What Made inFamous Second Son One HELL OF A GAME?

- What’s most delightful though is the relationship and brotherly interplay between Delsin and Reggie throughout InFamous Second Son’s campaign. Masterfully cast for sure, but the sublime acting of real-life friends Troy Baker and Travis Willingham - performing as Delsin and Reggie, respectively - seriously grounds Second Son with a tangible reality.
We care what happens to these characters, despite their flaws and gimmicks. If Second Son’s attempt at exploring deep thematic elements remained surface level, it’s the journey its two main characters take on together than lives long in the memory, making InFamous Second Son a thoroughly worthwhile play.
Oh, and it’s tons of fun too.

I played this for the first time last year along with the First Light standalone expansion. They hold up so well and you could really tell Sucker Punch had some solid tech and talent. And as usual Troy Baker and Laura Bailey are in it, as with everything else from the last decade or so. Would love to see another Infamous game. And if we’re remaking games Infamous 1 and 2 could desparately use it as well.

No idea why they haven't made another one. This was a fantastic game. Completed a few times (which is rare for me)

My favourite super powered games are Infamous: Second Son and Marvel's Spider-Man. They are continuing new Spider-Man games but I'm surprised they aren't planning on making another Infamous. Such a great story, fun gameplay and visually appealing! What else can you ask for from a single player video game?
I await Infamous: Third Son!
It'll be a damn shame if this series never got a new game. It's one of my favorite games ever and despite being so old, still looks absolutely beautiful.

Infamous Second Son waa a great game, the story is really engaging and emotional. Combat, powers and big action set pieces are some of the best in the series.

@@yarn7344 well if GoT didn't outsell pretty much every inFamous game combined in a *much* shorter amount of time (2 years) you'd have a point. Also I'd rather experience a game that I can tell the developers had passion for rather than something just made because it'd make money.

The 1800p 60fps update makes it really shine.
One hell of a game. Played this for the first time this year and boy it was fun.
they should do PC remasters for these games, they were awesome.
I wish we got a New InFamous game! When the first showed the Spiderman 2 trailer on one of the Playstation showcase I thinked its a New InFamous for a second!
Great combat, great traversal, cool graphics and design. One of Sonys great exclusive titles.

I absolutely loved the infamous series. So much fun. Such a shame that sucker punch have pretty much shelved it. I would love to see another infamous game. They were amazing. Recently replayed second son on PS5 and I forgot how much fun it is.
This game still holds up. I still need to bring myself to playing the game with an evil Delsin lol

I remember counting down the days until this game came out. Still jump in every so often and have a blast. 2nd Platinum trophy I earned.
I loved the Infamous franchise but contrary to the author of this video’s opinion - I actually preferred the earlier incarnations over Second Son, finding it to be the least satisfying of the three. Here’s hoping that we see a return to Infamous (a reboot?) on the latest gen consoles (PS5 et al)
In terms of story, protagonist and side characters, the first 2 games are miles better. Second son's combat is more fun imo and the powers are better overall with more options and a lot of great abilities. Also the graphics for second son are insane. They hold up pretty well after so much time.
This is a very good showcase PS4 title and it still looks good to this day and best of all it goes on heavy sale all the time making it very easy to be in your gaming library.
You know what? I never finished this game for some reason..I think I'll go download it now and play it again. Thanks for this video, and reminding me about an awesome superhero game.

@@Demetrix13 beginning. I had no clue where I was or what I was doing when I booted up the save. I found it easier to just start fresh.
i love the infamous series and i thought second son was a introducing continuation to the series as a whole.
Is a beautiful game, with great action and a nice narrative. I remember a lot of people when it came out felt like they didn’t like Delsin Rowe as much as they did Cole McGrath.
It was personally my favorite out of all of em.
It was definitely my favourite when it came to combat and the world. But I think I like the original two games story more.
@@809200 Definitely agree. Gameplay was excellent, but the story was quite subpar.
Great looking game, fun gameplay with all the different super powers and the open world looks awesome. My only nitpicks are that Delsin is a bit obnoxious as a protagonist, some of the missions can get a bit monotonous and there's some abilities that you get access to a bit late in the story to fully enjoy them and make good use of before the game is over.
I love that this game runs at a 1800p at a locked 60fps by default if you run it on a PS5
I replayed and 100% cleared this game multiple times. Doing another replay rn and im enjoying it. Really surprised they chose not to make another infamous

