I feel like I have seen this thumbnail for a decade now
oath
Its as circulant as the Bloodborne II fake thumbnail tbh.
We have. 😅
Edit: since 2018.*
They've been circulating Project Awakening for years now, lol
In April 2024, CyberAgent (Cygames' parent company) released financial documents that listed Project Awakening under its future plans for upcoming games beyond FY2024, with a TBD release date.
I'm a simple man, I see "medieval" and "game" and I click on it
“I don’t even like these games typically but they look cool”
- another simple man
Henry's been hitting the weights. He got so strong he has a jaw.
"Henry!"
"hey, its Henry!"
"Henry has come to see us!"
God, I hope they make NPC chatter 100% chance on close proximity again. Launch day KCD made me feel like everyone loved Henry like a son, despite having just met him 5 minutes earlier.
actually been mewing
Henry been doing his jaw-ups.
Henry on that TRT
Henry on roids
🤣🤣 19:28 "Those are 20 new medieval games of 2024. Those are 20 new and upcoming medieval games of 2024".
classic Jake
You had me at knights, castles and swords.
Kingmakers looks insane, I'm also excited for Kingdom come deliverance 2, Elden Ring shadow of the erdtree and Avowed. Manor lords has been fun too.
I was obsessed with KCD when I first discovered it (not sure when it launched but I played in 2019) so I'm very excited to play the sequel
KCD2 is top of my list as I already got all achievements on steam for the first one.
Same
As soon as I see the word "Medival" I knew KCD2 would be number 1 on this list
18:32 KCD2! I can’t wait for this game I hope it’s good!. So glad more authentic medieval games are being made I’m so tired of fantasy medieval games.
I have been playing videogames since the days of the COMMODORE 64 back in the '80s. Experience has thought me to never be that hyped over anything.
But as a History nut I cannot help it but be incredibly excited about the sequel of that masterpiece that "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" is.
God, I love Kingdom Come Deliverance
No Crimson Desert on the list!! Would love to see it on the next one, cannot wait for that
Never finished KCD. I'm the type of person to rush through leveling up, finding all the treasures, just so I could not die in nearly every combat scenario. Eventually I lost track of where I was and just kept restarting. I loved the combat and the exploration, but Henry knows how much I've died.
You can level up pretty much everything in Skalitz. Only speech, alchemy, pickpocketing, houndmaster, horsemanship, and a few other skills cannot be (fully) leveled up. I do this for Hardcore, and I've played Hardcore on console, so it is doable. Just make sure to take a break from the main quest at the right time.
You need to dedicate a similar amount of time to learning skills in KCD as you would in real life. You wouldn't pick up a sword and within a day know how to use it, let alone against multiple enemies, and KCD uses a sim-like approach so you really do need to train for days at a time to give Henry any chance in combat. Next time you play, don't go to Neuhof until you've trained all weapon types with Bernard to around level 10. Getting into alchemy can help too, once you're brewing Schnapps consistently, you can save at your leisure before every fight! :)
@@tylermathews6788 Best advice I've gotten. This is why I ask people rather than Google it.
I am beyond psyched for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
This list is just an excuse to talk more about KCD2. I AM SO EXCITED!!!
You said it had a cult following and yes, I am one of the cultist. KCD was the most immersive game I have ever played and I can't wait to play the sequel.
KCD2 well deserved number 1💯!!! Jesus Christ be praised.
Dreadwolf and KCD2 is all I’m looking for this year.
No Avowed??
KCD 2 n1 of course !!!
Henry has come to see us!
Jesus Christ be praised!
Jesus Christ be praised!
only thiefs sneak around in the dark without a light
Worst game of all time
I can't be the only one completely tired of giant unsheathed weapons just magically stuck to the back. When will this stop?
never, unfortunately. theres a rather big trend of low quality gamers enjoying ridiculous flashiness over quality gameplay
No, no you are not.
KCD is one of the most unique and best games of all time. I am so exited for the second game, i almost lost hope because of the long wait without announcements!
