- In this video I am unboxing and giving you my first impressions on the Flextail Zero Pump. This is the first electric pump for an air pad I have ever owned. Will I love it, or will it be a total flop?
Couple friends have it now and love. Just waiting for my original flextail breaks before I buy this one. Great breakdown!

I prefer that giddy head rush of puffing up a pad the old way . Oh , and by the way , I like your head rag , scarf , kerchief thing you wear . Nice to see that awesome 1970’s style again .
Fantastic Review! I would like to explain the part about the nozzle, the extended rope part of the nozzle is used to secure it to the air mattress without having to try multiple times to find the right nozzle when inflating the mattress

Sweet rundown GM! 🙌 Yeah the deflate might work better on the thermarest or self-inflating pads. The quick dump option on the nemo valve is quick as is. You already know my thoughts on this pump! Until the whole unit weighs 1.2ozs I'll pass. But mostly b/c I already have a pump. As far as a first pump option goes, pretty solid.

Just the review I was looking for. Thanks. I wouldn’t use to deflate as my pad seems to down really quick. So if you buy the one without a battery I guess you just use a regular battery? Thanks and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Thanks for watching! I would imagine if you can find the correct size regular battery you could definitely use it in lieu of the rechargeable one.
Just received mine, thanks video helpful wasn't quiet sure were to plug in charger. Did u charge your battery when u first received yours?
Awesome! I did charge it, but it definitely had some power in the battery when I got it. I did recently learn that I was wrong about the leash on the nozzle adapter. It’s actually there to attach the nozzle to the pad itself. Just fyi if you didn’t already know! Cheers!

I hear ya on the colorblindness thing. Would be so easy to make it easier for us. I have no chance telling what color a tiny little light is.

I was definitely irritated that I got mine about 4-6 weeks late from the kickstarter campaign. I’ve been using it with the Tendor EC in my trailer during the week and so far the battery is on week 2 and going strong. I’ll make a video after the battery depletes so I can see how well it does on a charge.
As far as deflate, the only time I use a pump to deflate is those big Coleman air mattresses. They just never deflate enough to roll. Laying on a inflatable pad is faster imo

I've have a hard time understanding why this is even needed. I might just test how long it takes to inflate my pad with my lungs. My pad came with an inflation sack but I feel like even that is a hassle. As for deflation, folding and rolling it up from the bottom works and saves the step of hooking up a gadget and waiting on it before commencing roll up. Anyway, I'm willing to be persuaded by converts if you feel like I need to spend $50 on this.
Test results with Thermarest NeoAir Xtherm 80" long x 22" wide. Inflation time, lung power only: 1:17.18. Deflation time, initial dumping fold + final tidy fold: 0:59.77.
I hear ya and had a similar response to these at first. The main advantage of a pump or fill bag is that it reduces or eliminates the introduction of warm moist air into a pad that has been shown to produce heavy amounts of mold and mildew build up on the inside that has been shown to decrease the insulation value as well as the lifespan of the pad. Pump sacks certainly work just fine, but with there only being a minimal amount of weight penalty, this can free me up to do other task while it inflates, and on a weeklong trip, frankly blowing up a pad gets irritating haha. It’s not for everyone and it’s a bit extra and I may not even like it once in the field, but it intrigued me enough to give it a try.

Well ok then. Interesting enough Devin was the guy that turned me onto the pump. All I can say is if you don’t want to but one, don’t. 🤷♂️
