i see what you did there "thegoodhe bad, and the ugly" a reference to a great movie and also a reference of the franchise itself, at least i think i still liked 3 games, i think mostly because i saw my oldest brother played the games and i later played them myself, kind of nostalgia i think
Bidz Khattab they didnt say anything but Sucker Punch works with small developers on one game. Thats just the way they work and they have been making the new Ghost Of Tsushima which is about to come out. So depends on what game Sony allows them to develop after the game is out in July. Hopefully another Infamous title
@@bidzkhattab1754 I was wondering the same until I found out they were working on Ghost of Tsushima and it was mind-blowing. It looks great so far and it isn't impossible that they make a new Infamous.
Fun fact: Sucker Punch got permission from a bunch of business in Seattle to put their stores in the game. So a lot of named places you see are actual stores you can go to.
Except being someone living in Seattle the whole map just doesn't feel quite right. I mean the landmarks are there but the geography and the skyscrapers aren't.
@@AnthonyMcNeil Launch/launch window woes. Kinda sad to see so many potentially good games not quite be everything they could've been cause of crazy time constraints like this.
Another good thing about reggie death in the good playthrough is that delsin start to desintegrate his enemies like in the bad karma telling us that good delsin is just as powerful as bad delsin but he control himself more
I certainly liked that detail as it shows that Reggies death broke Delsin in a sense as during that time, he completely stopped caring about being heroic or doing the right thing and let the desire for revenge against Augustine completely take over him as she had probably just killed his last blood relative since their parents were already dead.
Build Sucker Punch Studio has its full focus on Ghost of Tsushima, but nonetheless, I do hope that in the PS5’s lifespan, we do get another InFamous game somewhere in there.
Davis Kenyon you know, I still can’t believe that SP are the ones working on GOT. I thought it would be some other dev. They did one hell of a job. But yeah, hope that down the line later this year or in the future we’ll get another IF game
I remember when I first got my PS4 this was the first game I played but my PlayStation was fucked and never let me play past where you first get your powers it was such a horrible Christmas for me but it really made me appreciate the game more when I got a new PS4 and could play through it as much as I want 😂
Only have 1 criticism with this video: when writing a critique, don't hold back for the sake of "leaving the surprise for people". Anyone willing to watch an hour long critique video of a game likey already played, or doesn't care for spoilers Other than that, I think you did a great job on this
I like how you mention that through evil karma delsin seems relaxed in fact I think that was intentional through the bad play through delsin is more relaxed like you said but by the end of the story delsin looks tired, stressed, almost like he lost his soul but in the good ending delsin looks more relaxed and at peace like opposites this is just something I wanted bring up as it felt like a cool detail
evil Deslin being more relaxed than good Deslin in scenes also pairs well with how each handles combat, with a good playthrough requiring being more careful, avoiding killing, and keeping (hypothetical) collateral damage and civilian casualties to a minimum, while evil Deslin does not care and needn't hold back to keep from killing enemies or out of concern for any bystanders that were too close, which makes for a more relaxed "hit whatever" approach in gameplay
it’s also great how they introduced delsin as a petty criminal because both the good karma and the bad karma make sense for him, we either see a vandal who learns responsibility and how to be a hero, or a vandal who takes advantage of his powers and outright becomes an unstoppable villain
I just finished the evil playthrough and absolutely hated it and only powered through for the trophy, they really make Delsin a p.o.s in the bad playthrough lol.
@@snowboundwhale6860 yeah like doing the good one is so tough combat wise because like those dup hand stations you gotta be careful blowing them up or you kill a civilian and lose your streak i lost so many streaks because random civilians are in the way
I loved the symbolism in the changing of images on Delsin’s vest. As he becomes more evil, the eagle starts to become a vulture, feeding on Delsin’s soul until there’s just a skeleton left and he’s lost all hope in redemption. However, his good evolution shows the birth of his soul, fighting against the potential corruption and transforming him into what he was destined to become; a superhero.
as for powers id say visually my favorite is smoke but in terms of game play i loved video as it was so strong. also id say the reason why "evil" delsin comes across as more "relaxed" is because hes trying to manipulate eugene while "good" delsin is simply just awkward but genuinely attempting to connect with him
KingKyuu Agreed about the relaxed thing, don’t know if I’m explaining it quite right but evil Delsin kind of feels like he’s a bit up himself, while trying to make Eugene feel important so he can take advantage of him, while good Delsin seems like you said like he’s just a bit awkward trying to connect with him. The “relaxed” vibe from evil Delsin is a bit much, since he and Eugene just met and it doesn’t really feel like they have a relationship where they can be that relaxed. It’s kind of like that villain type in shows of movies where they first show up and are confident and friendly with a big smile, but it’s in kind of a sinister way, like this will last as long as you do what I want you to. It’s outwardly relaxed and friendly but it’s not reassuring and kind of threatening. Good Delsin seems like a normal person trying to get to know someone, talking to Eugene more on his level, trying to seem both like an equal and hopefully a bit like a cool mentor. Him being nervous makes sense as this is a new role for him, and also might think showing vulnerability himself could help Eugene grow to see him as an equal and foster trust. I haven’t played it in a fair while, and I’m more familiar with good Delsin than evil, but I feel like if evil Delsin wasn’t using Eugene’s desire for revenge as a motivator, his “relaxed” attitude would either make Eugene uncomfortable and maybe discourage him from getting out there, or make him just kind of follow whatever Delsin said and not grow himself. Also the quotes around relaxed had nothing to do with me not liking the video or thinking the opinion in it was bad, I just put them there because the relaxed demeanor seems somewhat fake to me.
I mean fans of any series are always going to be alittle hurt when the main character the series changes look at dmc4 and Halo I'm not protecting lock in anyway but Chief doesn't even have a personality and people were upset
32:58 During my evil run i interpreted that as Reggie seeing the good deep inside our protagonist. Hoping that, if nothing else, his death can change his brother for the better. In reality it was cheaper than buying more voice lines but hey, let me have my moment XD
The problem with Prototype is how.... "Flexible" they made the personalities of Characters. What I mean is that Alex Mercer was just some amnesiac Blob of a Virus in the first game and then SUDDENLY in the second game Alex Mercer isn't only the one of his kind and SUDDENLY he's just an evil man out of Nowhere instead of a random Amnesiac Creature Trying to survive. God the plot of the second game makes no sense as if they try to add a Moral system from the Infamous Franchise but then just gave up and Forced in a new Anti Hero Protagonist James Heller instead. It's so bothersome because Prototype was SUPPOSED to be a CONSPIRACY survivalist story dwelling in Grey areas, NOT an Action hero story.
I would absolutely LOVE to see a Prototype 3. Imagine a Prototype game that had graphics as amazing as Resident Evil or DMC 5 with all the gore? That shit would be a spectacle. Unfortunately Activation sucks since they shut down the studio that made Prototype a long time ago. inFAMOUS 4 could very well still happen since Sucker Punch is still active.
Kin who owns the rights to prototype now we did get the remaster last year so some studio still believes in it so I would not be surprise to see a new game in the future since they went out of there way to remaster both games

