In this video, we build a 113m² house in Taita, Lower Hutt from start to finish. We even do the landscaping! If you're thinking about building in the Hutt Valley get in touch ypb.co.nz
I was just gonna ask why the lumber is pink, and then I found your other video on that entire subject lol. It's great that you guys have studs precoated to protect against insects. Things we should be doing in the US...
Wow that house takes up almost the entire plot 😮. In my rainy corner of the world they advise to leave 2/3 of the outdoor space as garden/soil. That should ensure sufficient drainage.
It's a really nice house design with huge windows into neighboring fences, #SADSIGHT. In an bigger space with opened views this would totally kick ass.
Thanks for this. Would you mind sharing how much time was compressed into these 6 minutes. ie. how long did it take to build from the point of ground-breaking to key handover?
4:13 love how there's a pick up truck just casually passing by at regular speed, but confidently in reverse like it's normal. (I know it's playback, still looks funny).
I love your builds! I have a question regarding the roofing, I see you use the same metal panels in a lot of your builds. With them mounting directly to the rafters with no layer of plywood/sheathing in between (minus the paper backing), is there no concern of future leaking? I assume you use screws with rubber washers to fasten the panels, and I imagine they degrade over time, seems like it could be a lot of potential leak points in the future. I’m sure there’s a good explanation and that it’s fine, I’m mostly just curious! Keep up the good work 🤙🏻
This sort of roofing is standard in the tropics. Here in Fiji if you're right by the ocean where salt in the air can be a problem, you can use stainless steel screws instead, but even without that, the roof should last a good 30 to 50 years.
I think they put that wire mesh down to spray foam insulation into. The combination of the wire and the foam adhered together with the roof panels, would make for a very solid composite material.
Why is it that you New Zealanders opt for houses constructed with wooden walls? They appear somewhat fragile, lacking in stability, and susceptible to damage. In Russia, quite literally, no one does this.

It's a subdivision, common in nz.
@@ferrew24 subdivision means that part of an existing plot was sold of as building ground?
The process of building the house from start to finish was very professional and excellent
Front door with a big sliding door next to it is just the cherry on top.
Terrific clip. 👍
my only caveat is that the front door is right next to a sliding door (which seems redundant), but at least the sliding door doubles as a window.

i mean people can plant flowers there or something ... not everyone can afford a house with nice views
Nice simple build
Looks exactly what we need to replace our old house here in Christchurch. Can you give any details on the plan please?

if i ever have to build a house in nz im going to require your services ;D 10/10
Wonderful 😮🥺🥺

Considering the actual area, this house looks quite big. Is there a special technique to make it look big ?
How much did it cost to build something like this amazing Building?
No foundation or anything ? Just building straight from the ground ?
there is a foundation
Can you please do a house tour of this build in another video
Is that a rain catcher in the back? What is the function of that massive black plastic tank thing?

why isn't there flashing around the windows and doors? they all had nail fins...
What's with everyone wanted to be crammed in ? Beautiful work also
No foundations? No digging or basement or cement piling?😮
It’s a light weight structure…if it was a concrete / brick house, than yes…
No yard!
how much time did it took to build the house completely?
Can you educate me please, why did this project opt for wood for the structural? Why not have it all in concrete?
This is how houses in NZ are built. Concrete is common in other parts of the world.
where is it, and how much spent ❤
Front door leading directly to living???
What did you used 2 side of the wall
How many bed/baths?
That lots too small for that houses footprint. There's almost no outdoor space.
The video says. It's a SUBDI, also common in NZ.
The set back on the gable end then having to build the little awning to protect the door-Ridiculous
can you share the floor plans?
Pl share costings too.

เค้าไม่ตอกเสาเข็มกันเหรอ
Damn no trenches
Cheap construction, the sound of rain on the roof must be maddening. No lawn.

Some people should be banned at decorating houses
???
@@joy4249 The house design is absolutely awful
Who specifically?
Decorating? 😂 I like it. Love the colour.
Beautiful, modern homes aren't for everyone 😂🤷♂️
Nice house wrong neighborhood.
