Xbox on PS5 - A 50% Increase
Xbox game Grounded brings in 49% stronger PS5 debut for Microsoft (truetrophies.com)
Using exclusive data from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts (courtesy of GameInsights), we can see just how many PS5 and PS4 players have been checking out Xbox games. Comparing the debut of the two latest Xbox releases on PlayStation, Grounded saw 49.11% more active players on its debut than Hi-Fi Rush (according to data from week ending Sunday, April 21, 2024).
Meanwhile, Grounded's debut player count outperformed Pentiment's debut by at least 89.18% on PS5 and PS4. While both games come from the same Xbox first-party studio - Obsidian Entertainment - Grounded was a larger scale project that always had a bigger presence with customers than Pentiment. So, seeing that reflected on PlayStation really comes as no real surprise.
Now, it should be noted that just because Grounded is doing better than previous Xbox releases on PS5, that doesn't necessarily make it a massive hit. Looking at our PlayStation Chart, Grounded's debut ranked #81 in its first week, which is a fairly underwhelming spot for a brand new PS5 release.

PC gaming is literally CHEAPER than console gaming in the long run. You simply pay more up front. You don't have to upgrade your PC every 2 years like clueless console gamers think.
PC gives you FREE online, cheaper games, more frequent game discounts, mod support, 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratio, better graphics, better frame rates, more control over your digital game purchases especially if you buy DRM-free games from GOG.
I used to have the mentality that PC gaming is too expensive bla bla bla. Consoles remain underpowered disappointments every generation. I got tired of having to compromise between "Quality" or "Performance" modes on consoles. It's embarrassing.

Dude! I remeber those! I remeber playing Silent Hill, at home, by myself in.. mid darkish… lol… room and using my strategy guide to play thru and making sure I missed nothing! Same with ff7! I’m only 33 but I remember those days for real.
Yes we came from days where you would get a strategy guide weeks early so you could study the world and mechanics before you played, this built hype and made games super imersive, so I am find with guides and help with games as we had it from the start, you just had to read not watch.

I dont think Fallout 4 and other Bethesda games count in that said scenario. They were not made to be xbox first party exclusive. Ya starfield vaulted its PlayStation port. But Bethesda games from before have done decently well across all ports before starfield.

I stated the other day on one of your videos Jimmy that I recently purchased Grounded for PS5 bc I thought it was such a good looking and fun game. Have had it for about 2 weeks, work 50-55 hrs/ wk and already have 60 hrs logged on it. Best survival game I've ever played and well worth that $40 price! Hands down the best release to me from Microsoft to Playstation.
Limited run is coming out with a physical copy for ps5.. just FYI

I don’t understand why Jimmy is saying PlayStation isn’t releasing games. In the last 2 months we got Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin,FF7 and Stellar Blade. PS fans are eating good. Xbox is the one with no games

I think he only refers to 1st party games, like Spider Man, God of War, Horizon, etc. third parties are definitely wrecking everywhere. Helldivers, stellar, FFVIIR2 etc.

Why don't PS get a Japanese division making imaginative puzzle/platform games? Sackboy was a waste of visual splendor and charm because the gameplay wasn't innovative or progressively challenging, Japanese minds would fix that problem. There must be a ton of adults that find combat boring in games. I'd rather play Nintendo games in HD then just UHD fluff.