How in the *world* do you not have more subs? Such a well-written, open-minded, compelling critique. One thing I often find lacking in other TH-camrs's long-winded critiques is the time taken to exemplify details and then actually LIST them and APPRECIATE them. I've always wondered about playing this game, but never picked it up. You have single-handedly convinced me, and you've got my sub without a doubt. Positively wonderful video, man. I'm so excited to see what work you got coming in the future.
Though the morality system in this game still ended up too binary and undercooked, I do appreciate the fact that it's established from the get-go that Delsin is someone who could go in either direction, as opposed to Cole who often had more characteristics that made him feel conventionally heroic if in a somewhat dark sense.
Seriously? Cole felt more like he could go in either direction. But with delsin all his neutral dialogue felt way more in line with a heroic but cocky character than the more heinous charaxter the evil karma made him into
@@FarazIFM the first game was cery interesting 8n that it wanted to keep the cole being good or evil but in if2 they specifically designed him as a hero or antihero vs selfless or selfish
Cole was quarantined in a city dying, surviving was the main goal. Cole's decisions always went both ways as he was a gritty character, zapping pedestrians to heal yourself, stealing food, etc all seemed like strong choice options, saving doctors who can save others or gf who you love but hates you, etc. Even in two with no carry on gameplay cole [dev's story was based on good ending] you still have enough conflicting options to turn evil incase you don't start evil already. When we first met delsin he's a cool alt dude, the vibes are good mostly, he's the warm hearted delinquent, he doesn't seem at all like a guy to get his friends and family hurt even tho you have that choice. His story isn't bad tho, it's just if you pick bad delsin you should stay as bad delsin, where as cole could start off tryna be good n by endgame be dripping red sparks.
This game fell into the trap of being of a launch title, where the game could be so much more. But this game is definitely better than a lot of launch titles youd usually see, and personally this is still one of my top favorite games on the ps4 with its story and gameplay
Agreed. Despite that, SuckerPunch took a gamble to toy around with the PS4's hardware improvements and with that and being essentially a AA studio, Second Son is still a fantastic game even with its issues. I could only imagine what this game would've been like had SP decided to make this game around, say 2016.
I know right, there was just so much story potential to this game and if it wasn't rush, it could've been a amazing title, I wish someone would rewrite the story of second son you know.
I think a launch title was the smartest choice, Infamous is always fun but never really complex, taking more time I believe they would of made it bigger, more powers but the story would probably feel quite the same.
@@Lelouchxzero1 I completely disagree. I've been considering a rewrite for second son and went through the franchise's plot line to refresh myself. It's actually pretty complex as far as other games released around the same time go (not including SS). Also, if the game were released a year or two later?? I think Second Son would look completely different. More interactions with the main antagonist, actual secondary antagonists, more reasoning to Evil Delsin's supremacy/psychopathy (what my nonexistent rewrite would focus on), side character spotlights, and more.
well the reggie death and his quote of "im so proud of you" is still applicable even if you were a villain, because they are family first he was his brother before he was a cop, and the journey although riddled with uncooperative beliefs incapsulates the brotherhood. Also i love smoke, but that neon finisher is the coolest thing ever.
it feels like if the cutscenes were just a little different, like good goes pretty much as is while evil goes along the lines of "I've always been proud of you, but i know you can do better" would fit coming from a loving, morally upstanding relative character
Yes but you're ignoring that fact that Delsin literally slaughtered hundreds of innocent people and encouraged other conduits to do the same, I think at that point I wouldnt tell my little brother that I'm proud of him, that endearing moment isnt earned in the evil playthrough, itd only make sense if the evil side was more ambiguous and unclear, but nah, they simply didn't choose to film a different version even though it really makes no sense
The most underrated part of this game is the use of the touchpad, this is one of the only games released on the PS4 that require you to actually use the touchpad to its full potential.
You should've mentioned in the good ending the billboard he painted with Reggie on it and said love you brother and left the can, maybe symbolically leaving behind his delinquent life.
Howdy gamers, I wanted to address the fact that the videos are all in 720p and don't do the games the proper justice all the time. The reason for this is that I am using really old hardware and my computer can't handle recording Elgato at 1080p without dropping frames. I am saving some money to buy some new parts so that videos can render faster and footage can be captured at a higher quality. Thanks for the patience and support you guys are the best!
