    Great video. We are bout to start to build with Hickies in Mount Barker. The slab process was faster then I am expected. How long the slabs needs to dry?

    • @adventure_to_abundance
      @adventure_to_abundance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How exciting for you!! I think our way was 3 weeks from the slab being laid to the frame going up. I believe 3 weeks is the standard cure time.
      Good luck with your build :)

    I had the same build, is your window in the 4th bedroom centered? Ours is offset to the right by 100mm contrary to the plan.

    • @adventure_to_abundance
      @adventure_to_abundance  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gee Lee Mee they are all centred. That’s weird that yours is not

      Thanks Kimberly, there's a number of things that aren't quite as they should be. My roof was pealing off in the wind just after handover, I won't mention the rest.

    Great Video! I have a few questions. I'm about to start building with hickinbotham in Playford. I know you had dates etc, but in the end, how long was build time from ground work to handover? Did they stick to the 16 week build time? Did you have any issues along the way? Any issues with doing walk throughs? Did they let you go through whenever you wanted? Have you had any issues since your build? I have previously built (not hickinbotham) and I had 4 years of problems once handover was done :(. That experience put me off building...well here I am about to build again haha. I ended up selling this jan and moving back to Adelaide. Would love your opinions on hickinbotham. :)

      Hi!! Yes! We had our keys 15.5 weeks after they broke ground!! They told us it would be 16-18 weeks so we were very happy how fast it went.
      We had an issue with the laundry sink placement, but the Supervisor was more than happy to rectify the issue.
      We found some dampness on the bricks outside the bathroom and had to have the pipe fixed (but this was picked up at hand over and fixed right away).
      We did our 3 month inspection and had a couple of minor things fixed that I found after like some paint and a window tint issue. But it was all dealt with promptly. Since then we have had no issues at all.
      We pretty much visited every day after work and would walk through. After lock up though we could only get in when the trades were there.
      Overall we had a good experience with Hickinbotham I’d say :)

      @@adventure_to_abundance Fantastic, thanks so much for getting back to me. So glad you didn't have any major issues. I really hope mine doesn't take more than 16w build time. So glad you're still happy with your home :)

    very nice video. I am confused about making a decision for the roof. Should i go with the tin roof? what do u think ? it is noisy when raining ?

    • @BaileyEthanRawson
      @BaileyEthanRawson 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, Tin roofs can be a little noisy when raining but this isn’t a huge deal and you do get used to it.. colorbond/tin roofs also are stronger and last longer than tiles 👍🏻👍🏻