KCD is a Masterpiece. I'm so glad that they are making a second one ❤
KCD2 is gonna be awesome!
Fyi about Project Awakening for those who arent update to date
The game is being developed side-by-side with its game engine, Cyllista Game Engine, so Cygames could use it for future projects. I wouldnt be surprised if they start showing ray-traced lighting in the future
Also Jake, Arc System Works did Granblue Versus, and you completely forgot about Granblue Relink released 2 months ago...
Legendary Tales VR is one of those games that really makes me want to buy a headset.
Mirthwood added to wish list. Thanks for the heads up!
I can’t wait for KCD2
Kingdom Come Deliverance only 2 thing I remember of it, good game but a massive cliffhanger. Just when the game and story is getting good it ends. Cant wait for sequel.
Kingdom come is the only True Medieval game.
I absolutely cant wait for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2!! I love love love the first game and I am so eager to play part two!
One game that I think deserves a mention is Dread Delusion. It's currently in early access on steam, and while not really medieval in setting, it is a very interesting and very weird RPG, with a lot of Morrowind specifically in it's DNA.
So excited for KCD 2. 1 is my favorite game of all time. Full stop. Can't wait to see where Henry ends up.
I skipped all the other nonsense and went straight to KCD2.
I really hate the phrase "Has potential."
Everything has potential, especially when it comes to videogames. Just because something has potential doesn't mean it can be great. Execution is everything.
We’ve been waiting so long for a new dragon age.
That wehave it'l b e10 years sinc eInquiaition end of this year. I'm a fan of the DA sreies as well s olooking forward to Dreadwolf. It' sprobably my most anticipated game this year.
@@sjsharp2007 likewise, I haven’t been hyped for much lately
@@Ek549 I was hyped fo rthe PC version o fForbidden West as I like the Horizon series and Aloy is a fantastic protagonist and whilst I do have Dragon's Dogma 2 I haven' tplayed i tyet. Mostly because I wa sfeeling a little burnt out on open world stuff after playing Forbidden West that I didn't want to jump into DD2 right away but I do plan on playing it. I do generall ylik eopen worl dgames. It's moer tha tI htink Forbidden Wes ttook a lo tout of m eand I don' tthink I had the most optimized buil dfor me but that' ssomething I'll work on when I play it again.
Shoutout for putting the timestamp of each game in the description 😎👍
hope you guys at gameranx have a good day!
KCD2 is an instant purchase, even at the frankly daft 70 quid price
I am begging devs to think of something more innovative than "dark gritty souls-like"
Currently playing kingdom come deliverance. Didnt enjoy it when it came out in 2018, tried over the years to play again but only the last month ive managed to really enjoy the game its brilliant
If you enjoy the "medieval sim" realism of it, you should try it on Hardcore Mode to get more immersed. Not having a map marker makes you have to read the map and notice landmarks and sometimes even checking where the sun sets to know your north and south.
It’s a game where you intentionally suck in the beginning because you literally start off as a novice. Just about everything is skill based and forces you to git gud
I could never grasp the combat but i also want to try it again
@@ActNasty5 the game in general is entirely skilled based and it’s not just the combat either. You literally have to train and git gud at it. It’s janky yes but that’s kind of the whole point.
@@ActNasty5 same but its not too bad once you learn it. Like real life if you dont practice you wont be any good. At the time I didnt appreciate it but now i do
Really curious how Crimson Desert and Where Winds Meet pan out. Both of these seem to be aiming to do for this gen what The Witcher 3 did last gen, being quite ambitious with their open-world systems, while setting up a core narrative with a defined protagonsit role.
So excited for this year new medieval games. There's also Bellwright that is quite good. Mix between bannerlords and medieval dynasty
Thank you for this one right here. This is my kind of game. I need mmorpgs in my life
KCD2 will be the RPG to end all RPGs
Legendary Tales is amazing. And yeah, gameranx should definitely cover more vr games
Thank you for this information!
The Awakener: Risen looks pretty good. I'm currently enjoying Dragon's Dogma 2, but was disappointed there's no mounts and mounted combat. The game has a large world with limited fast travel. It would have been cool to have horses or something.