i watched a few of your videos and you're amazing.i dont normally sub to everyone but you are special.you have potential.i hope you be a biggg youtuber bro.
I really loved how the world of the game merges with the gameplay! You don't get your powers from signs looking the same, but all the neon signs actually have a purpose in the world and to your powers. It felt natural because of that.
I remember buying the delsin vest and wearing it while I was in highschool years back lmao this game had such a big impact on me years back still have love for it. Always said the game was amazing but had the potential to be so much bigger than it was
22:50 I always believed that the art stencils are all about the attitude behind it rather than art itself per say. The idea of making art that's nice and uplifting for the citizens to look at and vice versa.
Another cool detail I noticed is that as you have said, Delsin is basically the outcast in the tribe and town that he comes from, a delinquent. It’s also shown Reggie is the cop and basically the favorite of the two. It’s that classic, ones the golden egg, and the other the failure sort of scenario that’s heavily implied by Delsin when he brings up Reggie fixing everything “like he always does” when it comes to saving the Tribe. It shows that Reggie was always the guy that succeeded in the family and fixed everything and this whole Concrete situation where Delsin needs to save the Tribe is, in Delsin’s eyes, his chance to prove himself to everyone that he can fix this problem, that he isn’t just a nuisance. Delsin really doesn’t want this to be another problem he causes that Reggie fixed that seems to be implied to have occurred before. He becomes so driven to accomplish this that Delsin tells Reggie that he will throw rocks if it means he gets to Augustine and gets her powers to be able to save the Tribe, showing how determined he is to succeed after coming all this way.
I had the same criticism of the morality system a while back. I thought it should be more morally grey, since other games with dialogue choices gave you the choice to mold your own character and be nuanced. That's not what these games are about though. These are straight: Do you want to be a Super Hero or a Super Villain? You can't really have a grey in a game like this. People won't look at you as a hero when you spray some positive stencil art, because you just killed 20 civillians 5 minutes ago. I think that was the strength of the karmic system in infamous. Your morality shaped your powerset and your appearance, and in the earlier games, your skin. Having your powers evolve and adapt based around your actions and behavior is such a cool concept, and I can't think of much else that has something like that. I think they should lean into this even more if there is a sequel, as that is always what resonated with me as being different from any other morality system in any other game.
Some of the decisions should have been you can’t please all your allies, having to make a choice where one person would be unhappy since many real life decisions aren’t as black and white as pleasing everyone on your side. The prompt only comes up four times during the game, and the Good or Evil Karma missions three with obvious indicators as to how it affects your karma.
i had to google it, i never knew Delsin was 24, that actually makes me like him more as a childish person because i thought he was supposed to be like 18.
@@Phoebe_Bea there is a charming sort of thing with comedically childish adults, I can't explain it myself but it's common in media, step brothers is a popular example.
@@protojager no i get that but disliking a young character for being childish always seemed off to me, so many people these days want child actors and characters to be like small adults and its wield
I always liked Delsins character. The way he acted was honestly part of his charm to me and the way he acted after the shock of fear of being a Conduit was over was honestly very relatable in a way to me, I mean who WOULDN’T be super psyched about having superpowers, Delsin was so gitty when it came to using his powers and gaining more powers that I could easily see myself doing the same if I was in his shoes. Delsin in this game when it came to getting powers pretty much embodied Fate UBW Abridged Shirou and his “I want that” every time he saw a Noble Phantasm. All the powers Delsin saw were just as cool to him as they were to us and since he has the power to copy those powers, he obviously was going to go out of his way to get them. Then there’s the whole him being powerful in a world full of powerless (he’s obviously not the only one with superpowers but the point still stands), of course that’s going to affect how he talks to people, he would pretty much be like Kirito from SAO Abridged who, due to being stuck in a video game with other people where he could level up and be powerful, he was able to tell people off and tell them what he really feels without restraint or remorse because HE was the strong one and they weren’t, as such there wasn’t anything they could do about it. Same applies to Delsin here, he has superpowers now so that’s obviously going to affect his confidence. The story certainly feels more catered to the Hero path than the Infamous path with how the dialogue was set up and scenes were played, and it certainly felt more natural to do the hero play through, at least for me, which I had no problem with cause I can never bring myself to actively do a evil play through, even though it’s a video game I just can’t really stomach myself to go around and essentially have the character I’m playing as do down a dark path and destroy the bonds and relationships they have with other people in the process due to their own choices (example would be Delsins relationship with Reggie and the Tribe). The Cole’s Legacy Quest even support the whole Hero Path “Rightness” as Delsin was basically recognized as Cole’s successor by Zeke.
