Cheers mate, great review! I am now seriously considering sticking to the XT series (I owned both a xt1 & xt2) rather than jumping across to the XH2 purely for ergonomics. I am a traditional stills shooter and would miss the 3 dials way to much. This cage completely changes my mind on a move to the XH series, I wouldn't use barely ANY video features that it was built for
If you don’t want to use the X-T5 for Video features, you my want to have a look at their grip for the X-T5 (no cage, just a bigger grip) It could be a better, lighter and cheaper option that could be a better fit for you. Cheers and thanks for watching
@Thierry Gibralta Hi, yeah I did look at that Grip but on another review of the rubber grip the rubber separates at the top corners where as the leather grip looks way more secure, besides the cage will help protect the camera body from scuffs and scratches. I think adding my 100-400mm zoom to the body I'd have way more confidence in the cage set up plus adding the top handle will be an added bonus for carrying when huge zoom is attached.
Had a hot shoe fall of my X-t4 most likely because of I how I was handling shooting wedding photography. Paid $349 for it to be repaired. 😅 expensive lesson I learned.
Good point. You can actually use the dials with this cage, as the too part is thinner than most cages so you still see the values on the top dials and rotate them easily
Each cage depends on the form factor of a specific camera (for the ports, attach points, grip, etc…) The XT5 is smaller than the XT4 so it would not work
Do you have any question about the SmallRig Retro Cage?
I don’t think so due to the grip/attachement points. Cages are always custom made
Can you use the original fujifilm strap while using those rig ?

I bought the other rig from small rig but that triangle thing is blocking my sd card slot door
This one let you use the dials, sd card, ports and battery slot without any issue
