Great video, well done - thanks very much! I LOVE Nilsson but never liked this overly dramatic version of Without You. Of course it's great, though. But when you hear Pete Ham sing it, you know he means it. I hope that Nilsson's recording brought Badfinger to the attention of more listeners. Also, Nilsson's deep tracks are worth exploring - great songwriter, very original. Btw, the band Heart recorded the song as well, also a dramatic interpretation much along the same lines as Nilsson's.
There’s ANOTHER version of “Without You”, a DIFFERENT song, different lyric, on Jack Jones’s album of the same name, Strangely, that songwriting credit is also “Nilsson” - but I haven’t been able to find any more about it. Yet it’s from 1968, predating the more famous version. *small voice* I think it’s a far better song! (Not the singing, the song + lyrics)