Am i the only one who completes all the side missions before main story? (I mean all of them including collectables and hidden item, time related quest too)
23:28 - The cat isn't catching the fish, they jump into one cup and hop out of the other cup. The cat is confused by it. It's like teleportation, or perhaps the surface the cup is on has a hole that leads to the second cup. Either way, the fish are alive in the Good art.
The best part about the karma system was the way it told a kind of story. Two birds start off as equals but as time goes on one becomes stronger and overpowers the other, based on the choices of the player. Small detail, but it's quite enjoyable to follow the tiny side story
Why don't we have a rock ultimate? Imagine dup blocked off the street and you turn into a rock slide n wipe em all out or alt incase everyone in rock. The old "evil" chick had some wicked moves in her boss fight.
Legions and legends I think it was because the concrete power was only really needed to save everyone at the tribe so I guess Delsin didn’t feel like he needed to upgrade the power afterwards
I have a feeling it was a development time/cost thing. You only got concrete for the end game. They probably had to prioritise other aspects over it. It always struck me as odd tho.
@@jockturner1547 I was highly disappointed with that because it's such a cool power but it was pitiful to use. First they made it less available than the other ones and second they didn't really give you ways to use it. I mean you could argue getting the upgrades during the fight but that's it. I wanted more from it and felt so robbed.
@@eveescastle5866 Yeah I felt that as well, specially because the entire time I wanted to try it out and finally got to and if felt quite disappointing
I feel like the reason why the Eugene choice scenes are the way they are is because in the bad karma one, Delsin is trying to corrupt Eugene through confidence and talks of grandeur. While in the good karma one, Delsin isn’t putting on an act to persuade him, which comes out as less suave or relaxed
This video essay was so well written and well done. I started watching, anticipating I would watch maybe 10-15 minutes , but I became so interested I found myself watching the whole thing (mind you I've already played through the game 3 times lmao). Great job man :)
oh boy, the first ps4 game i played. I remember being blown away by the grapics, the particles and look of the abilities were and still are so beautiful
29:47 I don't think graying out the options or hiding the significance of them would change anything. The funniest descriptions I ever read would be a huge improvement though.
38:40 id also argue that these lines make him endeering. one thing that gamers complain about *way too much* is characters not sharing their motivations. yea, because thats not how writing characters works. ive seen people say this abt characters like booker dewitt or arthur morgan too, and it just shows a lack of understanding about how character writing works. it can be tricky because, in a video game, you *are* that character, it can feel slightly dissonant if your motives dont always allign. this is easier to forgive in movies or books where the protagonists actions are predetermined and there is more of an audience disconnect. tl;dr: delsin is written incredibly well, and most of the shortfalls in his character writing have more to do with the individual player and the medium
I'm extremely pleased to see an in depth review about one of my favorite games that doesnt boil down to "worse than the previous two". Also one that isnt just purely negative since I find lots of reviews really dont give credit to where it's due.
I related with Delsin so much when I first got the game way back then. Because I was in the darkest year of my highschool life and felt like I was meaningless and felt lost. Playing as good Delsinl helped me go through that darkness and gave me some sense of happiness. So I hold this game so close to my heart. For it is a game that changed my life. And for that I can't hate this game. I was 15 back then when it came out and now I'm 21.
This game still has some of the best particle effects I have ever seen in a triple A game. Other developers should look at this game for notes on visuals overall lol.
Neon is definitely my favourite power, it has the best ultimate cause of how destructive it is and I loved using running around the battle field, taking down one guy with the dash + melee then after using photon jump combined with slow-motion shots to the other guys knee's/head.
I remember loving the smoke power and the video power the neon one never felt right to me however in infamous first light I loved the neon power there due to the feeling of extreme power it gave the player for example creating a black hole to destroy enemies is much cooler than just making a couple enemies fly and then blasting them

