Would you recommend printing the preamp plugin sound while recording or use it later on as a plugin after recording?

Thanks for this great tutorial.Wish I had watched this earlier ! I tried out some of Unison plugins while recording vocals to print & it did work.I tried the Avalon preamp & set it to Fat Vocals & recorded but when I reopened the console plugin it seems to have reverted to the default setting .This happened with few other plugins too.Why does not the preamp retain the preset setting I had selected.Must I save it somewhere so it doesnt change during the recording process? I found that if I somehow kept the console page opened then it did not change the selected preset! But while recording on a laptop with Logic I do need to see the Logic window.

Thank you for this video! This seems like a very comprehensive sample manager. I have so many tools, but they are cluttered with buttons and features, this layout of ADSR is so practical. I think I will use this one to manage all my samples and loops.

Ive read great reviews about the Nektar Panorama P4 P6 controllers. Logic integration is supposed to be top notch, third party plugins, etc. Seems like a contender. Anyone have working knowledge with it?

Great analysis. I'm waiting for Arturia to make a MIDI controller version of the Polybrute 12 keybed. Or a MIDI controller version of the Osmose would also do it for me.

Overall I agree with your perspective. However, arguably, some of the missing integration is due to DAW limitations. And asking for a hardware maker to write and support specific integrations for every DAW - especially when the maker of one such DAW is well known for killing backwards compatibility on their platform on a regular basis. While I’m a big Apple user myself, Apple is also killing the 3rd party music industry with keeping them busy re-writing software and drivers a lot of the time. And that is killing a good chunk of time, that could otherwise be spent on new or upgraded features. In other words: It’s complicated! The market is just so fragmented with music making hardware and software, that everyone seems to just get to minimum viable product, and the high end enthusiast environment is just not existing off the shelf. The NI S series MK3 Keyboards are in some ways the nicest keyboards and synth controllers, but far from perfect. I currently run a MK2 plus a Maschine MK 3 controller with Cubase as my DAW and can achieve better, but far from perfect integration. However, I also think that MIDI 2.0 is still a niche and we haven’t even realized the full potential of MIDI 1.0, although it’s so simple.

I was lucky enough to buy an M-Audio Axiom 61 mk2 in 2012, best MIDI controller I’ve ever had or used.

The Orch hits sold me lololol. Seriously though, I already picked this up on the Black Friday deal today, but I was really really hoping this had some classic orch hits! I adore those things.

On one hand, it's wonderful that we can have all these marvels at our fingertips today, but on the other hand, the sheer amount of sounds can drive you crazy. For me, it disrupts the creative process. I did my best work when I only had a single hardware workstation synthesizer with just a few hundred sounds.

Thanks for the review. My Sony MDR7506 have been my go-to for the past 7 years. Great for late night music listening via and AVR. I recently purchased the DT770 Pro (250 Ohm) and I like the better base and flatter highs. Also DT770s fit more comfortably around the ears. The Sony's are good, being lighter and more portable.

Excuse me, can't figure out how can I map(bind) a key(in A section) to a specific chord? I chose a specific key B min, I got all 7 chords in Section B, I dragged them to Section C, and now I want to select a B key for I chord B min, D for III D maj, and so on. I thougt it should have been MIDI Capture, but it didn't work.

They should focus on instruments and not tools my daw can do. I can play progressions. They should of gave us more sounds.

I can understand paying a subscription for your own server or web hosting or something like that, but $5/mo for a iOS DAW that runs on my hardware and I won’t even use all of the features, it doesn’t make sense to me.

I have machine, but I’m trying to get away from it and stick to only logic. Definitely going to check that video out. 🤔

Logic has a Steinway model in the base application I believe. If not, as a free plugin for it.

their support has always been slow but it's worse than ever right now. just dealing with them again today...expiring passwords without warning? and providing no means of renewing/changing that actually works?....and the girl handling their cases...geez. it's bad.

It's been 4 years now since the integration, but still they don't have loopmasters packs available on loopcloud. Since we are subscribers this is really a let down..

I've played piano for 64 years. I'm with you on the Kontakt and Arturia pianos. I believe the Arturia does not involve samples and is based on physical modeling. I'd rank it slightly less than the Kontakt pianos. For a real shake out analysis I would suggest velocity CCs that range from 0 to 127 to see how well the velocity switching functions. I'm not totally familiar with it, but I think a lot of people use Addictive Keys for a free piano. Maybe worth checking out.

Helpful.. thank you! I have around 1.2 TB of samples in one directory, including a Samples From Mars subdirectory that includes every sample pack (All The Samples). However, when I navigate to it in ADSR Sample Manager, I only see a small subset of the subdirectories contained within. My ADSR Sample Manager is only sitting at around 6% analysed.. Does this sound like it's 'stuck'? I kinda expected an initial pass would give me a library with all the directories, subdirectories and files -- then the full analysis would be looking at BPM, tags, etc. But apparently not.. I can't even see all files at the moment. Does this sound correct? 🙏

A real pro like you makes creativity much more attainable to aspiring producers like me, and you do it for free. As a non instrumentist song writer, I am trying to figure out which line of virtual instruments I should go with in order to get the most of my investment. It seems like Ujam is more attractive. Thanks for the review, consequently I updated from 7 to 8. And after a few days I concluded that "new instruments for you" is really irritating condescending bullshit.

Logic Pro would be awesome if it wasn’t subscription based so I prefer Cubasis 3 and since we don’t have access to the awesome plugins lol Omnisphere etc. Logic for iPad is not really pro is it?

The keyboard might be obsolete, but so is Logic's whole "Controller" section, so it works out.

Thank you so much for this. I’m seriously considering the Micro 3 and the A25 keyboard (for the larger keys). For me using the Expansions without one of these control devices has not been a pleasurable experience.

Thank you for sharing, it missing a couple of modules if we compare with the Softtube channel strip it is much more flexible.

Thank you for this video. I'm actually here because I was researching how to get AWAY from Native instruments. Over the years, I spent so much money on Maschine/Komplete Kontrol and expansions, thinking I'd use all these sounds, only to use maybe Battery kits and a few other specific expansions like the Drum & Bass one. Now, I'd rather have something like a keyboard workstation with a solid 100 presets than THOUSANDS of sounds (many are duplicates with added reverb and SFX). Also, trying to get Machine MK3 and Logic to work smoothly drives me nuts. This why I typically revert to Battery 4

I watched another one where you talked the Apollo Console and also talked about your experience with the Apollo from the very beginning. I am going to Purchase a Mac M2 (or M3) Max with 32GM and 1TB SDD. In your experience and seeing that you use an M1 Mac, do you think that 32GB RAM is enough or should I go with 64RAM and the same 1TB SDD. Cheers Jeff and have a great one.

I use too many things like secondary dominants which are not part of the base key, so I always use chromatic when using pitch correction.

for the price id be crazy to spend that money while i can get better vocals with regular wave plugs