There was no news about it for about a year so I wasn't even sure if it is still coming out.
They also released a roguelite spinoff called The Awakener: Forgotten Oath which looked very barebones.
Even perfect games have somthing missing, idk one game that caters to everyone. With that said, yeah mounts would've been cool lol. Mod it
There's a game called ''Tainted Grail The fall of Avalon'' y'all gotta try it.
i played pax dei 50 hours in this alpha 2 its so great
Lords of the fallen 2 deserves a spot I love it. People give it to much hate when it’s actually a good game
its far too abstract to be considered medieval, and while the combat was decent, the bosses and the story, and the enemy variety just wasnt there.
Released in 2023
Completely forgot that came out. Way too many soulslikes now.
I enjoyed lords of the fallen, it was a good game, amazing graphics
Was just thinking, last night, that Gameranx doesn't seem to showcase a lot of VR. Was going through the latest PSVR2 releases to see what looks good. Would be nice to get a before you buy on the Wanderer. Or, perhaps a list of all you guys' favourite VR games and experiences.
I feel like a game on Chrisopher Paolinis Inheritance cycle would be INSANE if done right. Playing as a rider during the golden age before the fall, being able to fly around on dragons and have aerial combat against other riders or Lethrblaka would be INSANE. Could be a great blend of swordfighting and fantasy aerial combat.
project awakening looks the best for my type of games that i like
i mean the force in which the guy gets flung around in the walls is also cool af
Kingdom come deliverance 2 and manor lords on my wishlist!🙌
That VR game looks pretty sick lol makes me think dead island 2 would work good on VR
Been pumped about Avowed for awhile now!
I would love a medieval RTS on console. Really any RTS, we don't have any, but specifically I'd enjoy a medieval one where you command armies of knights, with ballistas, catapults, trebuchets, trolls, giants, dragons, etc.
In the mean time, am I the only one that wants a For Honor 2? I actually really liked it. With all the talk of "soul's like" on this channel, I'm surprised to never once have heard For Honor mentioned.
ive been excited for project awakening since that first trailer and i cant wait to play it in 3024
the Quinfall is nothing but an asset flip.
Why Do people hate on asset use? They are there for a reason
ok so ?
@JohnMarston-sf1vk use is fine, but look up This particular egregious example
@@JohnMarston-sf1vk I guess you're still enjoying The Day Before...
@@datbunneh3671don’t get grumpy
Finally we get to continue henry's journey
Be nice to see KCD get a 60fps patch leading up to the sequel
Bellwright is a pretty good one too. It's takes inspiration from medieval dynasty in terms of being able to make ur own village/kingdom and has combat like mount and blade and so far the game seems to be promising.
Perfect choice for #1. That will be a dream come true if it actually comes out this year as planned. Amazing that KCD came out 7 years after Skyrim, and now 6 years after that we’re about to see KCD II well before TES VI. And frankly at this point I think I’m more psyched about KCD 2 than I would be for TES VI anyway.
The Elder Scrolls series is far and away my favorite, but I totally agree that they've sat on it for far, far too long. Especially considering Starfield's big ol meh of a reception. Arena 1994, Daggerfall 1996, Morrowind 2002, Oblivion 2006, Skyrim 2011...and now 13 years later the entirety of our knowledge of VI is a small glimpse of a land that could be any frickin' continent.
I was really hoping to see Unicorn Overlord here at least as some honorable mention but ohwell.
It's a really underrated game.
Man I hope Pearl Abyss cook for Crimson Desert one of my most anticipated game right now
Good stuff! I'm putting aside VR gaming until there's no more floating hands. Hoping to experience the one with the best story line from this list.