Taz Da Goon fucktard that's not the problem. I know you get bad karma for killing someone who surrendered. What I'm saying is that when you're In the middle of a fight and an enemy surrenders you have no time to react and accidentally kill them.
@@kilz5752 There have been a ton of times when I'm about to strike an enemy down, and in the moment between me hitting the attack button, and the attack actually landing, the enemy suddenly throws their hands up and surrenders for about 0.25 seconds before being accidentally killed. Thanks to your video, I got this game again to relive my previous memories. Glad to say, it's just as fun as I remember. On the topic of favorite powers, I'll list them here: 4. Neon- It's not a bad power, by any means. The precision lasers are always sick to pull off, rewarding your aim with the respective karma you're in and such. My only issue is what you mentioned, it just hurts my eyes during the daytime. That's honestly why I try to avoid it until I can change the time of day. 3. Concrete- It's unfortunate that the endgame power you get isn't as versatile as the others. It does have some benefits, such as a passive ability to increase defense and even a triple jump for thrusters. Why not give us a concrete barrier to conjure, like the DUP guys? Oh well, still decent. 2. Smoke- No joke, it's just stylish. Smoke shots, bombs, missiles, thrusters and dash just look slick. Though, my preferred power would be... 1. Video- Concept alone hooked me in. This is basically reality-warping, dude! Why stop at angels and demons, you can summon anything from another reality! True it's not as stylish as Smoke or even Neon, but I prefer the simple approach of glitchy pixels. Wings to scale buildings fast and fly great distances, homing blades, invisibility, best thrusters for traversal and even combat with hovering fire, etc. I can understand the gripes with the story, but I think I know why. Infamous 1 got this right as it was an INNER conflict for the most part. Infamous 2 decided to have an angel and demon for the respective sides, to mixed results. Second Son seems to favor the good side over evil, which I can't blame them as most people go for the hero first playthrough-wise. The consequences for evil actions are also less and less severe in the later games, as in they don't have lasting impact in the narrative. The narrative structure was made first, THEN the decisions were put in. Infamous 1 had this too, but there was lasting impact such as Cole's relationship with Trish. Doesn't mean it's a bad story overall as I enjoy Second Son's narrative. Delsin is a good character, even if some of the writing is odd. The other characters could be more interesting thanks to trivia during loading screens, but I wished we saw that in some way like a side quest. Anyways this is long enough, I just wanted to give my thoughts on this game. Great video, by the way!
I agree with your opinion on concrete, I really feel like its underpowered, I like how it was in the final boss where it auto regained and felt that was how it shouldve been, being surrounded by it constantly. The best thing for me and concrete was either a quick heal, or the heavy hitting rock discs being a one burst on either the D.U.P trucks/helicopters
This game looked so good I had no idea when I first played it that there would be ps4 titles later released that would still not match the quality from one of its firsts titles
Personally never had that issue with the lighting for the neon power through either of my 2 playthroughs of the game. Neon was actuslly my favourite, i adored that gorgeous hot pink.
I didn't realize this game held more emotion in me than I thought. I still furiously HATE Hank and Augustine and wish the choice of killing them felt a bit more satisfying for what they'd done, but it really just felt hollow. Smoke is definitely my favorite power in the game, and it's orbital burst is by far the best one. You’ve definitely gained a new sub, Infamous second son is one of my favorite games and this review really did it justice showing off the good and the bad
Alright so this is my idea for a concrete rework. Ranged: A concrete grenade that you toss and it explodes causing a AoE of concrete shrapnel, similar to the electrical grenade ranged variation to n infamous one and two Melee: Stays the same Missile: Stays the same Assisting: Pull out a concrete wall like the dups use that shockwaves everyone around while also being able to be used as cover Dash: Stays the same but you can ram cars and people without being stopped abruptly Thrusters: Stays the same but you when you tap it twice you get a jump boost like the dups use as well as platforms and on walls when you double click near a wall Karma bomb: similar to aquas but instead of a body slam you claw around and hit things and then body slam I know this is kinda janky and weird and I’m no game designer, this could be improved in many ways but I think it would be cool for a all rounder but more tanky type power

