Great job Hunter. IMO there's other great alternatives for reasonable prices. I just might consider if the price comes down. Simplicity is key without sacrificing sound quality especially with todays modern music. Great for fast workflow. Like you mentioned I'll still probably use another eq but for the most part it's an great plugin but again to damn pricey.
hey the price is already down uad has a strange marketing...they sell their plugin for absurd price tags...for example this one 399 bucks...and have almost the whole year sales... at the moment its 199 bucks on some sides you can get it with discount for 177 dollar...this is already very good if you are interessterd
For me, there are a few serious issues with UAD. 1 If you have invested previously in UAD plugins, you probably already have the code that's being used in this plugin, in different UAD plugins. They're just putting them together and giving you a new GUI. For a really, really hefty price. Hence the "Money for old rope" accusation by many people. 2 As LUNA doesn't contain basic or "standard" plugins, here they are selling you basic stuff, at a really high price to you. For this plugin alone, you're paying for example, nearly half of Cubase Pro, which has this vocal strip and much much more included in the price and is many leagues better than LUNA. So, when they say LUNA is "free", it's going to be the single most expensive DAW in the world, by a long, long way, if you want the basic plugins and extensions and Instruments as well. And it's missing serious chunks of functionality in comparison to a standard DAW. It's great marketing, but it's extremely deceptive. 3 UAD are obviously struggling to get some of the 3rd party developers to sanction the DSP to Native production of their previous plugins, because they would be in direct competition with e.g. Softube, Antares, Sonnox, Brainworks etc. This sort of thing gets them around some of those and although you may own their Sonnox or Antares etc DSP versions, this is how they get around the problems with the 3rd Parties and also, even if the 3rd Parties did sign up and agree on the Native versioning, it means that UAD don't have to provide You with the Native equivalent when they publish. You can see what they're doing here, it's getting around that commitment they made to make owners of the DSP versions free versions of the same plugin, but in a different format, i.e. Native. UAD are also introducing fees to existing customers to provide the native versions of the plugins they already own. Whichever way you look at this, it pretty unethical, deceitful and a massive con. There is no real argument against this, wrong is wrong.

No. Certainly limits to what it can do, which is why experienced producers will still use more powerful plugins.