I miss Cole McGrath. Those were some of my first PlayStation games
I always felt the actual story was too short. It was about 10 missions total. I also hate how you got access to the last power too late. By the time you get the last power I had the map cleared
it was at least 8 hours

I literally just turned this off. Was going through and taking out the secret agents, and doing the paper crane missions. The Space Needle mission was awesome

Great game. I remember this game really blowing me away when it came to showing off the PS4’s fresh tech back in the day.
I thought the story unfortunately was weak and uninspired. The stories in the first two games felt original and had genuinely tough moral choices.
The game really is fun but not having Cole McGrath (regardless of canon) and Troy Baker-saturation hitting strong by 2014, it was a bit of a bummer.
Suckerpunch make beautiful games I hope they make both another ghost of tsushima and infamous game

Years ago I bought these games for PS4, also Watch dogs 1 and 2, and at the moment im trying to decide what open world gta like game to play since gta v really hurt my head due to how big it was. I would bastly prefer something like this on scale. So im going with watch dogs seeing how more grounded it is in a way...no super powers but a bit more realistic....well possible to hack stuff if...in this fictional world. Also the same way that if i wanna play a racing games its always Mario Kart....if i want to play an Open World city like game it would probably be reserved for something like watch dogs. I had a more enjoyable experience with it when i had the power to switch music and create a playlist in the game, felt more memorable.
The only thing I've heard is that after 100% completed it lacks enemies re spawning just like the opposite of Spider-Man 2014 game. Enemies respawn. That's all that I've heard this game lacks. However I'm not actually sure if that's true. Guess I'll find out tomorrow since I've beaten the storyline about 1hr ago.
No they respawn in 2 different districts
After you clear those they respawn in different area after some time
Basically a DUP showdown or Invasion,the game will notify you when they take over a part of the map and it'll appear on your map
This happens on Good/Bad karma so you should be able to find em pretty easy
They should at least make a sequel for ps5 by now
The spectre of Cole loomed too greatly over this game for me to enjoy it completely.
One thing that bugged me about this game is that you only get the concrete powers for the final 10-20 minutes of the game. Kind of a waste.
This video makes me realize just how empty the ps5 feels without an infamous entry.

i tried prototype just cause infamous 1 and saints row 3 but all were really boring and repetitive but infamous second son is so much fun. i love this game

I loved the first two Infamous games. I bought this one and the graphics were good but did not Ike the story. I would play another one if they create a new game but I think the franchise is dead.
Cole was better than delsyn.

I had never seen powers like the ones in Second Son. Infamous first two games stuck with your standard elemental super powers and this game comes up with super powers like smoke, neon, video and concrete? What even is that... then I read too deeply into it. Typically Native Americans profess a strong link to nature, and all of these things, Concrete Cities and barriers, Industrial Smoke, Neon Lights and Technology are the antithesis of this link, but the one native boy that distances himself furthest from the traditions and this link to nature shared by his tribe, can embrace these wicked elements and bring freedom... no wait, that is colonialism rearing it's ugly head again.

I really didn’t like infamous second son, the movement felt really sluggish infinitely running with the neon felt really good but you have to do a bad karma run to get it. Also the smoke was basically useless once you got the neon and the video was only occasionally useful. The story and characters were also just really annoying, Delson was constantly being a dick Reggie was just super smug and Eugene was just a little prick all the time. The only good character was fetch, she was actually likeable. Finally I also found the karma questions to either be really weak or confusing, when i first played the game I had a bad karma run because I barely knew Becky at this point, and then they just kept trying to guilt trip me for it. The corrupt or save questions were also kinda shit because I thought the good karma option would end up in Reggie arresting them and I didn’t want to miss out on these characters before I even met them so I just kept picking the bad karma options because they genuinely seemed better than the good karma option. I really just think the game isn’t good, the combat is trivialised even on expert, the choices and karma are misleading and movement is trash. And don’t even compare it to other ps4 exclusives.
This was the worst game I evered played! This shit was boring and the powers were useless. I don't even remember the protagonists name!

I loved this game but the protagonist was an arsehole. When I played him as evil the second time around it fit his character so much more. I hope they don't bring him back, bring back Cole.