They should just remake the all games or remaster all of them

Fun fact: Sucker Punch got permission from a bunch of business in Seattle to put their stores in the game. So a lot of named places you see are actual stores you can go to.

@@laserspark123 what you said makes no sense
I like how you mention that through evil karma delsin seems relaxed in fact I think that was intentional through the bad play through delsin is more relaxed like you said but by the end of the story delsin looks tired, stressed, almost like he lost his soul but in the good ending delsin looks more relaxed and at peace like opposites this is just something I wanted bring up as it felt like a cool detail
Basically evil karma equals short term gratification, good karma equals long term gratification
evil Deslin being more relaxed than good Deslin in scenes also pairs well with how each handles combat, with a good playthrough requiring being more careful, avoiding killing, and keeping (hypothetical) collateral damage and civilian casualties to a minimum, while evil Deslin does not care and needn't hold back to keep from killing enemies or out of concern for any bystanders that were too close, which makes for a more relaxed "hit whatever" approach in gameplay
it’s also great how they introduced delsin as a petty criminal because both the good karma and the bad karma make sense for him, we either see a vandal who learns responsibility and how to be a hero, or a vandal who takes advantage of his powers and outright becomes an unstoppable villain
I just finished the evil playthrough and absolutely hated it and only powered through for the trophy, they really make Delsin a p.o.s in the bad playthrough lol.

@@NVS_Snake nice to know. Also, is there a way to have fun with concrete power?
as for powers id say visually my favorite is smoke but in terms of game play i loved video as it was so strong. also id say the reason why "evil" delsin comes across as more "relaxed" is because hes trying to manipulate eugene while "good" delsin is simply just awkward but genuinely attempting to connect with him
KingKyuu Agreed about the relaxed thing, don’t know if I’m explaining it quite right but evil Delsin kind of feels like he’s a bit up himself, while trying to make Eugene feel important so he can take advantage of him, while good Delsin seems like you said like he’s just a bit awkward trying to connect with him.
When I saw 'In defence of second son' I was shocked I love this game

I miss games like prototype and infamous, it’s been too long since we’ve had a game that scratches that OP super power game fantasy.
Yep

Thank you so much! My next video will be a long winded Defense of AC Odyssey, and after that I’ll look at first light
But with delsin all his neutral dialogue felt way more in line with a heroic but cocky character than the more heinous charaxter the evil karma made him into
I feel like Cole also felt like he could go both ways as he has no reason to help people but then he would be worse than the people in control

One of the only games to use the touch pad too😂
I know right, there was just so much story potential to this game and if it wasn't rush, it could've been a amazing title, I wish someone would rewrite the story of second son you know.

True that
it feels like if the cutscenes were just a little different, like good goes pretty much as is while evil goes along the lines of "I've always been proud of you, but i know you can do better" would fit coming from a loving, morally upstanding relative character
I disagree since Betty wanted nothing to do with Delsin in the evil ending.
Nah, they shoulda took the time to make different lines. Love the game to death though

I always believed that the art stencils are all about the attitude behind it rather than art itself per say.

