    *I bought these and used them at the river where I get snags often they have done a **enjoyable.fishing** recommend great job of not breaking along with some strong line I purchased as well. They are super durable and easy to use.*

    An informative and well explained video. You really do need to get yourself a tripod though.

    The cable leader is for trolling for toothy fish like wahoo and barracuda - while mono is used for trolling for tuna and dolphin - also mono used to make heavy bottom rigs for grouper and tilefish in which low visibility is important - but if using live bait the cable would be so heave as to weight the baitfish down and make it difficult for it to swim...

    I realize this is an older video, but single barrel crimps work great. I use 90 pound AFW bleeding coated wire and a #6 AFW single barrel crimp. Haven't had a failure yet. Proper equipment, made with proper material, rarely fails. I think a lot of the guys having trouble with the single barrel crimps, or even the double barrel crimps, are actually crimping the very end of the crimp. A big no-no!! Leave a 1/16" at both ends uncrimped.

    Hi, great video. Question for you..... What was that tube you had wrapped around the leaders of your trolling lures? It looks like a green tube. Seems like a great way to organize rigs. Thanks!

    out of curiosity, why would you use 250# mono or 150# mono when you have 175# and 275# cable?
    Are you concerned about boyancy? or is the mono superior for stealth if you're going for fish who won't bite through it?

    I have always wondered, I don't know why but I have a hard time trusting a crimp to hold the catch of my life. I am usto the single strand bendable steel leader wire where you can wrap around the top of the base as many times as you want for a strong secure hold. My question is, can I put a ton of crimps as insurance, like 6 or 7, all along the bases of where I am tying my swivel and my hook on opposite ends?

    Hey - sorry so long to get back with you - as for large crimps the way to go is with a different crimp system call "Nicopress" it's more $ than these small copper crimps - but way stronger - google it - and most hardware stores can set you up...good luck

    It says PROFISH Co. but most of the hand crimpers all look like they are made by the same people..
    Examples of ones simular are: BassPro (Boone Deluxe Crimping Tool) and Jinkai SC-3C Crimping Tool - if you look Closely they are very similar....
    Some crimps brands use a letter (like a H size or F size) to ID each different size crimps and some use a numbner ( like 1.5 or 1.9 ) to ID each size -

    What size double barrel sleeves would I need for 50# mono?

  • @BlueWaterTactics
    @BlueWaterTactics  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a piece of plastic tubing that's been cut at a angle so it makes a spiral wrap...

    If you are going to use a brand of crimps that use letters ID'ed by size get a crimp were the crimp holes are ID'ed as letters and if you use numbers ID'ed sized crimps get a crimper were the crimper holes are ID'ed by number...

    You should have when too stop an when you crimped too much I done all kinds of tests on mono an if you don't have it just right 90 % time it's Esther going to crouch break or slip. all ways AN ALWAYS mushroom ur mono end that way if these noobs fuck up an here going too maybe they won't lose there fish .do a lot of testing an research on it that way have faith in ur rig .don't fish it if ur not sure ur just siting ur self up for failure an calibrate ur crimpers an just buy bench crimper save ur self a lot of money an don't buy them generic crimper .uget what u pay for Hopes this helps .an if I can turn just 1 guy into a better angler then touchdown for the PATS