Bellwright deserves to be on this list. I have been having a blast with it
Thanks for the video! I think you could have missed Crimson Desert still confirmed for 2024 for now by the devs of Black Desert Online ^^
Agree totally, if black pearl get it right crimson desert should be great and find it odd that they missed it as it’s been mentioned on this channel a few times now
Wait crimson desert is confirmed for 2024?!???!!! Where did they confirm it I haven't heard anything at all. If this news is true I'm going to die from pure adrenaline and happiness
@@JamesNalacar there is no firm date yet but a lot seem to think it’s be late 2024 ( hope so anyway)
Thank you for putting the names on chapters, this should be the default! I’m looking for dragon age since I really enjoyed inquisition.
Been following kinstrife since day one- spoken to the devs numerous times and suggested stuff that they’ve implemented! Day one purchase!
Enotria is very important for some italians gamers since it is from an italian team; even to me, who is not quite fond of the Dark Souls thing, Enotria is extremely interesting because some of us feel it could help better showcase italian talent in game creation.
I'll happily support it and if it's your cup of tea try it out!
Bellwright is a very fun and chill medival rpg strategic and management game, looks like manor lords but survival mode
Im still over here hopping Crimson Desert drops this year and really delivers
KCD2 is the return of the greatest mediaeval game ever made.
It'd be cool to see a list of RPG's set in a modern timeline
KC:D2, Avowed, Black Desert, DA: Dreadwolf, Shadow of the Erdtree, Gothic and the Wayward Realms are the ones that I'm excited about
lmao, when you kept showin the clip of the dudes flappin around 😂
Norland is another medieval game that looks kinda like rimworld. Played the demo and its fun! Coming out in a couple of weeks!
Hey Jake Baldino you are right, Gameranx does not talk about VR nearly enough.
It's part of gaming, so it would be nice to see games journalism cover it more. There's some great stuff going on in the space that gets no love
Maybe it’s own channel or something as flat gamers are typically not interested if they don’t have a headset
KCD2 the only game ime looking forward to this year
The Quinfall looks interesting, and as for them using Unreal assets right now, they could very well be placeholders like many other games do while in production so they can develop the game. Once it releases, then we'll see if they changed them or not.
You can pet a dog in Kingdom Come 2? I'm sold.
Keeping my eye on Blight Survival. ❤🧐
Controversial opinion: irdc if the landscape assets are store bought, as long as the gameplay is good, story is interesting and the characters and enemies are fun, I'm fully on board with studios, especially smaller ones, using store assets to fill in the background (assuming the assets themselves aren't bad obv)
When I was playing on megadrive as a kid, I dreamt about a game like Kingmaker :D
God I can't wait for kingdom come 2
Me either
While i don't have particular high hopes for the Gothic remake in terms of dialog or atmosphere, i was part of the Demo Survey thing. It used the "For Honour" 3 direction fighting and i really like that. I hope they kept it and have a decent hard boiled flare. Maybe they even developed their own style of rough and dirty story telling.
how was the FPS? That cinematic looked ROUGH. Like 20 fps rough. Hurt my head to even watch it
@@quistador7
It run good as far as i remember. I needed to move a few sliders for color, light, brightness and such that wasn't really balanced. Staged? They are videos out there. The dialog did go for the roughness and swearing, but didn't feel as natural as Gothic.
I wish we had more games like manor lords on ps5, i miss getting lost in time with one of those
Can you do a before you buy on grayzone warfare? I know it just came out but that would be awesome
It's great that there's a bunch of medieval games coming out, but man a lot of them look VERY similar to each other.
Next list should be top 10 games with crazy color schemes.
(I want to work for you Falcon)
I'm not sure if Outward 2 counts as a medieval game, but I'm really looking forward to it. The first one didn't get the recognition that it deserved.
Looking forward to kingdom come and chrono odysessy a fitting game i would try on my pc
Nice cool video. Just what I needed to rekindle that gamingspark. After abruptly quitting nerfdivers 2, I need to satiate my gaming hunger with a differrnt game.
Project Awakening! I thought this game had been abandoned.
2:18 this game looks crazy good!
KCD2 HYPE !
Really crossing my fingers and toes for DD2!!! 🤞🤞😁
I’ve been waiting for project awakening for ever
As soon as I saw the title, I knew what #1 was going to be.