Probably my most favourite game I ever played. Replayed It like 8 times and every single time felt amazing! I replayed It again an oh boy the feels!
The Exotic Guardian wow i relate to that a lot, games can really have a big effect on a person.
Why is listening to you gush about this game for nearly an hour so damn charming
What
After six years, people are *still* talking about InFamous! Perfect series for another installment but Sucker Punch just won't bite.
Ghost of Tsushima is the way now. Only option for Infamous is If SP expand or another studio makes an Infamous game.
@@kbg12ila Appreciate what you have because ghost of tsushima is a masterpiece
This game still has some of the best particle effects I have ever seen in a triple A game. Other developers should look at this game for notes on visuals overall lol.
So the she turned herself into concrete, funniest shit I've ever seen
10/10 subbed
I’m so happy to finally meet someone who feels the same as me about Infamous Second Son
Got my first platinum in this game, really enjoyed it. Photo mode alone was amazing.
Same
Same, very easy platinum, but it isn't handed to you on a silver platter, you are asked to do a logical amount of stuff to get it
We are 4...
Neon is definitely my favourite power, it has the best ultimate cause of how destructive it is and I loved using running around the battle field, taking down one guy with the dash + melee then after using photon jump combined with slow-motion shots to the other guys knee's/head.
I remember loving the smoke power and the video power the neon one never felt right to me however in infamous first light I loved the neon power there due to the feeling of extreme power it gave the player for example creating a black hole to destroy enemies is much cooler than just making a couple enemies fly and then blasting them
"My favorite games are Infamous Second Son, Spider-Man PS4, and Persona 5"
I see you are a man of culture as well...
Those are good games but you guys need to play more games tbh
@@viperlife914 seriously. You can tell when people have played like, 10 games in their entire life.
@@alastor8091 lol

@Brandon Munoz I'm not insulting there taste I'm just saying expand your horizons play some more games those are amazing games I'm just saying that there are other games that are amazing yo
Commenting to hopefully help you with the algorithm somehow, I’m a big fan of the infamous series and this is a true, genuine, down to earth review of the game. Hats of to you!
Delsin is like El Donte from DmC: Devil May Cry except that he has an actual believable relationship with his brother and overall just better written with a real character arc
It’s just Dante
@@Kankerpatient123 go watch El Donte,Mexican DMC
If Donte was more like Delsin or Strife from Darksiders, I would've loved him. But they had to make him appeal to emo teenagers I guess.
Bro same here with my favorite game of all time this and spiderman the way you describe both is like everything i love about them but didn't have the know how about game design to really understand. I know im over a year late but I've never seen someone talk about a game in such a passionate but fair way and wanted to offer my praise. Thanks for the amazing video and giving me an explanation to why this is my favorite game of all time
finally someone who isn't just bashing the game and saying its not as good as the old ones. i love this game and i've played it many time over. its not perfect and its clear that game was rushed but i love it even still. i really hope they make another infamous game.
3:22 I'm gonna disagree a tad. I know these are Delsin's powers but I think that it should have ben specified that HIS power is gaining powers from other conduicts and those are the powers that he got from others trough the use of his own power.
He’s a male rouge basically

Really enjoying your content my dude!
It's a really nice touch talking about UI design, and in depth aesthetics of the world, which is often overlooked in game critique!
Man, I’m 4 minutes in, and this is some incredible content. You didn’t have to put this much effort it in but you did. I’m so glad you chose to. In art school we do critique style meeting all the time and it’s always refreshing to see that with things I’m really interested in, especially during this time w/o school. Thank u for what u do
I remember my first playtrough, I did a good run.
I got to the choice Spare or Kill Hank, I didn’t bother reading and with NO HESITATION I killed Hank.
I’m a VERY vengeful person and I would’ve continued with that choice if I didn’t feel like the game “punished me” for doing so.
I reloaded my prior save and spared him.
That to me feels like the one of the two only choices that mattered, the other being the ending choice.
Lately decided to dive back into the series and went back to infamous 1…omg I didn’t remember being so many sewers and just chores after chores.
Infamous 2 was nice,big improvements.
Second Son is just chef’s kiss when it comes to gameplay (concrete not included) and music.
Favourite way to move: Smoke
Favourite Way to fight :Neon
Favourite Karma Super-move: SMOKE !!!
It’s just so SATISFYING to move around with smoke and having to be more precise.
I usually never comment or like these types of videos, but this guy deserves it. Had me in every second even though I have played both endings multiple times. And at 29:51 the detail that he puts in the video, by adding in that joke for the decision making. A+ dude, sometimes I just listen to these, so That is super cool to see
I hate how when you're in the middle of a fight and someone surrenders in the middle of a fight and you kill them and get bad karma.
awwww why would you get BAD karma from EXECUTING someone who SURRENDERED? jeez i wonder why. fuckin idiot
Taz Da Goon fucktard that's not the problem. I know you get bad karma for killing someone who surrendered. What I'm saying is that when you're In the middle of a fight and an enemy surrenders you have no time to react and accidentally kill them.
Taz Da Goon lol you’re kinda slow ain’t ya
@@kilz5752 idiot
@@kilz5752 There have been a ton of times when I'm about to strike an enemy down, and in the moment between me hitting the attack button, and the attack actually landing, the enemy suddenly throws their hands up and surrenders for about 0.25 seconds before being accidentally killed. It's a very annoying system.
The role of Reggie Rowe was what made me start following Travis Willingham as a voice actor. I didn't find out until later that my next favorite character in this game, Fetch, was voiced by his wife, Laura Bailey. Usually, when they're in a show together, their parents are trying to kill each other (Roy Mustang v. Lust, Full Metal Alchemist).
me and my best friend grew up playing infamous 1 and 2, we loved them, infamous second son came out and we adored it as well. never had a problem with the game.
That cover off heart shaped box at the end in the credits us great
The band who did it, Dead Sara is fucking great
one of my favorites in my top 10 all time games. I remember being a kid wanting to play this game so bad. I got to play it and years later it’s still amazing.
Infamous second son first light expansion has a similar option to make neon go faster if I remember correct
I prefer first light to Second Son. It really made fetch into a solid character with a genuine story arc and really developed her powers
VoltaireSurge not to mention, playing as Fetch felt a lot more powerful once all the upgrades were gotten.
@@datboi1103 right! Which makes me wonder how the hell delsin could beat her in second son. Or eugene. Or augustine for that matter XD delsin can only take on peons.
@@datboi1103 holy shit emptying 500 neon bolts into a poor guy in slow motion while in mid-air is the definition
@@voltrainer simply delsin is badass

