- The Thunder Bolt has proven to be a fantastic photo engraving machine. We love the detail that we are getting from it! Here is a LightBurn photo engraving tutorial. We are engraving on 1/8" Baltic Birch Wood. Watch how we process the photo and we share our settings!
Be sure to check out Thunder Laser for this and other great machines.

Thank you!!! I just engraved my BIL'S dog on an ornament following you exact settings one the bolt!!🤯 I made him an ornament it was perfect!!!👌
Oh that's awesome to hear!!!! I love getting feedback like this! Thank you....glad we could help!
Thank you for this video! It helped me a lot as I am new to lightburn and the BOLT!
Glad it was helpful!!! You're gonna love the BOLT!
I followed your settings and it did lighten in the working views of LB. However, in the preview before lasering the image is SO dark.
Great video. Will the Bolt cut 1/4" hardwood (walnut, cherry, maple)? My wife and I have researched lasers for over a year. We seriously considering the Bolt. Thank you.
I also have Teak from the USS Iowa that I would like to engrave and a Made by: me in very small font
Great turorial! How do you find your Nolt for cutting wood? Undecide between Nova 35 or Bolt but have space constraints that makes the Bolt appealing. Thanks
We love the bolt. The Nova 35, with our external air compressor hooked up, can cut a little faster and cleaner. But honestly, my wife has been using the bolt for most all of our smaller projects lately!
Thanks so much. I'm excited to receive my Bolt next week! I'll be sure to try some of your tutorials 😊
@@angieangie21 That's awesome! You are gonna love it!
Thank you For Sharing❤
You are so welcome!!
Would you use the same photo settings to engrave photos on acrylic?
Not gonna lie....we have never engraved photos on acrylic with either of our machines. That is something we need to try!
What's your favortie place to purchase your quality baltic birch? Thanks!
Hey Scott, we have a local hardwood dealer that sells 1/8" baltic birch in a 5ft X 5ft piece. I just cut it down on my table saw to fit in the Bolt! :)
That was awesome. Could you do a video of the same process on your Thunder Nova 35? Would the setting be the same?
Thanks. The process would pretty much be the same. However, we have a strange issue that prevents our Nova 35 to produce a good clean photo every time. So far we haven’t been able to pinpoint our problem, potentially vertical alignment, but not positive.
@@malonecustomdesigns Do you have the hi res lens?
No, I just have the standard 2” lens on the Nova.
@@malonecustomdesigns I’m curious because they say you need the hi res lens to do images? I just wonder if I need to spend $400 to do that?
@davidtroncoso9313 it isn’t necessarily required….but that might solve our issue. Until recently, we relied on our Glowforge to do our photos. If we only had the Nova, I would probably buy the HR lens.
The thunder Bolt is 40w?
No, I didn’t realize that I said 40
Instead of 30 🤦🏻♂️. Sorry about that!!
