Hey, great job. I want to paint a bike frame in a faded apple candy red (front) to piano black (back). Does this apply with such strong colours? And what base coat would you recomend? Im not shure if pearl metalic white, pearl metalic silver or pearl metalic gold would be my best bet. Thanks!
For a color references of each candy2o over a variety of metallic bases including Metallic White, Charcoal, Gold and 6013 Silver Sealer, please see our candy2o color chart video, th-cam.com/video/svPIxC1mUHE/w-d-xo.html. Thank you.
Awesome tutorial as always with Simon, would love to find the time to attend one of your classes. Am I correct in thinking that you have a tutorial DVD?
Simon's classes in Belfast, Ireland are listed on www.smdesigns.co.uk/pages/airbrush-classes. Simon will be teaching at Createx Colors in East Granby, CT later this year. Dates will be released when available, perhaps occurring in August and again late October. Thank you.
Yes, with different color-shift effects due to the candy2o coated over the chameleon, which will look much different compared to, for example, simply applying the chameleon over a black base. Make a few test panels to try different color combinations. Thank you.
Awesome video Guys and that’s a beautiful end result. Noob question alert! Is the 6:1 ratio 1 part 4050? Just wanting to check my understanding. Many thanks.
Hi. Simon's candy2o mix ratio was 4050 UVLS Clear (carrier) 6:1 candy (concentrated dye) to make a very transparent color. For more about candy2o reduction, please refer to the candy2o Tech Data Sheet available at creatextech.com/. Thank you!
I am going to paint a bicycle frame a Auto Air Pearl Black faded to a Silver Gray Pearl with the Wicked Colors. How do I make the Black transparent enough for this method of application to work?
Yes, 4102 Aluminum Medium was applied over 6013 Silver Sealer, www.autoborne.com. Also, a few months after this video, 6013 was modified to have a higher metallic count using 4102 as its flake; the result is if this video we're re-done today, 6013 could be applied as the sealer & base metallic, over which candy2o is applied. Thank you.

You say second color has to be transparent. Could I spray out silver for top color and black for 2nd bottom color on a truck?
anything can be done. please make a test panel to experiment with your colors and process. thanks.

Could you paint candy over chameleon colorshift and still get colorshift effects?

What airbrush are you using ?
An Iwata W400 spray-gun with a WBX 1.3mm tip was used to apply the paint in this video. Thank you.

Extend with 4030 Balancing Clear, or 4004 Transparent Base. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors Thank you. I'll give it a practice run before I actually start on the bike frame.
Please can you tell me if the base used here is the 4102 Aluminum Medium?

A catalyzed (2k), solvent-based, urethane clear intended for automotive refinishing was used. Thank you.