Instead of pushing your own politics & beliefs onto the viewer, you focused on the entire point of this video: The Game! Something I feel a lot of Essay Writers are forgetting is that we come to these videos to hear about the game, and the game alone. And I’m glad you’re doing just that.
Loving your videos, keep it up!
Thank you!
Actually there is no comparison, because there is no racism from cops on a scale that is even worth mentioning. Go outside more.
Finally one MAN make a video about infamous second son
he basically has the ability to manipulate the whole city with his powers. Mans is a city bender
Man’s not hot. He’s burnt
Power mimicry is honestly my favorite infamous power
@@dudedadric6514 Not mockery, bro literally absorbs them. He cant use them at their full potential because he literally evolves in a WEEK. If we had a new infamous game with an older, more experienced delsin Im sure that we could see him use all of his powers at their fullest

The moment this man said that Infamous, Spider-Man and Persona 5 were his favorite games, I knew that I have to subscribe to this channel. Your assassin's creed videos are also great!
Thank you!
Infamous is one of 3 PlayStation exclusives I really want. I have InFamous 1 and 2 on a ps3 but I never bothered to get a ps4 just for Second Son. I still really want to play Second Son, I’ve played it at my friends house and I really want to play it myself
All I want is a remastered collection of 1&2! They were some of my favorite games ever and since I sold my PS3, I have no way of playing them.
shlombox pretty sure they are on ps now if you have a ps4
On ps5 I guarantee you they will be
The graphics look beautiful even in today’s standards
This game is so underrated, I had so much fun, and the mechanics were hella smooth
Just finished all of your InFAMOUS videos, great job, love that people are still talking about this game
Thanks to your video, I got this game again to relive my previous memories. Glad to say, it's just as fun as I remember. On the topic of favorite powers, I'll list them here:
Fun fact: second son is PS4 exclusive as you know, but on the Xbox store you can buy a second son guide
Personally never had that issue with the lighting for the neon power through either of my 2 playthroughs of the game.
Neon was actuslly my favourite, i adored that gorgeous hot pink.
I wish that instead of Reggie saying "im so proud of you" for both Karmas for evil karma he should have said "i know you'll do the right thing"
I didn't like Neon all that much though, it looks cool and is great for travel, but I wasn't very good with it in combat
Thanks for the Infamous videos! I love longer videos about video games, and I haven't seen one on Infamous before, so it's been a fun watch
I personaly hated both of them too, but found the choice of killing him much tougher coz of his daughter.
You’ve definitely gained a new sub, Infamous second son is one of my favorite games and this review really did it justice showing off the good and the bad
32:29 omg I forgot how good the voice acting and facial animated are in this game 😍
Alright so this is my idea for a concrete rework.
Ranged: A concrete grenade that you toss and it explodes causing a AoE of concrete shrapnel, similar to the electrical grenade ranged variation to n infamous one and two
Melee: Stays the same
Missile: Stays the same
Assisting: Pull out a concrete wall like the dups use that shockwaves everyone around while also being able to be used as cover
Dash: Stays the same but you can ram cars and people without being stopped abruptly
Thrusters: Stays the same but you when you tap it twice you get a jump boost like the dups use as well as platforms and on walls when you double click near a wall
Karma bomb: similar to aquas but instead of a body slam you claw around and hit things and then body slam
I know this is kinda janky and weird and I’m no game designer, this could be improved in many ways but I think it would be cool for a all rounder but more tanky type power
