category each billing cycle, up to the first $500 spent, 1% cash back thereafter. Also, earn unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases.
No rotating bonus categories to sign up for - as your spending changes each billing cycle, your earn adjusts automatically when you spend in any of the eligible categories
How much % for travel?
If it's your highest spend category, 5%. Otherwise it's 1%
