Never found a reviewer who does exactly what I want from start to finish until today. I started out looking for Dubler 2 reviews and ended up here for xvox. You had my attention from the get go and you went through each step without bogging it down with irrelevant details. The way you demonstrate application is real. You do sit there and loop a snippet 500 times before you decide what you like so that was interesting. It might get annoying to loop something but as a producer, I find, you end up settling if you don't go through the whole process. I really liked that you played with the tools while we watched and listened to give an idea of how it would work in real time. Then you finished it up with a sample of how they'd be applied in different styles which is ALWAYS the next question haha. So thank you for your time and I will be going to buy this now~
This plugin is great. Super low latency too. I was concerned about that. But no issues at all. And I’ve just used the presets one click to great sounding vocals
It is not an exaggeration that is a plugin in the best of all. It is a beast you got everything you need and it's so easy to make an awesome vocal. I tried, and I was blown away forget all plugins on the market. It is a game changer. It could cost actually even more because of the efficiency of this plugin. Now as I am writing this article price is reduced for how long I have no idea. You should not think even one second. It will improve your vocals like never before.
What really fucked me up was that as an existing customer who bought the first X Vox, I was allowed to pay extra for the Pro version. I actually expected that I would get a discount on an upgrade. But instead I paid full price for the normal version and the Pro version. This means that a new customer benefits more from it. The answer I got was that I could use both versions...very funny. why should I still use the normal version when I have the Pro? The guys have a very strange price policy... The plugin is great...😅
Good stuff bro. Been mixing bass, guitars and drums for a while now and finally got a very good singer and needed a vocal plugin and I think this is it. Thanks buddy
Hey Patrick, thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly appreciated your review. It's so refreshing to finally see someone who goes into quick efficient, but yet detailed descriptions of these plug-ins, you make it professional, and yet remedial enough that anyone can comprehend the material discussed, especially coming from a vocalist who does tons of demos and lives, so bravo brother and thank you for the insights!
this is exactly what i needed to see/hear before I drop $260 on the pro package. I'm weakest on vocal mixing and auto-tuning. This looks exactly what I need
Great walkthrough! There's a MASSIVE problem with the video though.... The audio from the DAW is mono. We can't hear the stereo field in the SFX portion, nor the width of the reverb! Or even your panned vocals in the mix.
Watching and listening to this on the week leading up to November the 5th here in UK - Guy Fawkes night/bonfire night. Fireworks galore. Mr Fawkes only crime was damp gunpowder, ergo he failed to blow Parliament sky-high. Boo! Anyway, Can’t hear a darn thing! I will return to this later in the week. Take care all.
Pretty sure duck in space module existed in the original version as well, it's just we couldn't choose to turn it off or apply more of it. Definitely an improvement
Excellent friend, I wanted to ask you with what microphone the voices were recorded, and if they went through a preamp and compressor or did you record directly into the interface? specifically with what microphone did you record the song AWAY FROM ME?
@@orlandoallo hi! Thanks for your question. The microphone I use the most is Lauten Audio’s Atlantis. The mic records into an LA 610 mkII from universal audio. I have a full video on my channel reviewing this mic. I love it. With Away From Me, Garrett recorded his vocals on his own. He uses a SE electronics Gemini II and recorded into an MBox.
Hey brotha. I was wondering if you can share what you're running your mic through on these videos? Are you doing post production vst on it or do you have the mic going through them live? Maybe some hardware? Cloudlifter or preamp?
@@whackoization hey! For a long time I’d record the audio through my interface and capture using voice notes on my Mac. That method freed up logic for the video demo and I didn’t have to use any extra equipment. The downside is lining up the audio and video in post, which takes a little extra time… I’ve since switched over to using a zoom recorder (I got the H6 because it’s an older model. less expensive but still sounds great.) I plug my mic into the zoom recorder, and go line out from the zoom recorder to my camera. All audio is baked into the video file. Saves a ton of time editing. In both cases the only processing on the vocal is some light compression for dynamic control and EQ. Hope that helps!
Does this make processing power better? I can just have one plugin for vocal chain? I don’t got to send my main to my reverb bus or delay bus? This seems to good to be true
First off great rundown video, no complaints about your channel at all. I genuinely can't see or hear anything this can do that you can't achieve with existing plugins paid or even free. I guess the workflow? Idk not even close to worth 300 bucks imo or even the intro price.
Experienced mix engineers already know how to get the sound with a few plugins. Good plugin for those who don't know though. Not gonna lie. I was about to buy it before I seen the demonstration videos.
A very capable app but don’t understand the developers strategy on the hefty price on iOS. This is desktop pricing and with the mass market available on iOS the pricing should reflect this. Only my opinion.
12:09 - the moment when you show the bypassed version and we hear literally raw, not tuned unprocessed vocals and then the plugin makes it pitch perfect - is very sus
In the demo section the only plugins on the vocal are Autotune and Xvox Pro. In the examples at 12:08 - You can hear the the vocal processed with Xvox Pro and Autotune and then all plugins bypassed
Omgggg no one is saying how to open it up once you download it it’s over 100 videos of just people playing with the module im quite sure if I can get there I’ll be able to play with it to but what about the get started part
Great review! Though the plugin sounded pretty bad to my ears. I listened with KRK Rockit 8, Audio-Technica ATH-M50X, Bose QuietComfort 35 II, Klipsch the Fives, and all sounded like the singers have some sort of septum deviation or obstruction in their nasal cavity. I liked the original vocals way more to be honest.
Totally agree with you. I do think this plugin simplifies the mixing process for anyone who is newer to vocal mixing. It also helps you get your vocals dialed in really quickly. I have absolutely zero affiliation with this company so I'm not here trying to convince anyone to buy this. Yes it solves a problem by offering a shortcut. And yes you can save your money, use plugins you already have and take the time to learn vocal mixing.
I found the reverb worth it, all plugins have unique sounds and I find myself using it for delays, reverb, and stereo on more than just vocals, it was worth it for me at least because now I don't have to find 4 different plugins and tweak them all, time is something that money can never buy
