We are team carry-on only! We plan to each take a suitcase and a daypack as we travel long-term. We hope you find this video helpful for your travel packing needs. Please comment below if you have any questions about any of the gear. We have perfected our packing over thee years by traveling to over 20+ countries. We are now traveling full-time, and we have found many of these items useful. Hope these packing tips and gear recommendations are helpful!
Great video! I love how organized and prepared you are for your travels. The scrunchies with little pockets are such a clever idea for keeping small essentials like candy and ChapStick easily accessible. Your hiking boots with high ankle support seem perfect for your outdoor adventures, and the shoe bags for storing your shoes are a smart addition to keeping everything clean and organized. Overall, you've thought of everything and your attention to detail is impressive. Have an amazing trip!
What you are doing is awesome. I wish that I had done more traveling when I was younger but I'm going to be doing some traveling now. Safe travels to you both.
@@HelenandTimTravel Thank you! I agree it's never to late to do something that has always been on the list. I'm going to be traveling to Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands & Germany. Taking in the countries & some concerts. Going to be spending about a month traveling.
That sounds wonderful! We have many of those places on our list this year. What time of year will you be there? We likely will be there in July through Sept sometime. Gotta be mindful of our Shengen time.
Hi Tim and Helen, I am so happy for how your trip is starting and especially happy for Helen and her family as well as Tim to be together as a family in Taiwan! Betty and I are doing well & still see Scott & Brenda @ NLPT. Stay well & travel safely! Warm regards, Jim Polson
Hi Jim, so glad to hear that you and Betty are doing well. Sounds like Portland has had some crazy winter weather since we’ve been gone. Tell Scott and Brenda that we said hello next time you see them.
Thank you for showing us realistic items in your packs. I cannot stand watching all the videos who are now sponsored by Amazon and everything they suggest is Amazon based. You know it's all crap! I want quality, so thanks for the REI finds. Safe travels!
We will find out and report back! Our bags are under 32 pounds (14 kg) Definitely a learning process for year 1. Maybe wouldn’t work for something like Ryan Air. We are sticking to mostly major carriers since we are using our points and miles. Also, we plan to take trains through Europe especially when we will be in Germany and Switzerland this summer 🙌🏽
you're right, Trixie. outside Europe, i have also frequently come across harsh restrictions for carry on , such as 5 to 7 kilos... especially with the lowest cost flight providers. but, we all have different experiences, so i wish them luck :)
@@walkietalkietraveller2932 A good solution to that problem is travelling by land, Europe has a fantastic railway system , I think if you are a full time traveler you can spend a little more time and maybe money, so you have a little more comfort, a nicer view and I think a better travelling experience without the hassle of wasting hours in the airport waiting for the flight, being able to bring your own food and drinks is also a plus . If you are only travelling for a short term and you have to get back home, and go back to your routine, flying within Europe might make sense as you are sometimes saving time.
We will definitely be taking train through Europe mostly and renting a car so we have more access to the remote towns and mountains. Agreed on a nicer view and avoiding baggage fees. Bringing food and drink easily is a plus. Sounds like you’re a seasoned traveler. Hope you have some fun adventure planned! ☺️
They have for the most part! One of us got ours pretty dented and cracked when we decided to check them with one airlines, which monos is sending is a replacement per their warranty. But overall they have held up and been sturdy. After pulling them around for 16 months and also flying 30+ flights, they have held out pretty well
@@HelenandTimTravel Thank you for the reply. I only heard about them when you guys first made this video and waited patiently for over a year to see how they held up for you guys. Gonna have to get one for myself now. Safe travels!
It is a framed bag. We haven’t had anyone mention anything to us this far about it. Seems to fit under the airplane fine. We have taken it on at least a dozen flights, so far so good. Will report back if any airlines mentions anything ☺️
You’re welcome! If you have any other questions, please us know. We also share lots of gear recommendations and reviews via our newsletter at www.helenandtimtravel.com ☺️
We are enjoying our roller bags 6-months into our full-time journey. We have also traveled just with backpacking bags, and enjoy that mode of travel too. We don’t film every place we go and often travel to not typical touristed areas too. No right or wrong way to do it ☺️ do whatever works best for you!

Well thought out. Have to admit I was more focused on Tims, but this is good reference for men and women. Will watch for the update.
Understandable on being more interested in Tim’s stuff 😉 thank you for watching, Vern! Hope you got some good tips for future travels.
My daughter and I are carry-on as well! 😉

That size Carryon Definitely wouldn’t work for flights around Europe. Also curious how much it weighs

How have those suitcases held up after all this time traveling?

@zicquatee you’re welcome! we hope to do an update with a review at some point this fall.
Gregory website says Juno height is 20.5" but max personal item height for airlines is 18". Is it frameless?

Roller luggage? Had to give up rollers once you start traveling beyond the typical tourist areas.
